Some of you following this case aren't from around here.

I want you to know about the size of the towns we are talking about here.

From an earlier post I gathered she has lived in the following towns (Thanks for the person who did that post):

Cherryville, NC - Population 5,361 (as of 2000)
Granite Falls, NC- Pop. 4,612
Hickory, NC- Pop. 37,222
Kings Mountain, NC- Pop 9,693
Lincolnton, NC- Pop. 9,966

For comparison sake, Raleigh has 400,000+ people

Actually, I didn't realize Hickory has grown to be as big as it is.

Anyway, my point is... Western NC is like eastern NC where if you know one person you know all of them.

I live in a small town. Recently, a boy that we've all looked out for (called DSS for, etc), has gotten old enough that he has joined the Army. We fed him, we made sure he was safe, even though his "mom" didn't give a darn. DSS never did anything, but she knew that everyone was watching. The village raised that child, not her. I'm happy to say he has turned out ok and will be a great member to society.

Why didn't this happen for this little girl?

NC has had some serious issues lately with various departments (highway patrol, DSS, etc), I hope that our Governor Beverly Perdue gets this looked in to.

For a month!!!!! I was afraid of this. So DAD is right smack in the middle of it.

shefner, when I watched his interview on GMA I had to rewind and watch it several times. While I tried to remember that grieving parents react in different ways, I had this nagging feeling that something that seemed "off" about his demeanor. To be honest, before the interview, I didn't know much about the case, and have spent the last day and a half catching up on the facts. And unfortunately, it doesn't look good for that lovely little girl. God bless her wherever she is.

I felt like he looked very sheepish, as if he knew he could've stopped this and didn't. Frankly, after seeing pics of the woman and hearing how physically brutal she was toward Zahra and threatening the same to others, I wonder if she beat the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 out of him, too.

Bentley said the dad would never physically harm Zahra in her presence, but that he never stopped stepmom from doing so. He seems extremely meek. So I wonder what the dynamics between the adults were.

Not that that is ANY excuse whatsoever for the dad not having protected his daughter -- there is NO excuse. But it makes me wonder how far under stepmonster's thumb he is and how far he'd go to not to offend or contradict her.

I missed it!!! Can someone please fill me in?

Elisa admitted writing ransom note.
She then requested an attorney.
Felony obstruction of justice will be filed.
Amber Alert cancelled.
Case status change: from missing child to homicide investigation.

Interesting in the handwritten portion of the search warrant - LE found THREE (3) passports in the Tahoe. Also, it seems the Tahoe was drenched with gasoline - wonder if they were gonna set it on fire too - or was it just close enough to that "mulch pile" that caught fire - that the fire would have just "jumped" to the Tahoe?

Why burn the passports? Why would you even have your passports in your vehicle?

bbm

Perhaps they were planning to leave the country?

it is now a homicide investigation amber alert cancelled

hasn't been seen in a month... need public's help

because of the change to homicide investigation info given to the public will be limited to breaking news
Oh My Lord - not another "haven't seen my daughter for 31 days" case. What is the father's role in all this? Did he know? Was he a participant? I had a thought that maybe he was being "abused" as well. Ya'll know it all ain't just women who are battered and abused by spouses.

Prayers for this child.

Screw the dad and all those tears....

Sorry, but I had to get that out.

If no one has seen Zahra in a month..he HAD to have known something was up. No way a father who lives with his daughter can say he hasn't seen her in a month when he comes home every day...

Presser:

Elisa admitted to writing the ransom note. She then requested an attorney. Warrant for felony obstruction of justice.

Okay so something is messed up here....someone's gonna confess soon i hope :furious:

I'm putting myself in time out. Most likely that will last for about 5 mins. Thank You all for the info.
