Well, Oriah, I am the same. I just keep sighing with every new news clip. It is constantly changing as in the Caylee Anthony case.

I think we should all light a candle tonight as we go to bed and say a prayer for Zahra.

Adkins said a ransom note and other evidence were found at the house but wouldn’t elaborate. A reporter saw what appeared to be remnants of clothes among burned branches from the fire at the scene.

Adkins said the father was cooperating with police, but Elisa Baker wasn’t.

I wonder if he's butted heads with his boss. The note said the boss likes to be in control, and the pot smoking youngster part was a bit inflammatory if it was intended to imply that he's got a secret pothead son somewhere.

Dunno, maybe it was just because he owns the house and there is a connection and he's the only person they know who is likely to have a million dollars to spare.

If I had to guess, I'd venture that they were trying to make it look like someone else. Maybe someone who they know recently did butt heads with the boss or who was recently fired. The son thing may have been thrown in as a "Well, it certainly wasn't US -- we KNOW he doesn't have a son, so look elsewhere!" type thing.

(Or maybe a coworker or former one thought some dude they'd seen with the boss was his son and commented on it to others at work, which would point the finger right at that person.)

Police revealed new twists in the investigation of missing 10-year-old Zahra Baker today, including the existence of a $1 million ransom note, positive dog alerts for human remains in cars belonging to both of her parents, and doubts about the parent's timeline dating back as far as a month.

Coffey reportedly owns the property on which the Bakers live and was present the day Zahra was reported missing.

The ransom note was discovered on the windshield of Baker's car by officers responding to a fire in the Baker's backyard about 5:30 a.m. However, it wasn't until 2 p.m. that Baker called police to report Zahra missing.

Investigators seized several items from the Baker home, including two gas cans, burn samples from the morning fire and drug paraphernalia, the warrant states. Two samples of "possible blood" were taken from one of the cars, according to a warrant.

I am with you on that 100%.

That- and no harm in please watching out for everyone elses kids. I know ya'll watch your own, but please notice the ones that don't show up where they should- the ones that aren't yours. You never know when it might make a difference.

Wonder if the boss and his daughter ever lived in that address. If not it would make the story even more unlikely than it seems now.

I think LE hasn't served the dad with warrants because they want him to keep talking & not lawyer up.

I wonder if stepmom has called him from jail? They could let something slip.

If they are both in jail, no convo.

Kimster said earlier it was okay to go ahead and sleuth her, so I think you're fine posting that info. Thank you!

If someone posted this from the most recent ABC article, I missed it:

"Former neighbors told ABC News that the stepmother was a stern and cold parent, forcing the child the walk long distances on her prosthetic leg and grounding her for lagging behind."

What a witch!

:furious::furious: Pure evil IMO.
Child abuse pure and simple.

By the way, I received a very nice email from the officer to whom I sent the myspace link earlier. He thanked us (told him someone here had found the info). He said he has someone assigned to social media investigation and that they had turned up that site, but asked if we turn up anything else, to please let him know.

ETA -- After reading Kimster's post, thought I'd mention that if you do find something and want to submit it, might want to run it by the mods first, and I will give them this officer's contact info. :)

How sad :-( What previous neighbors have been saying sure doesn't jibe with the 'concerned-involved-caring-stepmom' in the hearing aid video....I suppose that may have been an 'act' put on for the cameras.

This looks worse every time I check in. Would cadaver dogs hit on dried blood in the cars or would there have to have been a body?

When did the school year begin there? How often does the county check in with homeschoolers?

Note found the night before & nobody checked the child! A $1million ransom to a family who lives in a modest, rented house? Excuse me, the Tooth Fairy is at my door......
