I believe there's a very good possibility you're right but I'm curious why you picked those specific hours? I do believe she was dead before 3:00am. MOO

7 pm because that's the earliest that you could expect the other older child to be sent to bed or to his room. I think if whatever happened, happened in front of the older child, he would have caved by now. And I don't think he did it. So, 7 for a liberal estimate. 2:15 am, because you have to factor in the time to assault her. Then time to transport her to the back porch, in blanket. Take her off blanket and onto or into something else. Now, the body is hidden, but you can't leave it sitting there. Move the body, then the blanket. So, they either dumped her somewhere nearby, or loaded her body in a vehicle, and drove her a little ways away, then went back for the blanket, took it across the street, and threw it away. I don't see the perp worrying about the blanket before the body was stashed away and I don't see that happening in less than 45 minutes.

ETA: Although if bf took the body and her mother took the blanket, I would say that cuts it down to about 30 minutes.

ONCE AGAIN, you are posting pics of a little girl that is NOT Shaniya. I mean come on, just stick with the pics verified by the media, not ones found on bogus pages/sources. The little girls in those pics do not even closely resemble each other. Your intentions are noble, but the road to hell is paved with those same kinda good intentions. You are featuring someone's child here, when they don't belong...moo

I am new to the boards, I have just been reading to keep up with different cases but have never replied to anything. I wanted to reply to this case because I live in Fayetteville! That whole area (off Murchinson Rd) where she lived is one of the worst areas in town. I am not at all surprised to hear about drugs and DSS involvement. This area is not somewhere I would want to drive around by myself, even during the day. :/ It really makes me worry what might have happened to her, I hope they find her. And someone had posted something asking what time schools start here, elementary schools start at 8am. Buses usually run around 7:15 or so.

Not much at Topix yet. Only a few comments on 2 different threads.
There is a thread where someone posted about WTH is going on in Fayetteville. Said lots of helicopters and heard a couple blasts. I was thinking it was the search for Shaniya with the helicopters. But the blasts don't make sense. Anyone local or good with maps. Is Shaniya's home anywhere near the Wendy's on Raeford Rd near Skibo? Probably not related but it peaked my curiosity.

I didnt notice any blasts, but they could have came from Ft. Bragg. We are right next to it. Her home is off murchinson rd which is not really near the wendys you are talking about.

Do you know Shaniya or her family? I'm not being snarky, just an honest question...considering the rapid change seen in most toddlers / school age kids, they might look different from one year to the next.

Personally, while I am not sure all of the pics are Shaniya, I do believe the graduation pic and a few others from the same source which that came from, is the same beautiful little Shaniya we've been talking about on this thread.

I could be wrong though, so if you have personal knowledge, please share.

I think that could be the reason for the story about her disappearing off the couch between 5:30am-6:30am. Somebody would have to explain why she wasn't going to be at school. MOO

She might not have had school that day. My sons has been out the past 2 days for parent teacher conferences. Plus school doesnt start til 8 so she may not get up that early. I dont get him up til 6:30

This is sounding worse by the hour. I sure hope the footage from the security cameras in the MHP will shed some light on what happened to little Shaniya. I do feel that LE has a good handle on this.

I saw earlier today that Mom and the brother were questioned extensively yesterday. Did they say anything about the BF?

Welcome! Thanks for your input about the area, but I had a good idea just looking at the Google maps and video from local media. That said though, do you feel that a stranger abductor would've entered the mobile home park at sunrise and taken Shaniya off the couch without anybody inside noticing? Even though it may be an unsafe area, I feel this happened from within. MOO

Look at the photos? You cannot be seriously going to argue that that is Shaniya in each of those pics. And if you are, I'm sorry. I truly am.

The additional pictures are from a myspace page that some on here (INCLUDING ME) found last night when we didnt know the mothers name. Charla was kind enough in a very direct way, to point out that this might not be the mother. She was right, at about 330 am I realized that the myspace page with these additional pictures belonged to someone else and deleted all references to it on these threads. If you did a google search, the page came up and some ran with it. it was an honest mistake, but evidentaly the person with the photobucket pictures didnt get the memo.

what is your source for the additional photos of shaniya? I haven't been able to find any of them except for the two in the media.
