NC - Tim Varner attempted to kidnap girl, 10, from her yard, Gastonia, Nov 2018 *Arrest*

GASTONIA, N.C. - DH* said she still has nightmares about the man who tried to pull her into a car just a few yards from her front door.

Neighbors cornered the man at a store and wouldn’t let him leave until police arrived.

H*, 10, was wearing an apron and was getting ready to help her mother when she was grabbed by a stranger near her home on Ware Avenue in Gastonia Friday night.
"I felt, like, something touch me and I got shivers,” H* said.
Tim Varner, of Dallas, grabbed her by the apron and tried to pull her into his car.

"He just tried to grab me,” H* said.

SH* [DH's sister] said Varner drove away, then came back minutes later and made a chilling comment.

"He said, 'That's alright. I'll be back. I'll get her,’” SH* said.

Channel 9 found Varner’s release agreement that says if he gets out of jail, he will be confined to his home in Dallas and he can't leave unless it's to see his attorney or go to court.

He goes back to jail if he violates that order."



THis ^^^^ makes my blood boil. WHY would he be released on bail? He tried to grab a girl,in her own yard, in broad daylight, in front of adults, and is chased down, after he vows to come after her again.

And they are going to release him on bail? WHY the He!! would he be allowed to go free again?

OHHHH, that is disgusting. How can they let him be free to walk around. That 'home detention' program is rubbish. I've seen several crimes committed while the perp was under 'house arrest.'

This might even go back to this same house. That's how brazen he was. ugh...we wonder why we have so many missing victims in this country...

Yep, it's disturbing he got bail:

A Dallas man accused of attempting to kidnap a child at her Gastonia home has been released on bail.

Tim Varner, 46, of Lynn Drive, posted $50,000 bond and was released from Gaston County Jail shortly after 7 p.m. Friday. He had been held in jail since Friday, Nov. 16, when he was arrested and charged with felony counts of attempted kidnapping of a child and drug possession, along with several traffic infractions.

According to WSOC-TV, Varner’s release agreement says he is to be confined to his home in Dallas and he can’t leave unless it’s to see his attorney or go to court. He goes back to jail if he violates that order.

I kind of hope he violates the order (and is caught right away) so he will go back to jail and stay there.

Released. I don't know what to say. So he has an ankle device that will beep if he is out of bounds. And if he runs, they will know not where he is, but that he is not within the fence flags. Huh.

This guy is one to watch. I hope that is the absolute intent behind releasing him.

Yeah, it's really scary. Good job on the part of the neighbors that chased him down and held him at a gas station until LE came (and the person that called 911 too).

Omg no. I was JUST reading abt a guy in Britain that walked away from the low risk facility he was in, waltzed into a school, grabbed a girl by the arm and said, "I'll take this one." AFTER he was locked up for doing the EXACT SAME THING only at a children's hospital. The thing is, these guys are sick to the point of no return. A home monitor wont stop this guy. Telling him not to go near city won't stop this guy. It is LUDICROUS that he got bail and I can only pray we don't hear of another, successful case in the near future. God, protect the babies anywhere near him (or any other predator or well just ALL littles) How freaking disgusting
