this is the first time ive gotten my adobe reader to work enough to read the search warrent. Can someone tell me what a latent lift is . Its on page 6 near the bottom TIA

The crime scene tech will dust for prints then use a special cellophane like tape to lift the print.

This can be done with finger, palm, foot, boot, shoe prints to name a few.

She would have attended the Elementary school my son went to. He's in Middle School now. Viewmont is an EXCELLENT school!! I have nothing but the utmost love and respect for the principal there and no complaints about each and every teacher my son had. I believe in my heart that there is no way she would have fallen through the cracks there. Ms. Jolly is a very involved lady. She genuinely cares about all her students....

BBM Are you sure she would have attended Viewmont, Punk? Not doubting you, just asking for clarification. I was certain from what I've read that it was Hudson. I'm probably mistaken, but I need to get this info right.

Viewmont would be correct..once in Catawba County. Hudson elem is in Caldwell County, where they previously lived.

I have a point to ponder. Could the search warrant be read this way? (4) burnt samples ( from tahoe and brush pile) (1) pink jacket (2) plastic bowl w/ green vegg matter (3)assorted drug paraphernalia (4) chinese takeout menu. ---????

Could these men be paying her to get a green card? Just a thought!

I hadn't thought of that! Good one. Can you just imagine how she feels now, knowing LE has read through every e-mail & chat and probably knows every detail of her life?

Thanks Kat!

I'm not so much skeptical if it's her, but more curious as to why she has remained anonymous and hasn't gone to MSM.

From what I have read. She has children at home, lives away from her Mom and sister and wants to protect her children.

Well she lived 3 minutes from Viewmont but EB may have driven her the 25 - 20 minutes to Hudson. Hudson Elementary was in Caldwell County. The house they moved to in Hickory is in the Hickory City School zone and Viewmont is the Elementary school for that address.

She may have still be listed as enrolled at Hudson but she would not have been able to attend there unless they got special permission. I know this for a fact.....my nephew attended a county school even though they live in the city limits and had to have written permission and pay a fee for him to attend that school.

Okay, so this is the piece of the puzzle I've been missing that's been driving me crazy. Thank you so much!

Zahra Claire Baker

Endangered Missing from Hickory, North Carolina since October 9, 2010

Age: 10 -- Height: 5'0" -- Weight: 5'5" -- Hair Color: Lt. Brown -- Eye Color: Blue

Zahra is hearing impaired. She has lost a leg due to cancer.

Zahra was reported missing from Hickory, North Carolina on October 9, 2010 after her father and step-mother reported last seeing her early that morning. An AMBER Alert was issued for her, and a ransom note was found on a vehicle outside.

Zahra's step-mother, Elisa Baker, was arrested a few days later on unrelated charges. She later admitted to writing the ransom note. Cadaver dogs also detected the smell of human remains on two cars at the Baker's residence. The AMBER Alert was cancelled, and Zahra's case was changed from a focus on an abduction to a focus on a homicide.

Authorities are unsure when exactly Zahra was last seen by anyone outside of her family. It may have been 2-3 weeks before she was reported missing.

Investigators have searched the Baker's home, yard, bodies of water, woods, landfills, and more for Zahra, as well as evidence in her case. A mattress believed to be Zahra's was found in a landfill. And Zahra's prosthetic leg was found in a brushy area on the side of a road. Zahra is believed to be deceased.

It means they took a transfer of a latent (ie, left-behind) fingerprint.

Yeah, I don't think any of us thinks THAT would have been something EB was considering.

So...the reason she might not have ever attended school could very well be because neither EB nor AB ever took the responsibility to transfer Zahra to Viewmont. School officals call to inform them that it's the law that Zahra has to be in school, and EB probably comes up with the homeschooling thing on the fly, just to get them off her back. JMO, of course, but I've been trying to fit the not attending school thing into my theory, and couldn't for the life of me do it because I thought the school she was pre-enrolled at was the school she would attend at the new house.

Thanks for helping me clear that up in my mind. Whew.

I'm thinking along those lines as well. I think EB has always had a disregard for the law, probably used and manipulated alot of people in her life for selfish gain, had deep emotional/psychological issues long before AB ever came along. But IMO, it was the realities of this marriage vs the fantasy of it, coupled with the resposibilities of Zahra and AB's attempts to shove the bulk of the responsibilites for Zahra off on her, that drove her to the breaking point.

JMO

Exactly!
I think that as a narcissist, so long as Zahra 'reflected' how good, she EB was, things were hunky dory. I think she enjoyed feeling she was the center of AB and Zahra's universe. But she probably got irritated with the day to day bother. Maybe AB made her promises he didn't fufill, and she resented having his child 'dumped' on her. She'd already raised a family. She may not have wanted the day to day life of a little girl, and perhaps one who had special needs and some of those needs costing EB money. She seems to have had a problem with money-they certainly lived in lower income situations with bounced checks and renting rather than buying.

I wonder if Zahra told EB that she wasn't her mother? That, I think would have set this woman off.

Punk said it best! Viewmont is actually in Hickory City school district!

So do I have this right? Because she finished 4th grade at Hudson, Hudson called the home at the beginning of this school year to see where she was.

Hudson was told they were homeschooling Zahra.

Therefore, there was no reason for Hudson to call Viewmont and let them know Zahra would be enrolling.

EB and AB did not respond to Hudson efforts to hook them in to homeschooling programs...

...and Zahra disappeared into the cracks?

That's my thinking, Ynot. Unless I've screwed up some of the facts, or missed another vital piece of the puzzle.

ETA: And this would also clear up my problems fitting the furniture clerk sighting into a theory that Zahra might have been too sick to attend school, or already gone by that point, KWIM? I'm now almost certain that Zahra was alive and well on Sept. 25th.

I think so too Fyrecat! When I read the article about Zahra getting her hearing aids and she was quoted as saying that 'EB is not her Mum, Her mummy is in Australia', I thought to myself, I'll be this burned EB.

IMHO.

I think that's pretty much the scenario.

I would have thought it was a cover-up because of Zahra already being gone at that point (disregarding the furniture store report as possibly a false siting), but the first day of school in that district is shown as August 25. LE implied that someone outside the family had seen Zahra a month prior to her being reported missing (so...September 9?).

Just speculating.

Exactly and it might explain the 10 grand she got from the guy across the pond i cant imagine what else it would be for but a green card. she was probably getting ready to divorce AB but Ab cant get as green card now cause of the charges against him JMO

Oh, absolutely! And though I've never paid a great deal of attention to the video, I've read several comments saying that EB cried in that vid. I've always had a hard time seeing that happening, but if she were crying for herself instead of Zahra? Oh yeah, THAT I can see.
