I just get this sickining feeling in the pit of my stomach when I think about that mattress being taken by LE..
and todays pressor makes me think it even more... (paraphrasing) They said after interviewing people they have decided to check the landfill... I think a neighbor has seen a mattress along side the road for garbage pick-up... maybe at or near one of the old addresses. I think this maybe why they have a death scent in the Tahoe...and LE has taken the bed set because they suspect that they will not find Zahra's DNA on it.. Could also be why they were still questing if Zahra actually moved there... I get a lump in my thoat just typing this... as always ...JMO

JMO a mattress is a pretty big item I dont think it would take up to 5 days to locate it???

I don't believe this to be true. Different counties will cooperate and assist the LE from where the crime was committed, but they aren't put in charge of the investigation in their county. It would still be Deal. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the way it works .

The FBI is involved too! :woohoo:

No but maybe you can find a time that she wasn't being charged with something in NC LOL.

ETA...oops missed your post. Oh well it was worth a try.

:floorlaugh: yeah...look for a gap inbetween charges...LOL :floorlaugh:

one little problem - the boss had his daughter. :innocent: lol

Right, they would have said the kidnappers took the wrong girl. Especially since Mr. Coffee owned that house. A shame Elisa's mind was too fogged up to think of adding “no police or else she dies” to her ransom note..

As I was going over all the really wonderful references you guys have so very kindly provided today, I ran across the EB mug shot and noticed for the first time how she appears to have a very self satisfied smirk on her face............as if to say ............ "You'll never know.........."

Gave me the creeps -:curses:

Yep AB is all over the place IMO. First on tv he says that ZH was always "happy and smiling" and suddenly in the 911 call.. she's brooding?! Which is it!!!!

Both statements could be true. She had always been a happy child until recently when she got 'broody from the onset of puberty' -which imo, was probably a recent excuse given by EB about why Zahra was always in her room.

ITA with Patty G's post about this. ([ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5708508&postcount=72"]Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - NC NC - Zahra Claire Baker, 10, Hickory, 9 Oct 2010 # 18[/ame])

I have an 11 yr old neice who lives with her single parent dad, and I'm the one that talks to her about 'womens business' because he's just too uncomfortable discussing the whole thing with her, and knows that it's better and less embarrassing for her to be talking to a female relative, who knows the real in's and out's of it.

And so many men say that once their daughters hit puberty they aren't 'daddy's little girl 'anymore, and distance themselves from their dads....so it's not hard for me to believe that AB would trust EB if she said that it was 'just puberty', even if the real reason for her brooding and being in her room was to get away from EB.

Not atypical at all imo, for a dad to leave the hormone issues up to mum, and to be completely clueless about hormones and everything that comes along with them.

Very creepy, indeed. Did anyone ever find audio of when she was arrested and they were putting her into the car? I was so wanting to know what she was hollering when she was having her fit.

I agree butwhatif, I think the puberty thing was an excuse provided by EB to explain Zahra's constant presence in her room.

Daddies are so uncomfortable with this topic they will usually change the subject posthaste.

Why didn't they just "move" again after getting rid of the body instead of staging a mistaken identity abduction.

The school wouldn't have been looking for her anytime soon if at all. There is no family that seems like they would have raised major flags or reported them missing, at least not right away. They lived a flakey and nomadic life, it wouldn't have been out of character for them.

I know it is not guaranteed to work for them but it seems like a better plan than the one they went with.

my guess, half of it was bleeped out anyways, I'm sure some newscrew caught it, but if they ever ran it with audio, I sure haven't seen it linked as yet.

I think that within the next few days....we will all hear about a mattress that was found....sadly....with a body in it.....and sewn shut.

wonder if someone was demanding to see her. Maybe bio mom, maybe EB family, maybe education officials over the "homeschooling", who knows.

Maybe there just wasn't time to find a new place, load up the truck and head on out. Perhaps someone (one of the many family members EB was feuding with) threatened to come over there and start something.

Suddenly this idea takes hold, the idea of someone "startin something" and Z being harmed/kidnapped in the process. Who knws, my mind has gone round and round the whole fire, note thing. I cannot for the life of me figure out the thought process.

Could have been they were afraid people were going to start coming around, checking on Zahra. I do remember seeing in a couple of reports about the schools calling to follow up on her home schooling and neither AB nor EB answered or returned their calls.

Sounds like speculation. speculation is allowed. careful on the mysterious sources though.

That would mean a purchase of a new matress prior or . . .

EB was furniture shopping, we don't know from LE or media what was purchased. I had heard about looking at living room sets. Pretty cold to take Z with to buy a new matress on ly to dispose of her in the old?

I don't know, I will have to wait and see what LE locates. Whatever it is I hope they find it.

Maybe because of the BB court case coming up---maybe that was the one thing she wasn't going to be able to slip her way out of?

I agree dads are uncomfortable about talking about the topic... which makes it strange to me that he told the 911 operator about it... a complete stranger:angel:...
