HICKORY, N.C. - Police are asking for the publics help in finding a missing 26-year-old woman from Hickory.
Officials said Summer Eckert was last seen Tuesday morning leaving the Catawba Valley Medical Center Emergency Department on foot.
Summer was last seen wearing light-colored blue jeans, a dark gray pullover sweater jacket with red and gray stripes and a black shirt with the rock band KISS on the front of it, officials said.
Officials said Summer has a sunflower tattoo in the middle of her chest and a round tattoo that looks like a snake eating its tail on the right side of her neck, which means eternal life.
Summer is reportedly knowledgeable about Native-American culture, officials said, and may be headed towards places where American Indians live, such as Cherokee, North Carolina, as well as Oklahoma or Arizona.
Summer is described as white, 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 170 lbs. She has long, wavy brown hair and brown eyes.
Officials stressed that summer is in desperate need of medication.
