Mark K commenting on the missing vehicle YEA YEA YEA

Natisha: 1970 monte carlo - car disappeared around same time Zahra did. Car was seen when they lived in Granite Falls and when they moved to Hickory - not seen again.

Jean C: (about car) 2 cars found at home - Tahoe and Camry but a family friend is saying the monte carlo disappeared around mid sept. Don't know about poly

NG: saying that if he had taken a poly and passed we all would have known that by know. What father doesn't see a child from Thurs to Sat?

Hey WSers, have been lurking as best I can while traveling--not caught up to end of this thread yet but again I ask, have they started searching Hickory Lake???

If Law Enforcement wouldn't have said this is a homicide, I'd almost think this was a scam... The main players acting like they are and all.. How they say they reported it, but not a tear of what they witnessed... or any sorrow of what Zahra has gone through..

I've witnessed my girlfriend being abused when I was very little.... Thinkin back about it now even, makes me cry...

I can barely say the word abused without crying.. How can these people....??

Is there a glimmer of hope that LE rushed to judgement?? How did they come up with homicide so quick... the dogs?? The randsom note..?? The glove..??

I really want to know WHY LE thinks this is a homicide... The proof..
why is her artificial leg missing.... Why is AY wishing sweet dreams at night??

I dunno,,, even the LE is human and they to can make mistakes...
(ignore me... :) wishful thinking....

may the light shine on the darkness...

Police getting medical records of missing North Carolina girl
October 19, 2010 -- Updated 0727 GMT

(CNN) -- North Carolina authorities have been in contact with Zahra Baker's biological mother in Australia and have asked for the medical records of the missing 10-year-old girl.

"We're in the process of getting medical information from Australia and we're in the process of getting medical records here," said Clyde Deal, the deputy police chief of Hickory, North Carolina, on Monday.

Officials did not specify what kind of medical records they were seeking. But often, investigators ask for access to dental records for help with identification of bodies.

This does not sound good if they are asking the biological mother for Zahra's medical records.

I'm not sure why they want the records from Zahra's mother rather than her grandmother. What medical records would you have for a child up to 8 mths?

I'll bet that they are asking for blood samples from her too... for DNA..:(

Nothing about Zahra on the major networks that I have seen tonight. This is disappointing. It seems the online press are the only ones now keeping up with this story in Australia. Should have known not to expect to much from our media here.

Man, this thing called "work" really sucks! It cuts into my WS time and now I've only just caught up. I was on holidays last week so had heaps of free time.

A few things:

1. even if the bail is lowered (is that the right word?) what are they going to pay it with, bad cheques?
2. "hi, how you doing"? argh
3. I'm glad KB would roast AB's behind if and when she caught up with him. She was against him taking Zahra to the US anyway, so I'm sure she can't wait to smack him upside the head and say "see? I told you it wouldn't work out with the gothicfairy!"
4. thanks to all the locals for both your local knowledge and your willingness to share it!

To compare with what they have found, maybe on the bed, etc. taken from the house?

The dogs hit on the cars too... They removed the consel out of the Tahoe (SUV) They took 3 swabs of what looked like blood from the Tahoe..

They also removed burnt material from the Tahoe and also the brush fire...

They may need samples of mitochondrial DNA for purposes of comparison.

If her parental rights weren't ever terminated, LE could also be seeking her help to more easily procure medical records. (I've no idea what the laws are in Australia regarding international records requests, but there could be a lot of red tape that might be more easily dealt with via parental consent of a residing parent).

By the way, your signature line really touches my heart. It's good to be reminded how very real and precious all our service members are. Praying that he and all our troops return safely.

Personally... I don't understand why they didn't take her bedroom set/belongings the first time they were there.... They knew EB wrote the ransom note, family telling the press about the beatingings Zahra took, and 3 days later they take the mattress and such..??? and more ????? Maybe she bought the mattress after Sept. 25 th and if there is no DNA of Zahra's, two people are in going to be in alot of sh*t... I can dream... :D P.S. Thanks Sherbie... It means alot...

They might not be getting "enough" assistance from AB in the DNA area and need to resort to asking the mother.

Thats what I'm thinking too... Anyways, With a straight blood sample from the mom it would be much better... (no cunfusion there)..

Any chance AB took a DNA test to establish parentage? Would that be in Zahra's early records with the mother. Assuming he has refused to give DNA to LE which may explain their comment about not believing how authentic his concern was?

ETA see that's been addressed upthread!!

O/T..Thanks Mrs. G for that link to JVM and NG... Couldn't keep up with the cable bill... :(

  • #359
Have LE said -- or has AB answered -- whether he was aware that his wife had written the ransom note? I assume he has denied that, but I haven't seen anything to confirm it. I would like to see a reporter ask him that question next time there's any access to him.

How good is that channel!! I only discovered it a few weeks ago and couldn't believe it. Such perfect timing here too, starts just as I settle into my desk at work. Sure my traffic manager wouldn't agree tho, and it's not easy to shuffle between JVM, NG, WS, and whatever is happening with what I'm supposed to be focusing on.
