Two questions as I was gone all weekend to the Florida Keys with the fam swimming with dolphins. I did manage to log in briefly but definitely got behind.
First, has everyone decided than the neighbor Punk's hubby talked to was mistaken about BS being with Zahra on the 7th? LE pisses me off that they keep saying "someone outside the family...". I want to know when someone inside the family other than EB or AB says they saw her last.
Second, regarding possible drug abuse... Does anyone know if AB's teeth were that effed up before he moved here two years ago?

I just got this now. It's Burke County not Catawba county where she is being held. This means they will have to transport her there.

Also, they are back at the Hickory home with the CSI truck.
yes, it appears they did drive her there and wbtv got a perp walk of her getting into the car on the way to court ((linky upy ^^^^))

Ya know peeps i dont think Zahra died from any infection or disease, i think Eb beat her one last time and this time killed her. EB had her OMG moment
tucked Zahra back in her bed and told Daddy dearest Zahra was being broody
to leave her alone. she cooks up this wild kidnapping scenario and sets the fire thinking they will find Zahra gone but alas this backfires and no one checks on little Zahra...Nor does Daddy Dearest,,, I really dont think Dad did anything to kill her but ignorance is being just as guilty.

I think (JMOO) EB is capeable of anything and could have done this all by herself. Again JMO

It is still very hard to talk about though I needed to get the point across that sepsis is a very serious matter that can kill instantaneously or over a period of just one to two days. So if it turns out that our dear Z suffered from infection and its resulting sepsis....well you understand where I'm going. I'm not saying I think this is what happened however. I have yet to form an opinion on that and much like the rest of you, have a very difficult time coping with the "visuals" in regards to this beautiful freckle-faced little girl that I would have loved to call my own. I also have a hard time keeping up with these posts!

Thank you for sharing that with us (((Yellow Rose))). I'm so sorry for your loss.

If Zahra had gone to school this year, what would her first day of attendance have been?

(PS--while we wait for news from the hearing or the search, let's update tags!)

Just catching up...not sure if this has been answered. Looks like the first day for Caldwell county schools was August 10th.

Edit: Ok...I'm wrong lol I see you found the info on your own. The date I looked at was for the Caldwell County Community College...sorry

Wow, you're right. She does indeed look like she has gained a little weight in jail. No drugs available there....

Sorry if this article has been posted already, but I am so mad. This is awful. :furious::furious::furious::furious:

It also gives alot of detail about EB and AB physically and mentally abusing each other.

Searching for Zahra: Stepmother abused her, neighbors say

Corrine and her friend BH, 16, noticed Zahra crying as she walked up the hill.

“She was making Zahra walk up the hill by herself because that’s how she would punish her because she (Elisa) knew it would hurt Zahra’s leg,” Corrine said.

When the teenagers intervened, Corrine said Baker came out of her trailer and started screaming and threatening the girls.

“She said, ‘I’m going to teach these two teenagers a lesson and whip their butts,’” Corrine said.

She said that Baker continued shouting threats until Brandy’s mother came out and asked what was going on and Baker left, according to the arrest warrant.

Corrine said it wasn’t the first time she’d called authorities about how Zahra was treated.

“You could hear Zahra screaming and Elisa yelling at her, so we would call the police,” Corrine said. “We called DSS on her too, but they never did anything.”

Hi all, I'm new here, although I have been lurking while reading the last 36 threads. Phew! I feel like I now know you all. :)

Zahra's disappearance and that of six year old Australian girl Kiesha Abrahams http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110796 have really done my head in and I know you all feel the same. having said that, I've never encountered a more enlightened, dedicated and compassionate group of people as those here at WS, you are wonderful people.

I've been thinking a lot about the prosthetic leg and the "new evidence" that led LE back to further search the Baker's place in Hickory. It is supposition on my part but it could be that pieces of woodchip or mulch were found on or inside the leg that was inconsistent with where it was found but was consistent with the woodchip and mulch in the Baker's backyard. The leg may have been initially buried in the Baker's backyard and then disposed of later. Was something missing from the prosthesis that was later uncovered in the Baker's backyard?

Other things to chew on.

Was the prosthetic leg buried in the backyard, covered in mulch, ignited then later removed when it was realised that it wouldn't burn? Was Zahra initially buried in the backyard or under the house and then moved elsewhere as well?

Could the prosthesis have indications of being used as a weapon? Skin fragments, blood etc.? Horrible to think of I know, and I hate typing that.

IMO Zahra is located in the opposite direction of where her prosthetic leg was found. (Clever thinking on the part of the perp(s) NOT!) She was disposed of first and then the leg. Talking about disposing of a child and her prosthetic leg just make me burn! :furious:

That is a very interesting theory. It would clear up for me why they came back to the house for such a thorough investigation after the initial release of the home.....and the timing of such an intense investigation after they found the prosthetic has always confused me :waitasec:

Maybe this has already been answered but is there any financial incentive to homeschool?

Also, maybe saying that she would homeschool was a knee jerk reaction, in anger, about visits/inquiries from the school principal and DSS?

I am still several pages back so no clue where this will fall, trying to play catch up here after a good sleep. Home with a sick kid today so catch up time available.

As to the BBM. I am with MK, still trying to figure out the moves, the timing of potential "triggers" for whatever was set into motion. I feel with all my heart, the moves, the homeschooling, etc, was all related and was like a fast moving train leading to Z's death.

