59-year-old Tamra Gibson's burned up Toyota more was found than 1,500 miles away in a business district in Laramie, Wyoming - 2 weeks after she was reported missing.

Her daughter talked to Gibson on May 19. “She was doing OK. So, it was all very shocking to me."

Gibson was reported missing in Asheville on May 24 by one of her friends, who she was supposed to meet on May 22 and didn't show."

Wow! This is really strange. I wonder when she was last seen in North Carolina and if there is any idea how long her car was in Wyoming. That is such a long way away. Over 1,500 miles driving directly. It really does not look good when the car is torched, but it being across the country is just bizarre.

This is an odd story - and the car tags are from West Virginia? Was she on a planned road trip visiting friends or had she moved to Asheville and just not udpated her car tags? I hope LE has more insight into how the car ended up in WY.

There isn't much information out there...I did notice her daughter is posting on FB about her mom.

From Asheville local news station WLOS :

"I had talked to her on May 19,” Gibson’s daughter Natasha Fuller said. “She was doing OK. So, it was all very shocking to me."

The shock came for Fuller, when she got a call from Laramie police investigators two weeks later about the car found on fire.

"It was pretty much burned to... Like they couldn't really take any evidence from it or anything," Fuller said.

A suspect from a deadly Montana carjacking was also charged with killing a missing Asheville woman in Kansas and burning her car in Wyoming, authorities said.
Donald Mack Gray Jr., 58, was charged for the death of Tamra Ann Gibson, police said.
Gray was charged in Montana for deliberate homicide in the stabbing death of 81-year-old William H. Joy.

Rest in peace, Ms. Gibson.

So he kidnapped her, stole her car and 4 days later ended up in Kansas where he got off I-70 and dumped her body. He then drove to Wyoming and burned her car and then made his way to Montana where he killed an 81 year old man. I feel like they need to look for any murders or missing persons in North Carolina and anywhere else he's been, I don't think these were his first murders.
