Good thoughts. Zahra had two cats at the trailer park (I think it was there) and she wasn't allowed to bring them along for the next move. Zahra had to leave her kittens behind. This poor child, with the exception of her dad, she was taken away from everyone and everything she ever loved. moo mho

The cats would have been smelling a couple days or a week after they moved out in July. Not the middle of September. jmo

Watching this again.....interesting that she says that Elisa called her on the Friday night to ask her to drop the charges against her for threatening her daughter, then Zahra is reported missing the next day. Wonder did she want the charges dropped because she had already done something to Zahra and was worried at how that would look, or did the fact she couldn't convince her to drop the charges infuriate Elisa.

I wonder if she was going to try to blame the disappearance of Zahra on her. She presses charges when Elisa threatens her daughter, and, in retaliation to those threats, she does something to Zahra (Or so it would appear, according to Elisa's plan).

I know that sounds crazy, but, Elisa has shown herself to be nuts and vindictive.

Dunno, this whole case is making me crazy. I have these fantasies that I find Zahra and bring her home to take care of her.

Whats the old saying CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT...I saw so many references to the Ethan Stacy case on here I HAD TO GO LOOK IT UP!!! bless the hearts of each and every one of you that stayed with that case!!!!I cant quit crying!!!

That case was just horrific. I stayed awake over that one just trying to wrap my mind around it. How can someone do such horrible things?

I've read bits and pieces of this thread and didn't learn too much, so I have a few questions.

We know Zahra had bone cancer. The main treatment for that type is amputation of the limb with the tumor. (pathology class ftw!) The survival rate for bone cancer isn't that high though. I think my notes said only 20% are alive after 5 years.
So I'd like to know:
When was she first diagnosed? Was she is AU?
Was she in remission?
When did she go into remission?
Did the cancer ever come back?
When was her last Dr. appt?
How long was she kept ... isolated from others?

What I'm saying, is maybe her cancer came back.. and she got sick from that and died from lack of treatment.

I'm NOT trying to say her family didn't kill her. The bit I did read unfortunately was about the wood chipper. I am sure they caused her death, be it through killing her outright or her dying from neglect from ignoring a possible reaccurance of her cancer.

I was going to comment that maybe they sold her for drug money, but then I saw the bit about blood and burning cars and smells and whatever else.

Beautiful, slightly chilly day in Hickory. No activity seen at Hickory house....no LE, no news reporters...only the mailman dropping off mail! The yard is starting to fill up with stuffed animals, balloons, etc...little by little. Lets hope for answers this weekend!

That little fragile baby boy, tortured, murdered and posthumously MUTILATED by those two disgusting, self-absorbed P'sOS...ugh, how can anyone ever comprehend it? Little Zahra has stirred those same feelings inside...WTH?? How can an adult hurt and/or kill a helpless child?:furious:

Zahra's birthdate isn't in 2000, it's actually November 16, 1999 She would turn 11 next month.

Looks like darlin gal answered most of your questions.

Here is a link for different kinds of bone cancer found in children. Maybe she has one of the first three...survival rates are included. Zahra also had mets to the lungs which would make her medical condition very iffy. moo

I am somewhat positive that the hearing loss was a result of the chemotherapy she was given - twice. chemotherapy is very toxic and the docs must have thought that Zahra needed high doses for survival...those high doses of chemo can affect hearing and cause the high pitch hearing loss Zahra has. moo mho

If Zahra wasn't taken for any medical treatment - how is that not killing her?

Hickory authorities continued their search Friday into the disappearance of Zahra Baker, returning to the parents’ home to remove a bed and bags of potential evidence that may help them piece together what happened to the 10-year-old girl, the Associated Press reported.

I didn't follow Ethan's case although now I'm tempted to read up on it. However, I can only handle so much evil at once. I think I'll save it for later...

As for Shaniya, no other case has affected me like that one. I had to take a break from WS afterwards. To those of you who sleuthed/followed it along with me, ((((hugs))))...

Burial takes too much time and effort and too much of a chance of being seen. I'm still very curious of the landfill and that dumpster behind the resturant LE took the other day. Much easier to put her in that dumpster in the early morning hours right before pick-up KWIM? When was the last time that dumpster was picked up?

It still isn't clear to me, however, how 'indications of human remains' were present in both vehicles unless the person who disposed of her body first put it in one and then in the other. I also wonder if there is a place he would go to to dispose of yard debris other than by putting her into a dumpster in order for her to get to a landfill. MOO

That's a possibility, however, I just feel she was disposed of somewhere or in some manner that wouldn't be directly tied to either of them. MOO

I can't seem to figure out a time-line for when/where Zahra lived. I remember that she had the cats in the mobile home park. My guess is that the next rental would not allow cats or SM and dad didn't want them along(spiteful?). I don't know.

Do I think SM tried to find a home for the kittens - NO, it wouldn't fit in with her sadistic self. I have no idea where Zahra's kittens ended up. i can only guess. moo mho

I think SM was giving Zahra something to make her listless,so she could use her to get attention. Then she OD...
This may be waaay farfetched,but maybe Zarha wrote something on the bedframe... Behind the headboard?
She certanly seemed smarter than her SM or dad..
How many dogs did they have? There was a case (VERY long ago) where a man with aligators as a roadside attraction fed his victims to them.. Very hard to prove then.

You could be right, and it wouldn't even have to be a climate controlled one or one w/ electric outlet.....I know I've seen/read of multiple cases where some perp had a body stored in a mini-warehouse in either a freezer or a sealed barrel or whatever. For YEARS even and apparently as long as it is in a well sealed container, the smell doesn't escape. A freezer (or even refrigerator) would seal like that.
