From reading what's been posted my current theory is moms bf fancied tori and had an opportunity to take her to the spot and "calm her down". Tori struggled and was killed by B. B then commits suicide from guilt or not wanting to face the consequences. Questions I have tho is how did B end up at the bar where Tori was? And was he questioned by LE after she was missing and then killed himself 2 days later ? All imo of course.

Although I seen that someone mentioned that B talked to the police after she went missing, I haven't read any actual reports that he did.

You can search "Tori Scofield" in Facebook. Don't click on her profile, but scroll down to see what others have posted about her and read comments. Just don't bring the info here as it is local rumor/unverified. Hope that helps!

* Investigators are still baffled by the death of Tori Scofield, 19, of Asheboro who was last seen leaving a Randleman bar with her mother’s boyfriend on Sept. 21. Her body was found Sept. 24 by her biological parents in a remote wooded area off Covered Bridge Road southwest of Asheboro. A team of pathologists with the State Medical Examiner’s office remain “perplexed” by the cause of her death. To add to the puzzle, her mother’s boyfriend, Ben Smith, is believed to have committed suicide the same day Tori’s body was found.​

There is no update currently. I have personally spoken with the medical examiners office in Raleigh and they have not released the report yet because it’s still pending.
