If AB picked up his mom KB from AU, she may of gotten him to break down!
LE was following him and able to arrest him???
BUT his mugshot shows no tears, no sadness..........

I'm going to speculate that AB had a police escort at the airport. Whoever was being picked up at the airport (if that's what was going on), that person is also someone that police probably want to question (and may have even footed the bill to bring this person to the US). It wouldn't make a lot of sense to allow AB to have any unmonitored time with this person(s).

Just a thought.

This type of reporting goes on in every case and I am sick of it. This is all about a missing child, FGS. How hard is it to write a factual report????

I hope LE arrested AB before he even got to see whomever he was there to pick up. I am proud of LE for playing hardball with AB. There is no bond listed for the assault with a deadly weapon, is there? That is not a misdemeanor as those checks are. (at least not in my neck of the woods)

I am at a loss as to which news online to trust. One of our locals did tell us which news outlet was the most reliable locally. Does anyone remember? These reporters owe it to Zahra to report accurately and factually, IMO.

Please, God, let this be the day that Zahra is located!

Also on Monday, police said that they are following up on a "promising lead" in the search for Zahra, who was reported missing on Oct. 9.

They began searching the area around Dudley Shoals Road in Caldwell County before daylight on Monday. The area is less than a mile from where Zahra’s stepmother lived three years ago.

3 yrs ago? Meaning before she went to Oz?

ETA: was answered by sunsetbeach, saw it after I posted, thanks!

Sherbie thank you for passing this along!

ETA: "before daybreak" meaning 0312 am???? hmmmm

I know it was still very dark here (I'm not that far from Hickory) at around 6:15 a.m. I think there's a "technical" sunrise/daybreak time and then there's what I think most of us think of as daybreak -- when we can actually see something other than darkness outside.

ETA: Weather Channel site lists 7:40 as "sunrise" time for today (will be 7:41 tomorrow). It was darker longer than I thought it should have been this morning, but that may have been due to all the clouds (we had storms moving in).

A very good one. I just dont think they would have needed Adam at the airport unless that person did not know the police would be there and wanted to make it look as if Adam was not being helpful when he lead person into police hands? That would imply this person wouldnt talk to the police of their own merits or the police didnt want to let the person know they wanted to speak to them. All speculation..

I actually was being tongue in cheek... wondering if any info was given up at the time of the arrest... the timing is kind coincidental eh?

How long has it been since AB's mom has had contact with him, anyone know? I can only say this, I don't care where my kids were, there would be contact on a regular basis. This family was dysfunctional all the way around. There throw stuff, lol.

WOW!! :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I think the only thing I believe right now is that AB has been arrested.

LOL, dear Amster! And we really could not believe that had someone from WS had not posted the link to the jail site and we really saw it!

I share your frustration.

I completely understand that but if the relative was in fact Z's grandmother I hope someone else was there to help her out. She takes what I can imagine to be a very long flight into the U.S. only to have the person picking up her arrested. She is of a concern to me. IF that was the relative. AB hasn't ran or hidden yet, I just wonder why pick that time to arrest him.

I believe the flight takes approximately 23 hours, or at least it does my neice and her husband.

Well, Kimberlyd125, maybe DSS just showed EB how to 'spank' like they showed Ronald Cummings. :innocent:

BTW, I am so glad LE has arrested AB! Now there is some real pressure on him. Maybe this arrest will make him talk.

I read elsewhere that people knew (and had seen the abuse with their own two eyes) but Zahra always denied it - MOST KIDS DENY ABUSE!

If they suspected Zahra was being abused, they had a moral responsibility to report it - not for them to investigate / decide if it happened or not - that is the job for DCS or the police. Yes, I know the system is badly broken, but it is the only system we have at this time.

If someone who had seen the abuse happening called 911 and reported what they saw and Zahra was found to be bruised and battered (thinking cell phone pic from Sept) - LE would have arrived and most likely would have arrested EB regardless of what Zahra said.

So many people failed this beautiful child for their own selfish reasons. If one of those reasons was fear of EB, imagine what Zahra felt - living with this monster.

I agree wholeheartedly. You can call DSS anonymously, but I think people just didn't want the hassle of filing a report to LE because they take your name. Many, many adults failed this child. I am afraid LE in Sawmills failed to see the seriousness also. They were "tired of being called there" according to a Newspaper article that I can't find and honestly am too tired to dredge up. Hickory Daily Record.

So, is citing a quote from an article that I can't find a violation? If it is, please let me know. I don't want to get in trouble.

Authorities said Monday morning that a missing 10-year-old girl's father had been charged and was being held in jail. They also said that the search for Zahra Baker was active in Caldwell County near a former family residence.

Adam Baker, the father of Zahra Baker, was not charged with allegations related to her disappearance, unlike Zahra's stepmother, who is being held on an obstruction of justice charge related to the search for the girl.

Meanwhile, Monday authorities confirmed that a new search was underway on Dudley Shoals Road which is in Caldwell County, about four miles northeast of Granite Falls.

Around here, that time (3:12 am) would be the booking time (what time he was brought into the jail), not what time he was arrested. Don't know if that is the same out there in Hickory or not. Depending on where he was arrested and how long things took he could have been arrested an hour or more earlier than 3:12.

hi, I'm a newbie, so if I mess up I hope someone can help me out...You all do a great job here...

I was noticing that on the police blotter it says that AB was arrested at this address, which is the hickory police station, is it possible that the police along with Ab decided to have him come there in the middle of the night to avoid a media frenzy. The police Doc says nothing about the airport? Baker, Adam Troy (W M, 33) Arrest on chrg of Worthless Check, M (M), at 347 2nd Ave Sw, Hickory, NC, on 10/25/2010.

I see the two roads mentioned in the one article. They searched there on day 11. I also see the huge church that is mentioned. Do we have an old address for EB in this area??
