Sounds about right to me.

It just strikes me as odd that the rumor is floating around and then WHAM we have the mattress. Now we have them digging at the other site...IDK, strange.

Saying they "accidentally found a mattress" sounds oh....IDK, strange. They could have worded it better.

Yeah, it does sound strange. Something's missing from the story of this discovery, IMO.

I wonder if the Airport had a departing flight to Mexico around that time? :waitasec:

okay, somebody please catch me up. No confirmation on speculations that LE has found anything but a mattress, correct?

Any confirmation of WHERE mattress was found, I saw one msm link earlier that said it was found during the renewed (last two days) of searching at landfill?

TIA for helping me play catch up.

I think they are less looking for blood and more looking for decomp fluids, which with DNA on the mattress from use will show that is her mattress, and that provide a timeline of her estimated death. That would include all of the fluids you are describing.

I am *assuming* we are not dealing with large amounts of blood that would show she bled to death on the mattress or suffered major wounds because they have been in the current residence and the prior and that kind of a crime would leave blood evidence on the walls, ceiling and carpets which there is no way these two cleaned up beyond forensic finding.

However she died I think she was there for awhile and I don't think it was a particularly bloody undertaking.

moo

What are you thinking? Head injury? There has been little to indicate much if any blood evidence in her home so if a lot of blood is on that mattress then it would show she was never in that house.

Trying not to consider DNA of another type altogether...

I think the "accidentally" part is connected to the landfill. It would make sense being that it was employees that found it.

He knew/knows what happened. That's why he was at the airport at 3am looking for a way out..

I don't think he was at the airport looking for a way out. He was picking up relatives. Here's the local source for that report just to clarify.

Baker voluntarily came into the Hickory Police Department at about 3:15 a.m. Monday for an interview with officers, according to officials.

Just before Baker went to the Hickory Police Department for his interview with officers, he was at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport to pick up a family member, according to the Hickory Police Department.

What about shuttles to other airports? Leave his car in that lot. Make LE think he left from there. Lots of getaway time.

Jmo...

Head injury, suffocated, as sad as this thought is hopefully drugged and died peacefully if she was annoying biodad's spouse (I cannot refer to as a mother of any sort, just cannot).

I think head injury or suffocated in a rage is probably more accurate.

Are they still searching or stopped for the day ?

Don't forget they claimed they were going to close up tonight but yet claim they are out there with big equipment. HINK.

I have been suffering in misery for a while with my thoughts on this topic. The mattress set off alarm bells for me when I heard about EB's London internet friend that "gave" her what was it.... $10,000.00??? I just recall a LOT of money. Why would he do this??? Unless he was getting pictures of something horrible in return. I can guarantee you LE confiscated the computers in that house ASAP. What do we know about that guy EB was communicating with in London anyways??? I sure wish we had a forum I could shuffle my way thru to try and piece this horrible puzzle together. I sure wish I had known about Zahra before the world knew about her in this horrible way.

Adam Baker is calmly joking with the 911 operator that his daughter was kidnapped in place of another child and about his 10 year old brooding daughter possibly having her period!?

Seems to me, the initial assault took place on her bed & this is their ridiculous way of explaining the blood...And the artificial leg could be the weapon.

Didn't think about that! You are good......

I don't think he was and I think even the police have said he wasn't. He was picking up family and apparently the police have his passport anyway.

Snipped by me for length

Great thinking, Reannan.

Mattress found by employees late this afternoon. Workers were regrading at Caldwell County Landfill:

"This mattress possessed DNA evidence that will be tested in the future to confirm if it is involved with this investigation," Hickory police said in a statement.
