Why is it only one day a month? In Kyrons case didnt the Gj meet every day for like weeks/

The Catawba County NC Grand Jury meets once a month (scheduled) the first Monday of every month (reported on NG, talked about in MSM).

IMHO LE took the evidence to a regular scheduled meeting of the Grand Jury instead of asking a Special Grand Jury to convene because it was scheduled to meet anyway.

If LE wants to present to a Grand Jury any further evidence of another charge against AB or EB (can include murder...etc) then they can very well ask for a Special Grand Jury.

(I linked on the last thread sites that explains how that works)

The Grand Jury will stay in session IMHO until witnesses are heard and/or all evidence to support charge is presented and then they will deliberate.

I don't know the specifics of T. Horman's Grand Jury hearing...sorry. Only follow his case in general.

HTH and that info is the best of my recollection from reading the links, I might be off. If so I apologize in advance.

JMHO.

This case is so fast moving right now, so I have a question - Does this house have a basement or is it on a slab? Reason I ask is all the tools NG has listed tonight - could they be removing a floor that had been jack hammered thru and re-cememted and little Zahra been buried under the house? Do we know if either father or SM had any home improvement skills?
Uggggggggg:sick::sick:

On NG someone said that a body or parts of a body would be found by now in the house.
Looks like LE is looking for TRACE evidence now.
I think EB/AB took the laziest quickest way to do their gruesome cover up.
IMO the floor taken up for blood, urine????
and what made LE KNOW that this was a homecide from day 3????
IMO, back then they found something to make them think this.......
a small piece of Zahra????
This is so sad................
I am so angry that EB/AB could do such a thing to a beautiful little girl.
Zahra deserved so much more.

two weeks for forensics to come back.... ((from the he!! house.. that is what I deem it personally))

yup... first week of December we could see the grand jury doing more work for sure.

~~and we need a forum to keep all this info that sleuthers have gleaned straight~~

fwiw, mattress evidence should come in first... that is if LE shares it... for some reason I think they will NOT.

we need to all lite our unity candles in thoughts, prayers, and hopes that Zahra's remains are able to be found. It will indeed be a miracle... and if past cases prove right....she will be discovered by a Roy Kronk or a hunter or some other citizen going about his or her daily grind.

I don't think LE is going to share much especially if it gets too gruesome. They still have to think about finding an impartial jury. MOO

I am reading a thread behind but in regards to the boss's house and the damage done to it, when LE knocked our fence down during an evacuation of our old neighborhood the county paid for the damages.

That process took awhile though.

So if he has RENTERS insurance and was honest with his home owners policy that he had a renter in the property they should pay up front and get reimbursed from the county.

If he does not have a renters dwelling policy he may have to wait for the county to cut the check.

But he will be covered one way or the other.

imagine what evidence that poor GJ had to hear today to return that true bill on EB?

ITA they will keep this whole thing in the GJ/private area as much as and as long as possible.

more power to them. Tight case=justice

Grand juries work when they have work. Sounds like this one only convenes one day a month but if there is more work to be done they can be re-convened or held over for multiple days...

According to instructions provided by NC Superior Court Judges to grand jurors:
"(1)
Term of Service.
Those of you who have just been selected will be serving on this grand jury for approximately twelve months. During those twelve months, you will be notified when to convene. After convening you will meet from day to day until all business pending before you is complete, but you will meet only when this court is in session. When your business is complete, you will adjourn until the next regular time for you to convene, or until you are caused to be convened. As a practical matter, this means that your service on the grand jury will probably require about (estimate time demand, e.g., two days a month) of your time during the next twelve months, but more or less time may be required depending on the work to be done."

(snipped and bolded/italicized by me from http://www.sog.unc.edu/faculty/smithjess/documents/GrandJuryCharge.pdf, from the UNC School of Government website.)

More interesting information about NC Superior Court stuff here.

Does anyone know where he is?

AB's family came over and they must have had a hotel booked nearby.

I'd assume that AB is either staying in the same hotel or nearby and spending quality time with family as this develops. IMO

I'd also speculate that he is keeping tight lipped, even with family and waiting to see what LE discover and charge him with versus EB. I doubt AB is going to share anything, even with family. JMO

I am tacky and lighthearted in my comment? or LE would be for referring to an untested suspected illegal substance they found in the search as green vegetable matter?

No not you. LE would be had they been refering to drugs in a case like this.

I am sorry I didnt express what I was meaning to clearly.

Why is ab not in jail yet?????

...because he posted bail on the "small stuff" , his lawyer has (IMO) advised to shut up -------and LE is waiting patiently, to be able to slap a BIG charge on him .

I am very very curious to know what is the attraction to the house, and why they indicated that it had become a homicide investigation so early.

I am so so sad for Zahra. My parents are both hearing impaired. My son's birthday is 10/9, the day she was reported missing. (my other son was born on 9/9, Kyron's birthday) I am close to Adam's age. No striking similarities, but it hits somewhere in my emotional ballpark.

So so sad.