EB strikes me as a very "knee jerk" sort of person as far as being angry and reacting to things emotionally without thinking them through.

ty, perhaps that IS why the "homeschooling" began.

I've thought it, but never wanted to say it. I've also wonder about child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, especially when looking at why someone in another country would give EB 10,000 over a period of 1 year. All speculation on my part...I have nothing solid to go on, and I don't plan on taking this line of thinking any further here in this forum.

(Hope that covers me with the mods.)

Someone pointed out a few threads back that there is a Facebook game called Farmville, and it would be much more plausible that EB was receiving "virtual play money" from other players who could be anywhere in the world with no salacious strings attached. Also, there was a news headline last week about a mother so absorbed in this "Farmville" game that she shook her crying infant to death for interrupting her online activities. Is it possible, (JMOO)given EB's penchant for online activities, that a similar scenario could have occurred? I am speculating that EB may have been so wrapped up in her own pastimes that it could have led to ongoing medical neglect or a sudden act of rage. As for AB being oblivious, yes, there really are people like that. All so sad!

Hello all, I have been reading these threads for Zahra, all your great posts and sleuthing, trying to figure out what has happened to this precious little girl. It is really confusing and so many things just do not make sense. I live in Canada, but here, if your child did not show up for school after the summer vacation, and the school was not contacted by the new school in he zone for where the child has moved for transfer of their school transcript, flags would be raised immediatly as to where that child was and why are they not in school? I assume that there must be a procedure to register that your child is now being home schooled? Also concerning AB's boss. Am I correct that he owned the property that the family was living at? He also had a daughter close in age
to Zahra? and he never seen her or heard about her or said we should introduce our daughters, Zahra might like to meet a new friend in this area.

I also wonder if AB and any family have been asked not to speak to media. Why is dad or no one else on TV pleading and begging, please if you have seen anything or know anything about Zahra come forward.

This little angel had the most infectious sweet smile, it lit up every photo I have seen of her. She is so inspiring, the courage and iron will she had just shines through her eyes. How could anyone ever hurt her. How could they not just be in awe and amazement of this precious princess, want to hold her and care for her and give her every happiness they possibly could. I will never understand.

I pray this will be over soon and Zahra can find the peace and dignity she so deserves, and the person or people responsible are brought to justice for their evilness!

Agreed. But having her missing would draw much more attention, so it's pretty clear to me that whatever happened to Zahra wasn't planned. If this is a case of habitual abuse that progressed to the point of fatal injury, then what would prompt AB to help in the cleanup (and I do believe that he did)? Much easier to just lay the whole thing at the abusers feet. If other crimes were being comitted, in addition to physical abuse, and AB took part in those crimes, I would think it more likely for him to have some incentive to get rid of evidence. If Zahra had merely been ill, and died as a result of that illness, why wouldn't AB and EB just come forward with that, instead of leap right to clean up? The charges for that would have been much less than the charges she's currently facing, and whatever ones he might or might not be facing.

BBM. I agree wholeheartedly Mountain_Kat. IMO EB lost all control and fatally attacked Z and I do believe this took place in the Hickory house. I also think that EB was the one that fed the crap to AB about Z being brooding, coming into puberty etc. and the dumb arse believed her! :furious: That is such a load of rubbish IMO. And no, as a rule Aussie fathers don't talk that way about their daughters. Once again, IMO Z was not pubescent at all but EB used this excuse to conceal Z's rising fear and resentment of EB's abuse and her father's lack of care for her. I am the product of a very spiteful step-mother and a father who stuck his head in the sand and it affected me for many years. Luckily the old bag didn't kill me although she did lose it one day and had me up against the wall belting the hell out of me. I stood up for myself and belted her in the mouth. She never touched me again. My father however belted me for raising my hand to her. I was 14. Zahra unfortunately didn't have the chance to defend herself.

Another thing that bothers me. Why was Zahra not wearing pajamas or a nightie when she was supposedly last seen in bed at 2:30 a.m. The description of her is as follows;

Quote:
Zahra is described as white, about 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighing 85 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a camouflage Army T-shirt and black knee-length tights, and she has a prosthetic left leg below the knee.

Adam Baker said his wife told him she last saw Zahra asleep in her bed around 2:30 a.m. The blaze was reported around 5 a.m.,
Unquote:

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-20019217-504083.html

Major slip-up me thinks. What, no hot bath and then into pj's before bed? IMO EB would have been the one to give LE Zahra's description including what she was wearing. AB wouldn't have had a clue! (Don't get me started on him! :furious:) I have no doubt that Zahra was wearing the clothes as described and was not sleeping comfortably in her bed at 2:30 a.m. She was already deceased.

MOO.

Who was the LEO in the video making the announcement that it is a homicide? I wonder if anyone came forward about the inspector? If that was any kind of family services inspection, I would think LE would just go to the agency and get the info and the same for any kind of inspection for rental property inspection.

I think the homeschool answer was knee jerk. EB/AB probably never gave a thought what day/month school started and possibly didn't realize it was time for school to start. I am surprised the school could get in touch with her.

whew, okay, caught back up. So, per punKnLuV CSI has been at the house over teh weekend despite lack of press coverage, breaking news, bombshells. Good to know. And LE confirms they will be there again this week and are gathering there now. Also good to know.

Bless LE and how very hard they are trying to solve this case.
