If the remains are Tristan I would say either there was a witness to the dumping or the wife talked and got a deal. This lake is on the opposite end of the county from their apartment. Not someplace LE would automatically search.

Indeed it is, Skittles -- somebody talked or somebody saw something, or a camera (at Beaver Dam Lake???) filmed something -- there are prolly 5--10 bodies of water between their apt. and that lake. Maybe, if it is Tristan, they thought it was far enuff away that LE would never think of that -- plus that is a relatively big lake to search...

Now we wait...

She may not know where his body is, if dad killed Tristan while she was at work. But if she is being charged for leaving him alone then where was sad when she went to work? This is a little confusing at the moment. Wonder if dad works shifts and mom left before dad arrived home?

That's what I think happened -- no excuses, please know -- but this may have been their morning ritual -- ~dad~ comes home from work and ~mom~ leaves for work. It could be that somehow ~dad~ was held up or delayed or bad traffic, and he was late in getting home. ~Mom~ could not be late for work (warned or put on notice) again. She prolly put Tristan somewhere that he could cause the least amount of trouble (he was 2, however!) and she left. Dayam, how could she have done it -- or maybe ~dad~ just didn't give a dayam about doing what he could to help her get to work on time, so time passed, and Tristan tore something up, spilled a big jug of milk or a carton of eggs, or took off a stinky diaper and made a mess with it. In comes ~dad~ who had a hard night at work, he was pizzed that ~mom~ left the boy alone, and he saw whatever (if there even was a whatever) that Tristan had done and he took it to Tristan, and he didn't stop until Tristan was blue in the face, not breathing, or he was just horribly beaten & ~dad~ knew he had gone too far. So, out the door they went. Was little Tristan's body in the trunk or in a paper bag, etc.? And while driving, ~dad~ was thinking of a place to dump his son and thinking about a story to tell everybody...

It just seems odd (and a little cruel) for LE to go after mom so quickly if she had nothing to do with Tristan's death. Why would they put her in jail on a misdemeanor if they were convinced she had no knowledge of what happened?

Right now the timeline stinks. I'm not sure when mom left for work - Tristan was supposedly last seen at 8 am and was not reported missing until 1:15 pm but I can't find info on who saw him last, mom or dad.

And now this, from the 911 call:

In a 911 called released Friday by Raleigh police, the caller told the dispatcher she woke up 15 minutes previously to find a 3-year-old missing.

The caller said there was a package outside the house and the child was gone.

The caller tells 911 she has walked around the complex screaming for the child and that neighbors are out looking for him.

She also says she isn't sure if the child can open the door to get out of the apartment.

“He can close it and unlock it but I haven't seen him able to open it,” the caller said.

If mom made this call, her work hours that morning must have been just about 4 or 5 -- If dad worked a night shift, where was he? He should have been in bed asleep, seems to me. Wouldn't she have assumed Tristan was with dad or at day care/school if he went? Why the panic? Or either I am way off and don't know what the usual home schedule was supposed to be. I'm missing something here...

Subsequent news reports confirmed it was mom who made the call. What we don't know yet is who allegedly saw Tristan around 7:45 or 8 am - mom or dad? And did they really see him or are both parents lying?

If the recovered remains are Tristan's then we have an idea of where dad was for at least an hour or so.

I think LE will release more details once they have possession of a body. Right now I'm not seeing mom as an innocent party here - she may be covering for dad - but I hope I'm wrong.

Well, speak of the devil:

Authorities have now charged Briana Dangerfield with attempting to conceal the murder of 2-year-old Tristan Blue, altering and destroying evidence, and concealing the death of the child. Her bond is now set at $1 million. She was also ordered not to leave the state, surrender her U.S. passport, and have no connect with Stephen Blue.

Wow. Just wow.

This is all so sad. How far from the home were the remains found? (oh, I see someone said 25 miles) Tristan couldn't have wandered there by himself? (no, not if it's 25 miles) I wanted to believe it was some kind of accident, but it's no accident if the body was hidden out there. Oh, it's just awful and I can't imagine what happened to this sweet little boy.

:l I have family that live along that lake. They are out of town for the holidays but I'm sure they will be distressed by the news.

Trying to put the pieces together. Who made this call? The Mom called, I'm guessing.

"And in a recording released earlier Friday, an unidentified woman called 911, saying she worked overnight and that when she woke up around noon on Wednesday, the boy was gone."

"I woke up – I don't know, I guess maybe 15 minutes ago. The front door was open," she said in the 1:11 p.m. call. "There was a package outside, and the 3-year-old was not in the house."

If the remains are Tristan's (and I believe they are) he was found in Beaver Dam Lake, about 25 miles away. This was no accident; dad was arrested for his murder 24 hours after Tristan was reported missing - while LE was still searching for him. :(

LE found something in dad's car that was enough probable cause for his arrest. Don't know what it was though.

ETA: It was mom who called 911.

I notice Tristan and his mother have similar forehead coloration. Like a birth mark?

What happened to Tristan? It's very disturbing to imagine a little boy probably looking forward to Christmas ending up deceased in some lake area. Neighbor said good things about the father. What happened?

Still catching up. I'm even more confused after watching the video with the neighbor lady talking about how happy Tristan always was. Don't know what to make of her reporting that things seemed to be changing after Thanksgiving and parents getting ready to move, and those boxes of baby things. I need more info, but it sounds like something changed. He was a happy little boy and they seemed to be involved parents, now this little boy is deceased.

Yep, a pretty nice guy - except when he was murdering his son and driving his limp little body to dump in a lake like trash.

And this is the lady who enjoyed posting pictures of her son on FB. The same lady who just a few days ago chose to let her beautiful little boy rot in that lake because protecting her son's murderer was more important to her than Tristan.

I am so angry.

So the mom knew, huh?

This just gets worse and worse. Tristan, I'm so sorry.
