I live just a couple miles from here and this has just sickened our family... Both the situation and the inconsistencies with the stories.

I wish we were meeting under better circumstances!

Are the pit bulls there because it is on the property of a business? Or do they belong to the family?

Questions: Does the family live in a house that is behind a tire business? Is the father or stepmother employed at the business? Is the house rented from the business owner?

The guy who says he is stepmom's ex-husband said in comments posted elsewhere last night that the house belongs to the husband's boss and the family is renting it. No idea on the other stuff, though.

I haven't read most of this thread, and I don't know if it was brought up, but I sure hope that brush fire wasn't set to burn her prosthetic leg so it wouldn't be found. I have no idea how flammable or inflammable prosthetics are, but that did occur to me. I sure would like more info on that fire...

This just keeps worse and worse by the moment, poor little girl...

It's because google maps screws up the directional aspect of streets denoted as N/W/S/E etc. Try deleting the first part of the 21, add the rest of the address and just putting in zipcode. Or better yet, google earth and do the same.

If it is true that abuse was reported to DSS and nothing was done, it does not shock me. Would this have been in NC? Because DSS in NC failed Shaniya before and after death. IMO

I haven't heard of any local help with searches, but I will update if I hear anything.
I grew up and still live in Viewmont about 10 streets north of where this happened. There are lots of houses and developments, but lots of wooded areas and the lake which someone previous had mentioned. I hate to stereotype, but I simply don't like the stepmother's reported history or looks. I have a young child and to not check on her in approx 12 hours is beyond my comprehension. My prayers and thoughs are with Zahra.
