NC - Shaniya Davis, 5, missing from her home 11/10/09 #3

I missed a day and boy what you miss in 1 day. This case just gets weirder and more bizarre with each passing hour. At first I suspected the BF Coe had abused the child around 3ish (when the neighbor heard a rucuss) and that whatever beating he gave her her hurt her internally thus the feces on the blanket) I surmised that he then realized how severly she was injured and then eliminated/dumped her somewhere. But this hotel development and the appearance of McNeil into the mix - WTH???

Mom definately knows something. In a trailer with 6 people no-one heard a sound?! Not buying it. Also who the heck puts their kid down to sleep at 5:30 a.m.?

Upon checking into the hotel, they would get his lisence, major credit card and make, model and plates of his car. I am very curious why this info has not been released.

And also update it from statewide to nationwide.

I think it means when the amber alert is upgraded from statewide to nationwide, but I could be wrong!

I am not sure who it was, but I think someone last night speculated that the black and white item could be a stuffed animal.

IMO, carrying her this way seems like he is not used to carrying children. She seems very comfortable with him and not afraid (based on the pics.). I wonder what he said to her about why she is with him?

Regarding how McNiel is holding her. That IS an awkward way to hold a child of that age/size unless sleeping and she is obviously awake and appears alert. If you note how he has her t-shirt pulled taught down as far as it will go onto her thighs, it occurs to me that if she was put down wearing a t-shirt and underpants, and then (for whatever reason) soiled herself, perhaps he is holding her that way because she is no longer wearing anything BUT the t-shirt in the surveilence photos and perhaps the soiled panties were removed? Just a thought.

In addition, the checkered item looks to me more like a stuffed animal than a plastic bag in the photos shown on the post above. Is it possible she was given a stuffed animal to hold in order to win her trust or keep her calm and docile?

If the hotel clerk immediately called LE after they checked in and they got their fast and then they were gone, they would have only been there 1/2 hour or so? Maybe an hour?

Maybe he was gonna hide out with her there and got spooked? Maybe based on something the hotel clerk said? Did he formally "check out" or did he just leave the hotel?

Just speculating.

I think the white thing is a towel or blanket, it looks like it's there to cover her lap area (possibly since she has no pants or anything on), and the checkered thing looks like an article of clothing to me, folded up. That pattern is popular right now.
