Yea the arrest last year at her high school on Wednesday morning was just too coincidental for me
Hmmm -- Thanks -- somehow I missed that detail. SMH.Yea the arrest last year at her high school on Wednesday morning was just too coincidental for me
Police said Devin Cordell Jones, 17, is accused of killing Baker Saturday night and the others -- Keyshara Michelle Deans, 19, Nezyiha Zamir Collins, 19, and Tyreek Qumay Rogers, 18 -- were charged with felony accessory for helping Jones.
Did she know these people or was it random?
Well, according to his home address he does not technically live in her school district.
However, his prior arrest for larceny lists the physical address for Garner High, which is where she graduated from. So, there is that. They may have known each other.

Yes, indeed, they are in a heap of trouble. They are young, but still, they (he) knew better. I hope they are all shaking & crying & scared & getting no sleep. They have thrown themselves away, BUT they are still alive and taking breaths. Grrrrr.Weapons charges, aiding and abetting a person during and after a felony murder, assisting the murderer across state lines. Not one of them thought to get help for that poor girl, they left her to die in the freaking parking lot.
They are all in a whole lot of trouble regardless of who did what. Rightly so. Imo.
I haven't been able to see any connections on social media. Veronica's FB doesn't show friends.
In Wake County, NC, students are reassigned to districts all the time due to population growth in this area. Students are bussed all over. That could explain why he doesn't live in Garner High's "home" district.

The question of "Why?" doesn't even matter, IMO.
It's done, and her parents, family, and close friends will never be the same. Never. Even the person who called 911 will never be the same.
I’m thinking “Why” could matter. If she was murdered while another felony was being committed by the suspects, aggravated charges would be added. She may not have been involved at all with what they were doing - just wrong place, wrong time.
Yes, you're quite right -- it could matter -- and depending, as you say, could indeed up the ante for some or all of the foursome.
I was just angry and sick of these kinds of things, as we all are, and I put it on the page. SMH.
So is this why she was killed?Just saw this:

or did they think that she was in possession of this?Baker's parents have said they believe she was robbed. They said Baker was carrying a $600 Gucci purse when she was murdered.
(both from your link)He said a video Baker posted on Facebook holding a wad of cash was taken at the family home, and his daughter was holding money he used to buy a car and was taken inside their home.
Maybe it was, but I can think of a lot more practical gifts to give a young woman going off to leave home and go to college, than a $600 handbag.Maybe the Gucci purse was a H.S. graduation present.

So why call it a $600 handbag if it did not cost $600 and you could buy it in an op shop for cents on the dollar. That seems to me to be a strange thing to say.I think the father’s oblique reference to his daughter having hung out with both “good” and “bad” crowds of her peers and making some “poor decisions” is interesting.
“He explained Baker had never been in trouble before, but was a teenager and sometimes made poor decisions. He didn’t go into specifics about those troubles.
To the question about the cash: “He said a video Baker posted on Facebook holding a wad of cash was taken at the family home, and his daughter was holding money he used to buy a car and was taken inside their home.”
Finally, about the purse: I own some ridiculously expensive handbags, all of which I have purchased secondhand or at a consignment shop. You would never know that, to see them, but I think it is entirely possible that the purse may have been a graduation present and/or may not have been as extravagant (financially) as it might seem.
Above thoughts are MOO!
