Me too passion. Who could forget that sweet smile? I'm glad that someone came forth stating she saw her two weeks before she went missing. I wonder if any purchases were made at the furniture store and what it was. (I am nosy)

I'm watching Nancy Grace right now, and I don't think she was in the attic either. It would be much more disturbed if she were -- but it looks like a normal attic to me. They may have hidden things up there, but I don't think it was Zahra.

Authorities charged with the gruesome task of searching for the body of missing North Carolina girl Zahra Baker have had to continually expand their search after previous efforts turned up little.

...maybe she got it when her and AB were running at each other like fighting male seals in the carpark, or (wishful thinking) maybe Zahra got one in when she was trying to defend herself, but I doubt it.

Also look at these three pics, bearing in mind the one with the black eye was taken in May that's a pretty stunning physical transformation in 5 months...I'm thinking 'substances' perhaps meth were involved there.

EB's daughter has stated the black eye came after SHE got into a fight with HER.

To add two more photos to the pile ..... shows the weight loss / sunken eyes has been happening pretty much since AB met her ? ? I wish media would pick up on this.

I have been thinking of the timeline of last Saturday morning at the Bakers residence.
The reported fire was at 6 am - That is when the investigators, police found the fake ransom note in or near the car.
Investigators, police talk to AB and EB just after the fire with questions till about 7 - 7:30 am according to AB.
I believe the investigators and/ or police would have questioned AB and EB about the ransom note that was found in or around the car.
Then AB states that he goes back to bd at 7:30 am till around 11 am.
Neither AB or EB check on Zahra in all the commotion of the fire with a ransom note???
AB then goes to check on a job at 11 am till around 2:30 pm.
At 2:30 pm Zahra is reported missing by AB.
If you think about this timeline with a fire, a ransom note, sleeping, working, noticing that Zahra is missing at 2:30 pm makes NO sense at all!!!!! And it also indicates to me that both AB and EB were definately involved in Zahra's disappearance. The writer of the ransom note, EB, was directly involved with the disappearance of this beautiful child or it would have never existed in the first place. However, could EB and AB owed drug money to someone or an enemy of AB and EB taken Zahra and that is why they are covering all this up? Just a few points to ponder......

This looks like a drug transformation to me. Hopefully, as stated, Zahra hit her in the eye at some point defending herself. I still can't get over the pics. Excuse me, I can't remember and there are so many threads, how old is this woman? Anyone?

• Born 2000 in Wagga, Queensland, Australia
• 2001, father and mother divorce.
• In 2004, moved with her father to the North Queesnland township of Giru.
• 2005, diagnosed with a form of bone cancer that led to hearing loss and amputation of lower left leg.
• 2007, diagnosed with secondary lung cancer.
• 2008, cancer was declared in remission.
• 2008, moved to North Carolina with her father and new stepmother.
• 2010, approximately early September, moved with father and stepmother from Granite Falls area to Hickory.
• 2010, Oct. 9, reported missing from Hickory home.

Also Friday, Elisa Baker's attorney Scott Reilly confirmed to the Observer that the Department of Social Services had received and investigated allegations that Zahra had been abused. But investigators, he said, did not substantiate complaints against his client.

Reilly declined to discuss the allegations but said some people have "embellished, exaggerated or made up" stories of abuse.

Family and acquaintances have repeatedly said they saw Zahra with black eyes and bruises. They have also said they reported suspected abuse to DSS on several occasions.

I agree. How does a "devoted" father not remember the last time he saw his only child? Especially one who survived cancer, not once, but TWICE in her short decade of life and who was suffering from a stomach bug & probably needed to be checked on regularly? My kids are 8 & 16 and I STILL check on my 16yo when he is sick with a bug. I don't buy it :snooty:

My mind is about ready to crash from lack of sleep, so bear with me if the following seems disjointed or kooky! :crazy:

IMO, he is probably innocent of physically harming Zahra but his mind is reeling over all that has happened and he is trying to mentally come to terms with his passive role in Zahra's life since moving to the US. If he is reading anything on the net, he is probably shocked by the accusations and, unless he has had a lobotomy, starting to feel responsible for her demise (even though he did not actually do anything).

I grew up with a step parent who made it VERY clear I was in the way and did everything in his power to drive my mother & I apart (and succeeded). My mom believed him because he brainwashed her into thinking I was the one to blame (yeah, all 10yo girls want to sabotage their mom's happiness :innocent: ). She was so caught up her own quest for fulfillment that she totally lost sight of the one person who loved her unconditionally and without judgment. Honestly, I believe AB is finally seeing EB for what she truly is and his entire world has been shattered. Doesn't excuse his poor choices or willingness to stand by & watch his daughter be abused/mistreated, but it may explain his past actions (or lack thereof).

