Dunno but he was not the calendar yesterday and only appears on the 9th and in Jan. I posted the court calendar above #147. ???

If you click on this link here: http://www1.aoc.state.nc.us/www/data/CUMBERLAND/calendar/DISTRICT.TRIAL_.12.02.09.AM.002B.CAL.txt and scroll down to 189, this will show you that MAM was on the court calendar for 12/2/09 for the kidnapping charges.

The Kidnapping charges although scheduled for 12/2/09, they were not heard on 12/2/09 BUT have been rescheduled for January 10, 2010. (Thanks to HeadExplodes for finding the info).

Im bringing a post back I made from a few threads back on this case, this may give us some idea of why this case may seem to be hush, hush,.
First I want to point out once you get to the link is that this monster was never charged until the brutal death of this other angel, Chasity Sumner,it appears that during this almost 2 year investigation 3 or 4 others came forward with rape.

Never once were we updated of ANYTHING,and there was nothing to be found on the case,it was like it fell off the face of this earth.

Im praying this is not the case with Shaniyas case, but it could very well be that there are more victims, I think this case will take some time and I hope NOT ONE STONE IS LEFT UNTURNED.

Remember there were other children in that house, plus with the record MAM has,I doubt he was even partially civilized to live his life in any "normal" fashion while out on the street and most likely the same with AD.
Like some others have said, sadly, I believe we have more to come.
This also happened in NC about 7 miles from where I live.

name
MANNING JOHN DOC number 0476872 white male

Im hoping the above link will take you to this offenders page, this may give you an idea of what Mcneill will hopefully get if not more.

This case is about a beautiful little girl that lived in my county,NC also, this tragedy kept me up for days, very similiar to precious Shaniya, this case got very little publicity but Chasity Sumner 7 yo was , raped, affixiated, and murdered and dumped in a gully very close to her house.
I have just found this, thanks to one of your links, I always wondered what that animal ended up getting.
I hope we can count on this case to get justice for Shaniya.
Youll see from doing a search that very little is out there with this case,it was very hush, hush,
Its beyond sad of what Shaniya went through to get publicity, but,on the other hand I believe progress is made when it is so exposed to the media that we can finally show outrage and maybe, maybe change laws in favor of child protection and concern.

Don't know if my last post went through, I may have done somethng wrong... but MOO- I think they might be waiting on more evidence and/or other people under investigation before going to court with charges under the situation?

When I read Oriah's post about people handling this in their own way, I sorta agreed, I hope neither ever leaves the prison except in body bags. This case is so painful and horrific that I can barely think about it without being overcome with terrible grief. I'm not sure of the place they found her, fact is, I am directionally challenged in life, but I live fairly close and I'm surprised no tribute was placed there. I am willing for LE to be silent if they will prosecute this to the fullest they can. No mercy. In NC, details will not be given out, only at the trial will we learn much.

State Senate candidate Thom Goolsby wants to reform probation system.
http://legal.blogs.starnewsonline.c...hom-goolsby-wants-to-reform-probation-system/
<<SNIP>>(if ellected)
Goolsby said that he wants to introduce legislation called “Shaniya’s Law” to strengthen and reform the state’s probation and parole system after Mario Andrette McNeill, a 29-year old, was charged in Shaniya’s murder. Goolsby said that McNeill has been placed on probation at least three times for offenses mostly involving drugs.

Whether he wins or not this needs to be done...

I can only think that the reason for the delays is more evidence--possibly DNA from more than one person involved in violating this beautiful little girl. Hopefully, any and all persons involved will be prosecuted. I also hope the public stays angry. We have every right to be angry since apparently her own family refuses to be. The only way to change legislation is to get enough people to stand up for the victim's rights and not the perpetrator's. JMO

Goolsby has a lot of work to do on this "Shaniya's Law" proposal. It's very weak and it doesn't change anything. Even IF MAM was still on "probation", IF MAM did this, he would have done it whether he was on probation or not.

Selling drugs, buying drugs is not the worst thing in the world to do. Drug users serve time or not, go on probation as a punishment then released.

I could see IF MAM or anyone that had been previously charged with "kidnapping", abuse to a child in any manner, etc., have stricter laws, but since MAM's history mainly has to do with drugs, how could any law foresee "early release" from probation was going to lead to "kidnapping, murder and rape?"

IMO, it sounds like Goolsby is planning on running with the tragic death of Shaniya for a seat in the Senate. :banghead:
