NC - Shaniya Davis, 5, missing from her home 11/10/09 #3

Ok you all I am throwing this out here. I posted this on an earlier thread. When I was out shopping yesterday (Wed) getting grocery's I saw a child in the store that looked almost identical to Shaniya. I bumped into this girl and woman at least 7 times in the store. I even told my husband about her looking just like the little girl who was missing.
I live in Colorado, NC is 1800 miles away what are the chances of her being here ?!! If they hopped a flight perhaps...Please any thoughts

Mysticrose - you HAVE to report this... the woman you saw her with may be involved! How wonderful it would be if this WAS the little girl - and you brought her home to her loving Daddy?

I called my gf in SC and TN. His face is all over the news showing him carrying her in the hotel. I think its a matter of time.

Does anyone else think that McNeil (sp?) looks a lot like Shaniya? Wonder if this guy is under the impression that he is her father? Kind of like a cruel Maury Povich style swindle that the mom perpetrated? Idk, I am really trying to figure out what this guy is doing with her!

I searched for a post with a link to a news story, but couldn't find one. However, I think that has to be the mystery infant that was discussed in some posts earlier as to whether there were 3 or 4 kids. Shaniya's brother is seven. Hopefully that poster is just an out-of-touch relative (if at all) and it's the same kid.

I guess mom isn't too worried about AIDS.

LE did indicate there were a lot of custody issues in the recent past...

Thanks it would not be hard to track the surv. as I have my reciept to show when I checked out. Maybe I should this little girl looked just like her down to the ponytail in her hair...She seemed a little heavier then the pictures I saw but this girl was around the same age...Nothing seemed to be out of sorts...

In addition to frames from hotel surveillance, IIRC there are also a couple more recent photos of Shaniya shown during the presser. I didn't screencap but in at least one she looked to have changed noticeably since pics used by media.

As I sit here reading the 'new' info, it's really puzzleing (sp?)...
I'm beginning to think that the actual father may have gotten info regarding what all was going on in that trailer... # of people living there, possible drugs, DSS being in the picture, sewage problems, etc... what if HE had recently 'threatened' the mom (and I use that term loosely -jmo) that he would be coming for his daughter - to remove her from that environment? And she got spooked and sent her away, maybe to a distant relative! LE would be able to track recent telephone activity, as to possible locations.

Has there been ANYTHING revealed (by family members) if shaniya and her dad had a close relationship?

I still can't believe that IF the mom WASN'T in on it - why no pleading or media? Even by the Aunt... Leads me to believe they never thought of Shaniya being in danger - & - had NO IDEA how much press this would actually get (nationwide).

Praying for the SAFE return of this darling little girl - TO HER DADDY!

I think she's alive, I think he will leave her somewhere.
I don't see a killer in that man's eyes. He is being gentle, but not grooming the child gentle. In fact, he seems to be careful with her, so as not to touch her in a bad way, if you look at his hands. I think (unfortunately) that this might be among the best treatment she has had.
I think that instability is nothing new for her and she may not be as upset and scared as we fear she is.

I haven't even seen pics of mom. Makes no sense and looks bad that she has not come forward

Yes at 6:11 am Tuesday based upon hotel surveillance--the man was id'd too, but no one has seen Shaniya since nor knows where they are now.

It depends on how you define "confirmed" I guess.

I don't have an exact quotation, but I interpreted what they said to mean "we looked at the tapes and we think that it is her." To me, that sounds a bit less than confirmed. Others here view it as a more concrete statement.

Looking at the photos that they gave out at the end of the conference, it does look like her. Or at least a kid that looks like her general outline.

I am quite certain LE had at least mom, and dad, view surveillance tape. I forgot exact wording (I'll go back and listen) but they said she was with Mr. McNeal.

Yes went back and listened. Public Info Officer said "We have confirmed a tip received via your help... that Fayetteville Police had received a call from hotel and after police immediately traveled to Sanford, and w the help of family members, were able to confirm child to be Shaniya."
