I am having trouble following this thread. When the first two were closed, there was no link like "continue here" as I usually find at the end of a closed thread. It was just a little frustrating, that's all. Is there a reason? Thanks for the help understanding and for the thread continuing.

that is because there was a bit of a "problem" on the last thread. No worries as the mods cleaned house. You ended up in the right spot and can go back and read the past threads when you have time.

The AMber Alert is nationwide now.
Means LE really doesn't think he will kill her and dump her. They expect to find the 2 of them together.

I don't believe this. :furious: I was just watching WLOS TV 13 News covers Western North Carolina and not one word of the update info was on. No picture MAM etc...What the heck. That is really poor for a news station!!!

I said earlier it was a blip on my local news, but tomorrow might be different, so I hope someone has reached Mr McNeill and he will take her to a hospital, firestation, or anywhere safe before it gets waaaay too hot and something unintentional happens

When I got back tonight, this thread was at the top. Easy to find.

The old thread? I went back there to figure out what the heck happened. Looks like the brooms went through.

no inamaze... you are AMAZING for what you do! you had enough worry with all the trouble in the last thread. I thought you handled it with about as much savy and verve (and CLASS) as I have ever seen!

I would think so. My husband and I are in many hotels due to business travel and I always notice parking lot surveillance. Hotels in general seem to have good surveillance IMO.

I think she's alive, I think he will leave her somewhere.
I don't see a killer in that man's eyes. He is being gentle, but not grooming the child gentle. In fact, he seems to be careful with her, so as not to touch her in a bad way, if you look at his hands. I think (unfortunately) that this might be among the best treatment she has had.
I think that instability is nothing new for her and she may not be as upset and scared as we fear she is.

And if there is no DSS history on the father's part, they need to publicize that. They need to paint this man in a rosy light, make him look like a saint and get more than just those 2 people there to stand beside him.
Have him look into that camera and say thank you for caring for her. Now it's my turn.

Just catching back up-- wonderful perplexing developments! After seeing the father's plea for her return, I began to wonder if LE reached out to him so that the perp was made aware of another caregiver in Shaniya's life...a safe home for her to return to.

Coe's charge of "terrorizing" AD made me wonder if there was a fight and threats made in defense of Shaniya. Idk...seems like there could be a happy ending here...hanging onto hope!

I look at his mugshot and all I can think is that when that picture was taken, the only internal dialogue he had going was "I shouldn't have sold to that guy, I knew I shouldn't have sold to that guy..." It's just that look. He's smiling, looks a little chagrined. Not even really angry, maybe just at himself.

I called my gf in SC and TN. His face is all over the news showing him carrying her in the hotel. I think its a matter of time.

My brain keeps puzzling with the question, Why would a man take a child, (child appears to not feel threatened by the man) which she is half dressed, nothing missing from the house as far as we can tell, no bags?

The mother in my mind did not know about Mcneill taking her daughter. Simply because she reported the girl missing shortly after claiming she put her on the couch. If there had been a "plan" I don't think 911 would have been called so quickly. I also would imagine there would be clothing taken along. Any of the theories in my mind lead to either of those options happening when it comes to the mom.

I do not think we have enough information to really understand if the mom knew anything or was involved.

I am speculating the boyfriend had more to do with it only because he is arrested right now. Maybe with him in jail it gives everyone more opportunities to spill the beans without feeling threatened.

The feces is also puzzling in my brain as how it ties in.

If the little girl left the home on her own and a man saw her and took her out of the trailer park, the man being Mcneill? But I just don't see why she wouldn't be returned by now if this man had an innocent standing in this.

I do think this case will be solved quickly. Phone records, surveillance, and hotel personnel interviews. If he is planning to trade her I think the cops will interfere before anything happens.

I don't know how long it would have taken him to get from the Murchison Rd. area to hwy 87N, I wouldn't think it would take 30 mins. But once he got to Bragg Blvd/87N it is a straight shot, new 4 lane hwy, not alot of traffic once you get off Bragg, depending on the traffic at that hr. which is prob scarce. If he left w/ her at around 5:30am he could have been in Sanford by 6:15am easy. imo. To leave and be checked into the hotel by 611 well, yes it could be done, he would have been speeding is all.

I wish LE would tell us the time they saw him on the video. I do not believe the mom at all. 530am is bunk....
