Did we already know about this prior kidnapping charge? (Going back). It seems that occurred on Nov 16, 2018). What are the details surrounding that? What happened with that case? Obviously nothing if he was out to try to do it again!

And what the heck basis was this case (and the other) dismissed on??

(Was it because of kidnapping vs attempted kidnapping? Looking at images again, thanks Gardener.)

So not even probation, nothing?

It’s only a matter of time before he does this again. . Let’s hope he is the exception.

I’ve been trying to keep my eye on this guy.
He was arrested 11-16-20 for Attemped KidNapping. He was released on 11-23-20 on Bail.
This guy grabbed a child from her front porch. He told the Mother he will be back to get her at a later date. (Sounds like that’s probably not his first time of grabbing a child.)

Looking at his arrest records I think he’s back in custody waiting trail? (Not sure)

Why would an Attempted Kidnapping be DISMISSED and RELEASED?!!!!

Not only was it an attemped kidnapping, BUT he also went back a second time and said to the Mother “I’ll Get Her!”

“SH* [DH's sister] said Varner drove away, then came back minutes later and made a chilling comment.

"He said, 'That's alright. I'll be back. I'll get her,’” SH* said.”

Why is his case DISMISSED?!!!

Why was he Released?

Has the Mother of the 10 year old child been informed that he is now OUT AND BACK ON THE STREETS?!!!!!!

All I can think of for a reason it could be dismissed is if the child refused to talk about it again when they tried to record her testimony. But there were witnesses. Her sister held onto to her so the man couldn't pull her into the car. The neighbors followed him in their own car and held him at a gas station until police arrived. They all could have testified about what they saw. Why isn't the news covering that his case was dismissed?

@oceanstarryeyes are you local? Do you want to tweet or message a local reporter and ask them to dig into why this was dismissed?

Thanks Marg. I'm not into Twitter either but I notice it always seems to get a reporter's attention faster when someone tweets them instead of private messaging them. Not sure why, but that's my impression from following cases here. JMO.

Looking at this again after my first cup of coffee. It looks like the first kidnapping charge might not have been dismissed yet?

Dates for that first offense:

• Booking Date 11/16/2018 8:55 PM
• Release Date 11/23/2018 7:06 PM

He was released for that offense because he bonded out. For the 11/16 charges it says
Disposition: Bond Posted

Then he apparently attempted a kidnapping again 12/5/2018 but that charge was dismissed. Perhaps the first case will still go to trial? I hope so anyway. In the mean time, there is a dangerous man out there walking free. I hope the news alerts the public to keep a close watch on their children. MOO.

Neighbors cornered the man at a store and wouldn’t let him leave until police arrived.

H*, 10, was wearing an apron and was getting ready to help her mother when she was grabbed by a stranger near her home on Ware Avenue in Gastonia Friday night.
"I felt, like, something touch me and I got shivers,” H* said.
Tim Varner, of Dallas, grabbed her by the apron and tried to pull her into his car.

I kind of hope he violates the order (and is caught right away) so he will go back to jail and stay there.

I do not see anything about wearing an ankle monitor.

According to WSOC-TV, Varner’s release agreement says he is to be confined to his home in Dallas and he can’t leave unless it’s to see his attorney or go to court. He goes back to jail if he violates that order.

I do know that when I research “attempted abductions” in any given case, it lights up like the RSO maps. So it wouldn’t surprise me if its not him.
