ACK! Tornado warning and funnel clouds spotted. I hate high winds.

What does "brooding" mean in the context he used it? I assumed it meant "becoming hormonal" or something like that.. not necessarily menstruating?

moping or as my husband puts it---time for chocolate.

I wonder if the Airport had a departing flight to Mexico around that time? :waitasec:

No. Nothing direct.
The first departing flight of the day was to Miami at 0550.

I wonder if weather will be a cause for new searches? I mean, go back to the grids they searched previously for newly uncovered evidence?

As far as MtDNA is concerned-I do not think it is a stretch to believe that her bio mother gave a cheek swab in the early stages of the disappearance-also, Zahra may have had a full profile on file if she was genetically tested or had gene testing for her cancer type. Not to mention, some hospitals keep tissue samples for study purposes for years...think of Henrietta Lacks cells, for example. Which would have also given a primary nuclear DNA sample to work with.

Wow what a coincidence that you mention Henrietta for I am reading "The Immortal life of Henrietta Lacks right now. Very interesting read.

It's an unusual word for an aussie man to use I always thought but "brooding" is often used round the world coupled with teenager. Problem is she wasn't a teenager.

But definition in the context he may have been using it:

a. To be deep in thought; meditate.
b. To focus the attention on a subject persistently and moodily; worry: brooded over the insult for several days.
c. To be depressed.

I haven't heard this confirmed but since i live in the same county and we are under a tornado watch (now changed until 10pm) surely they will keep looking???

I would hope under a tornado watch they will pull up, seek shelter and let it pass.

Thank you, I can put an end to that theory then.

You can disagree with the Hickory Police Department if you want; I'll stick with LE's version.

No matter what he or LE say, I can assure you that there were no flights expected until the next day. The last flight in was United 7248 from O'Hare which arrived on schedule at 0042.

Tammera, people seem to harm children when they are one of the following - 1. Addicted to drugs; 2. Self-centered, and refuse to let someone else have the child; 3. Sociopathic; 4. Evil. I bet I can put EB into all four of those categories!!! Poor Zahra.... I really, really, wish I could have known her.

No flights were due to arrive at Charlotte airport at that time of the night. The last flight in on Sunday night was United 7248 from O'Hare and the next scheduled flight in was due to arrive at 0545. He was looking for a way out.

All media reports and LE have stated that he was not fleeing but picking up his relatives from Australia. He has no passport, he can't go anywhere outside the States.

Yes, of course but up until then I hope they keep looking.

I know that they have changed the name on the title to Clare, but NCMEC is still showing it as Claire and I think this little girl deserves at least a correct spelling of her name.

Perhaps we could just REMOVE her middle name until we get it verified from a birth certificate or something?

I took this to be his excuse for why he had not seen her in what most people would consider a reasonable time frame.

Oh, its not that I am lying, or a pathetically inattentive father, it's her, she is brooding, and moody, and only comes out when she wants something. How would we have known she was gone?

Well, that's certainly worth noting. Yet no reporter picked up on that?

I didn't see this answered, so my apologies if it is a duplicate.

Someone referenced Mito-DNA and mentioned a grandmother being in town that might be willing to provide a DNA sample so they could run a Mito-DNA test which is faster (and I think done at many more labs because it is a simpler test).

If the grandmother that allegedly arrived in town is Adam's mother, her and Zahra do not share Mito-DNA. Mito-DNA is from your mothers side of the family.Zahra would have the identical Mito-DNA that her mother has, and her maternal grandmother has, right on down the family tree, but only on the maternal side.

That being said if they are running a Mito test on anything they may have samples in hand from the biomom (as a verifiable and properly obtained source) as well as from a hairbrush from Zahra's home which can be deductively reasoned to be Z's hair when compared to the hair taken from Adam or his spouse.

Hopefully that helps, or at least didn't make it worse... LOL

BBM Thank You for confirming that.

ZsaZsa, what was the last flight in from O'Hare? What time was that?

until I hear different from LE I am sticking with their only known statement on the matter. Although, depending on where you read, they are attributed with saying AB TOLD them he was there to pick up relative AND with saying he WAS picking up a relative.

Regardless, easy enough for LE to verify or not. Since I have not heard from LE that they debunked it, I must stick with their last words on the subject. Who knows, perhpas they did debunk it and have chosen to keep that to themselves, although the statement in other MSM reports that AB as of this morning has no atty and has not been questioned since the time of his arrest is interesting to me. Still can't figure that one out. I would have figured they would be turning the screws on him til he did lawyer up.

curiouser and curiouser

There were quite a few flts that came in around midnight - his family could have been on any one of a number of them. They have to pick up luggage and go through customs, the flt could have also been a bit late, also factor in the time it takes to drive from the apt to the police station. The time line adds up to when he was in police custody at approx 3.12am.
