in re the hallway, I have seen a link in the past but am searching for it yet again because once again the whole hallway/bedroom debate has reared its ugly head. I recall seeing it during one of Deal's pressers but no luck locating it yet.

I knew this would come back up, should have saved the stupid thread it was on maybe six or seven back.

appearances\\moo

That, or they felt there was no way they could decline the offer without looking like total a-holes or arousing suspicion in the school officials.

  • #344
But why did they go at all?

Oriah, if, as it seems, the school managed to get in touch with them directly about this opportunity, what choice would they have had? Free hearing aids for Zahra. Some weeks left in the school year. If they said no, how could they explain it? "We're getting her aids on our own?" And then they would have had to do so... Much easier for them to take the free handout. [ETA: Mtn_Kat, you said it MUCH more succinctly!]

The speculation about the care, battery replacement, ongoing testing etc. that we are doing here also makes me think this may have been one reason (of many) that Zahra was "homeschooled" this year.... :furious:

I have been thinking about the 911 call too, and really the part I am thinking about is EB explaining that AB works for a tree company.

I know people who live in the outback in Australia, well not right outback but far enough and Australia is pretty much one of the driest places

I live Canada, mulch piles and logs, close, YEA would of made point of fire hazard, mulch piles can spontaniasly combust, also very hard to put out- like peat. An Australian family have lost their son up here, Power in numbers you know!!!!!!

I said it early on in the case... that if I had a crystal ball I would see multiple psychological interviews ahead for EB... and I still think that is the case. I think the day the resource room teacher told her about the hearing aid benefit she ((EB)) was having a "can do" day.

MOO of course

that is precisely what I meant by "appearances" ;)

School initiates Zahra receiving the free hearing aids. If EB had declined wouldn't it have raised a few more red flags? MOO

I understand...but to all media appearances, Zahra looks like a beautiful, well cared for child in May. What happened in those summer months?

Wasn't that the same school that had the assistant principal and guidance counselor come out to the house? Kinda turning the heat up a little bit - EB had to go. JMO

LOL...yes, I guess it WOULD all go toward the notion of keeping up appearances, wouldn't it?

(Give me a break here...I'm still working the stupid apple butter!) :P

yes it was... and they were concerned for her... and when DCS comes out (if they ever do) with calls on this child I think we will see a huge log of concerns including from professionals at this particular school.

One more speculation and thought.

Respectfully bolded by me.

Were those 911 calls released in full? Or were there redacted info or parts of the 911 calls that are being reserved by LE?

Just a thought. It's been known to happen JMHO.

Well I sure enough thought they had, but can't seem to put hands on verified full transcript of either. :waitasec:

That's the first I've heard of this. You wouldn't happen to have a link, would you?

Out in public in May, to the point now where no one knows when she was last seen or one landlord not knowing about her at all.

Meh...don't waste your energy being gentle with me. I don't have a sensitive bone in my body. ;)

Just posting this link in case some missed it. I didn't know myself. And cuz there's no forum for Zahra (which I don't get and never will....)

When her health worsened, and Zahra was very sick and in a children’s hospital waiting to have her left leg amputated above the knee, she talked to Wright by telephone.

“It’s OK, because I’m going to be getting a Barbie leg so I don’t want you to be upset,” Zahra told Wright.

EDIT - Ok that's depressing :(

Got ta go get ready for trick-or-treating--boy I still feel like I'm gonna spend a long time catching up later :) Like others have said, I'll be thinking of Zahra out there tonight--and feeling luckier than usual to have my kids.

Carry on, fellow sleuthers...

I guess it would be possible and who knows perhaps that is why they were released in two parts over the course of several days. Just throwing it out there.