Sounds crazy, but I think EB had him completely brainwashed and controlled every move he made.

Didn't AB's boss or coworker say that they could tell EB was controlling? Off to find that link!

Another thing I posted in the last thread, but I can't stop thinking about. I think EB was poisoning Zahra or maybe even drugging her (hence the reason she was not seen outside for who knows how long and was bedridden with a bug). With all EB's talk of being ill, having cancer, kids with leukemia (that were perfectly healthy), etc... she obviously was obsessed with receiving attention and feigning sickness seemed to be the best way for her to get it. Poisoning someone to get attention or simply to eliminate the competition is NOT that uncommon.

All my opinion, of course.

We've all heard the family, friends, & neighbors say how mean & short-tempered EB was, but this guys words make me wonder just how bad WAS she?

Okay, It's getting late here now too so bare with me, but an 'out there' theory came to me today .One that I can bounce off your post, cause it's even whackier than yours!

Re: SM poisoning Zahra...what if she did poison or drug Zahra, and convinced an already depressed and brainwashed AB into believing that Zahra's cancer had returned? And that this was the. end.
And he decided to let his daughter go. No more hospital visits, no more treatments, no more loss of hair , hearing or limbs, just peace?

Then if he saw bruising, Zahra being sick, losing weight, etc it would just look like a natural cancer death to him.

Or a variant on this theory: that she convinced him Zahra was dying and they both participated in what was a mercy killing for AB , so Zahra didn't have to suffer a long painful death , and a murder on EB's part to get more attention for herself.

Another thing I want to bring up before I log out and fall waaaay behind again is the comment on AB's brothers myspace page from SM back in Feb.


The one where she says something about planning on post marking letters that Zahra had written to them that week.... And them missing Zahra and Zahra missing them. ( fam in oz)

Is it familiar to anyone to use the term "post mark" instead of just 'post'? As in.... "I'll try to post the letters out this week"?

If not, does post-mark imply you want a date established for say, I dunno, a pre-meditated murder?:waitasec:

Or could she just mean she's posting the letters to a person called Mark? Doubt it, but throwing in it for good measure.

And I just wonder why, if SM could message the fam on MS, why couldn't Zahra do that herself instead of writing letters? Was she not allowed to use the 'puter to have some outside contact? To feel closer to her family back in Oz in real time whenever and how often she wanted to? To have some freedom....especially if she was inside their various houses, rather than playing outside most of the time.

I wonder if the family ever recieved those letters?

I wonder if Zahra ever felt proud that she'd been a 'good girl' for Daddy and SM by covering any signs of abuse with authorities so they wouldn't get into trouble?
I wish she knew she was a good girl....a perfect girl.....so brave, so strong.... a hero, who didn't need to protect those who weren't protecting her.

Okay pondering again. In the interview when the reporter asked AB when the last time he actually saw Zahra he said Tuesday night, I believe. But then his reasoning for not checking in on her Friday night/Saturday morning was because she'd had a stomach virus and didn't want to disturb her. So either he made up the whole stomach virus excuse, or that's just what EB told him to keep him from checking. I wonder how long she had been "sick"? If she was actually sick the last time he saw her, or just that day?

Wouldnt Zahra get disability payments and medical care here in the states or would that depend on if she was a citizen? I would think her leg and hearing and cancer would make her eligible. I dont see SM giving up free money? Makes me wonder how long Zahra would have been (sarcastically meant) grounded to her room and not allowed to come out to see people if things had turned out differently? MOO

I am thinking she is more like 50's????
She is very young to have a grandchild as old as Zahra (in photo's???).

hoping also that LE checked every house/business that AB worked in the last 2 weeks!!!!

I am just sick over this little girl...sick. Why anyone, anywhere can harm a precious child is beyond what my mind can explore...I hope she is found very soon and those responsible brought to swift justice.
These cases are wearing me down, Caylee, Haleigh, Kyron, Baby Gabriel, Zahra...Jon Benet, honestly there's not enough space to name them all, and these are just the ones we know of...what about all the others that are suffering under an abusive hand...
Our laws need to change, our children need protection.
Am going to have to back away...my Cymbalta is not curbing the edge of this sadness.
