Drug addiction stopped family calling authorities
TOWNSVILLE BULLETIN | October 20th, 2010

TWO family members of Elisa Baker who told US media last week they had seen missing girl Zahra Baker being abused by her stepmother said this week that the drug addiction of one of them contributed to them never calling authorities.

The mattress theory also makes me wonder if there were any other furniture store, freecycle website members, etc who came forward and remember EB or someone purchasing or getting given a new or newer mattress.

We have heard alot of dirt and rumor and mutliple reports of witnessing or suspecting abuse.

What if LE have heard a lot more substantial things from witnesses that have been asked not to speak of certain fact til after LE has investigated and oks it?

Has anyone heard what kind of drugs EB was supposedly dealing? I am so mad the reporter did not ask Brittany Bentley that question.

IMO, there is a big differnence from pot to meth and crack.

They are all illegal, as is abuse of prescription pills, but I do see your point. Different drugs change the personality to varrying degrees and in varying ways.

I can't figure out how the reporter didn't ask such an obvious next quetsion either, lol

These are my thoughts exactly.... I think forensics came back and showed that there was no sign of that mattress being used by Zahra... so where is the old mattress..??? or maybe there wasn't one..?? :waitasec:

But why would they get another mattress?? :waitasec:

And how would this mattress nail down the last time Zahra was seen...or help account for the timeline?

Well, I tried searching all her known aliases plus a DOB search and nothing comes up in SC criminal records.

If she was there, she was either on her best behavior - or she wasn't there very long!.. lol

Wonder if she wrote any checks while in Oz?

If true, thats got to be a tough thing to admit and live with.

Yes! Brittany Bentley really made me so mad. :banghead:

She made sure she and her baby were protected against EB though but left Zahra to fend for herself. :furious:

I dont think when she and her mom made their media appearance (15 mins) - they realized the backlash it was going to cause.

Deservingly so, IMO.

If we agree with LE that this IS a homocide, I can take comfort that Zahra is free from whatever harmed her in this life, she is completely unencumbered by any of this life's trouble, pain or fear. It helps me sleep at night when our lost little ones are in my thoughts most.

Maybe to make everything in Zahra's room 'look' normal? I don't think they thought far enough ahead about forensics. IMO

I'm thinking that the old one had too much evidence on it..possibly blood or remains... or decomp... It sadden's me to think this...but maybe she was left on that bed for some time until they could figure out what to do... They replaced the thrown out mattress with a new one to appear as though she was taken from that bed... again...JMO I think the old mattress was removed using the Tahoe which is why the dogs hit on the vehicle.. and gas was poured in it to cover the smell or evidence..

I think they tried to use the boss to "shore up" their story. Poor guy can you imagine? First he gets the call about the note and the fire, and then AB calls him and says they took Zahra by mistake.......:waitasec:

Just thinking....Or their true intent was written on the note....
kidnap the bosses daughter for ransom....but they were just waiting for the opportunity to make good on the kidnapping ...

Since it was written on a duke power envelope and it is an older style one makes me wonder when the note was actually written.

But oops the police find the note in the car and all they came come up with is the lame excuse that the kidnapper mistaked Zhara for the bosses daughter...sounds likely since the kidnapper knew a pretty good description of the bosses son...
