exactly! Both mentioned for different reasons. It is unusual for an AA child to look like that. This is why it is so surprising to me that Shaniya's appearance did not peak someone's suspicion. That and a single man with a young girland no woman with them

To be honest with you though....to single them out as AA etc might bring a lawsuit... what white (or let's face it..Middle eastern, hispanic) desk person is going to call the cops cause a little girl's "ethnic" hair is not nicely done up??

MAM himself had some nasty looking dreads from what I could see..but who is going to risk a lawsuit for their hotel like that??

For all they know MAM is an attorney who prefers a "natural" look, coming in early for a trial...an eccentric professor..
or whatever



if we can't stop people from certain countries at airports based on "racial profiling" I don't think ANY hotel clerk is going to risk it.

as far as a man with a little girl....it would be great to see some change in their hotel procedure ...where they have the ability to question such a thing
but at that time/now they don't have that

When someone is concerned about public opinion they get the Internet cleaned up. so that we can forget as much as possible. In the hopes that by the time a trial comes no body even thinks of all the details they should be thinking of.
Like out of sight out of mind.

Besides if you look - they used to be attached to her Signature, and they are not there.

OT: If you look at ARTICLES for employment they tell you to make sure to clean up your name, and they mean clean up facebook, my space or anyplace that may give a poor impression of you or Too much Information, because you may loose out to someone who makes a better impression.
The Internet is an information bonanza and not all information is good for you....Look at Tiger Woods many articles have already been cleaned up.

There are many dads who are out with their kids with no wify around. But at 7 AM in a Hotel it is a RED FLAG.
To me it was a combination of things that would have stood out immediately. Not the hair being out at 7AM because she may have just awakened.
or that he carried her at that early hour because she could have been half asleep.
but it would be the combination of how he looked, and the kid had no shoes and then I would look closer and say why is the child's hair unkempt and why isn't she walking on her own.

I had my grand kids this weekend and in the morning my little ones hair is a mess as is mine.

But the Carolina's are known to have more child trafficking then most states and every Hotel should be on alert for anything that stands out.
By the time the hotel called they were already gone form that are, and who knows what was happening to her when that call was finally made.

The interview had Brad coming in from a distance and then he was up close. in the recent one we can see Brad is already on the spot. going to look again, the original has His Dad coming from as far back as the house when Byron is already answering NG questions.

So in the sisters interview in this one, she is not saying that Brad was not the one to take care of shaniya, but his girlfriend and sister took care of her he did not have much to do with taking care of any of them.
Yes she did say that, in fact Brad had commented that she was not supposed to say that.

I am totally convince that anything that was said that will point at Brad on any way has been cleaned up.
And in general Nancy drooooooled over Brad so much I almost puked a half a dozen times when she had him around. So nothing that is on NG IMHO is how it originally was.
In fact as soon as I have a minute I will address it to NG personally.

shortly after Nevah Buchanan went missing my daughter was out riding her bike on a rural/dirt road any my dh was following along in his truck. She wanted to ride "on the road like a big girl" so my dh thought it would be okay following behind her to keep an eye etc. Anyway a woman noticed it and also felt suscipicios because my daughter definitely appear to have AA in her and as I have said dh could be older brother to BL so blond hair blue eyes ruddy complexion. DD did not look like she belonged to Dh. The woman got the guts to ask my dd if due knew "that man" and do you need help little girl. My dd didn't understand what was going on snd merely replied that "that is my dad. The woman again asked are you sure? Are you scared? Dd assured lady she was ok.
If I could have found that woman I would have hugged her. We need more people to not be afraid to step on some toes. To risk getting yelled at and told to mind your own business to protect the defenseless.

All true (especially down to the Carolina's-the deep South in general re:child trafficking.)
However, I think there is validity in respecting that not all men who travel early in the morning with disheveled female children need be alerted to LE.
Please, NO ONE misunderstand that I think this situation could have been prevented from much, much earlier on- right up until the very end. Thus my heartbreak over the thought that if she were possibly still alive but injured and suffering right in my back yard...I could have prevented her death by FINDING her earlier. Obviously that is known not to be true now.

But the war on this disaster going on in our country is not going to be won by profiling. It sometimes helps, but in the big picture- not all that useful. Child abusers, predators, traffickers, and murderers come in all different colors, shapes, sizes, and ages.

People- watch your children. And watch other peoples children as much as you can. When you see something awry and it makes you uncomfortable- call LE.
