Purely an opinion piece.
Had some interesting things in it
:

... the death of Shaniya Davis, the 5-year-old who was found dead Nov. 16 south of Sanford, has brought a community together, no matter the color of anyone's skin.

... D.J. Haire, the city councilman whose District 4 includes the Sleepy Hollow Mobile Home Park , where Shaniya Davis went missing Nov. 10, extends "our hearts to this neighborhood," and "we've been praying."

... no matter criminal charges, apparent evidence or newspaper headlines, we must remind ourselves that Mario McNeill, who is accused of abducting, raping and murdering Shaniya Davis, and Antoinette Davis, the child's mother who is charged with trafficking Shaniya for prostitution, are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law ... unless, of course, you're Nancy Grace. In my personal opinion, you can consider them innocent, I'm siding with Nancy.

I agree. I lived in the North as well. I love all the people anywhere in the world who care. I care about everyone, without regard to race, color, religion, or whatever :blowkiss: I have found that some look down at Southerners, but my experience is that they generally work hard, have good values and are wonderful people. Show them respect and they will do the same.
If it helps, I care and I'm a Northerner. Hoping to be a transplant to the South as soon as money permits.
I don't want to live here any more. It's cold and the people are mean.

This is an excellent video (almost 10 mins. long) with the Police chief. It appears to have been added to the website yesterday (Wednesday). I don’t remember seeing it posted or watching it before, so I thought I would post, for others to hear / watch.

http://www.wral.com/news/local/video/6497955/

IMO, it’s a very good interview. Although the police chief could not answer / comment on all of the questions, some of the things I found interesting were…

Reporter asks Police chief if he expects more arrests – police chief says not at this time and then goes on to talk about the number of leads / tips.

Police chief talks briefly about the human trafficking charge – (just says that it means just what is stated in statute and that he knows that a lot of people, including LE have problems accepting / believing it)

Reporter asks about AD selling child for prostitution - chief declines to comment

Reporter asks if there was a delay in Amber Alert – Police Chief thinks it was handled appropriately

If AD ever issued a plea for Shaniya’s safe return – Police Chief says no

My comments – I REALLY LIKE THIS POLICE CHIEF

Thinking of Shaniya on this special day, and a thank you to Shaq for making sure this sweet angel had a proper funeral. It brings just a little bit of light in a horrific crime. Cases like this make me so thankful for family and friends, and for those who have gone before me.

I was pondering the fact that now there's yet another similarity in names with another Phyllis. Could any case be any more confusing? Arggh.

Chief Tom Bergamine is either channeling Bobby DeNiro or could be played by him ;) TB's gotta be from NY or NJ or maybe Boston/Philly lol As frustrating as it is not getting much new info, no one wants anything to compromise investigation and prosecution of anyone involved in Shaniya's horrific end. Meanwhile, haven't been able to scrounge up much new and trying to patiently wait, maybe court appearance will help generate some.

Thank you EXCELLENT VIDEO - Wow; I really, really like this police chief. When he spoke about AD, his expression and tone of voice said it all. When asked why Shaniya was removed from school - chief simply said this is part of the investigation. I have the feeling they are investigating all aspects; the same questions we ask.

I was looking to see if CNN had anything about Nancy's upcoming show on Mon then I seen this ..
I was thinking about when the first Shaq article stated "The family went out of town for holiday or something like that .. now we know why!! Is her show in NY? I wasnt sure if the guests were on location or a remote location feed , I guess it could be either one.

I just saw that article and was gonna post it here but you beat me to it by a mile. Anyway a very touching thing for Shaq to do. :thumb:

Major crush on Chief Tom Bergamine going on here. Probably is a carry-over from my crush on Bobby Deniro.

I don't remember reading that statement...
Police said Shaniya's mother has been in and out of the Police Department helping in the investigation and remains in town.

Leona Cromartie, Antoinette Davis' aunt, said Sunday she believes the accusations against her niece are false and that McNeill is talking to police in an effort to get a plea bargain in court.

Cromartie said she once met McNeill, whom she called "Mano," and doesn't know the relationship between him and Antoinette Davis.

"This is shocking to me," she said. "It just don't make any sense to me. Antoinette would not hurt her kid. That girl loves her daughter."

Cromartie said Davis isn't an unfit mother. She said her niece had worked double shifts for more than a year.

She said Davis also has a son and is pregnant again.

Davis had been living at a house on Wall Street, according to Cromartie, and then lived in different motels until moving in her with her sister, Barbara Davis, at the Sleepy Hollow Mobile Home Park.

I just jumped in so forgive me if this has been posted before:

http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/18/domestic.child.trafficking/index.html

(CNN) -- It sounds like the plot of a crime drama or the scourge of a developing country, but human trafficking is a serious problem in the U.S. and America's children are frequent pawns, experts say.

The case of Antoinette Nicole Davis, a North Carolina mother accused of selling her 5-year-old daughter, Shaniya, into prostitution, highlights one of the most heinous -- albeit rare -- forms of trafficking within the U.S.

Thanks ..I didn't read that one .. Did you notice my post on previous page about not remembering reading certain statements? did you read those? I guess I must of .. but I think I would remember reading AD worked double shifts.. which I find odd since employer stated she worked part time ???

I've read these articles and did you notice they got BD's name wrong; it's Brenda. We could write more accurate articles.

I get enraged everytime I read anything from the Davis clan. Here's an aunt :furious: who acts as if she cares for her niece, but doesn't offer to take her in when she's without a home with children. Motel I believe is a polite way of saying homeless shelter.

I must of just scanned it just looking for vital info or something .. but the double shift thing, Mano, and her going to the Police headquarter i simply missed Dah

I told myself I wasn't going to do this anymore but I can't help myself.

He said his daughter had lived with him for the past three or four years.
"I just wanted her to be a mother," he said. "She was never part of her life." Shaniya is five - if she lived with you for 3-4 years, then she lived with AD for 1-2 years. Unless there's a mystery person about to jump in, I'd say she was part of Shaniya's life.

Lockhart said he doesn't know where his daughter might be. He also doesn't know where Davis is or how to reach her, he said. During your last intervew, you finally admitted you saw/spoke with AD after Shaniya went missing.

If Brad chooses to continue speaking to the media, just be straight with us. Behind the scenes, let's hope he's clear and honest with LE to assist in every way he can.
