Folks I need some help. I don't really know how to start a MP thread correctly, but our town needs these guys in the spotlight. How do we get national coverage to help with resources for this search ??

angelbaker.....I will put in some information from your link above and maybe the mods can put in their names or the location.

"The Coast Guard says Steve Chaney and David Hambrick took off aboard a 22-foot fishing boat around 11:30 a.m. Sunday from the South Harbor Boat Ramp in Oak Island. (which is NC)

Rough seas and strong winds could be affecting the search for two missing fishermen off of Oak Island."

The article also includes pictures of the men.

Google check of missing men's names indicate they are still missing. There is real concern due to the weather.

Nope can't edit and don't know how to alert a mod.
This is emergent and I'm not sure how to arouse interest outside of the NC coast.

I spend a lot of time on Oak Island. A tropical storm has been off the coast of NC the last 2 or 3 days, why would they go out in a 22 ft. boat with the storm out there? The storm is moving inland a bit so I can see search efforts being difficult or not at all. Please let them be wearing life jackets. I would think a boat that small either capsized in high swells or got caught in strong currents. Saying prayers for these men.

To alert a mod, just click on the red triangle on the bottom left corner of your post. I did it for you this time.
You may want to also talk to them about your personal knowledge in this case.

Prayers that the fishermen are found soon.

The design of their boat looks like it would be easy to take on water. You would think in 7 years here that I would learn to put up pictures. There are pictures of the men and also the boat.

Hope I did this right. These are photos from WWAY and the USCG.

Thanks for the help y'all.

I've been a member for at least 5 years and almost never post, so I'm with ya.

I hope the NC Coast Guard alerts the Virginia Coast Guard and any local boaters or fisherman for floating debris from boat, like coolers and gear. If they or the boat were pulled near the gulf stream they are no longer off the NC coast.

Hoping they are in a safe place and are just unable to alert family or
friends.

Coast Guard searches for boaters missing off the North Carolina coast amid strong wind and water

WWAY reported that Steve Chaney and David Hambrick have been missing since Sunday while fishing in Oak Island.

The pair took off aboard a 22-foot fishing boat around 11:30 a.m. Sunday from the South Harbor Boat Ramp, according to the TV station.

A tropical system will bring heavy rain to coastal North Carolina and South Carolina with some gusts and 4 to 9 inches of rain in parks of the coast.
