So the owner of the house, who the "ransom note" was addressed to, isn't actually the owner of the company, right? :waitasec: MOO

From the reports in the media, it seems not. It seems that Mr. Coffey, while AB's immediate boss and landlord, is not the owner of the company.

Causby seems to be the owner of the business and the property where the equipment was. Coffey, AB's boss, seems to be an employee of Causby's ("Real Tree Service"). Coffey is said to own the house (and property) where the Bakers were living.

That's my understanding.

The property reportedly belongs to Fred Causby, a foreman for Real Tree Services. The tree trimming company stores heavy equipment and mulch on the property. According to the Hickory Daily Record, the company has employed Zahra's father, Adam Baker, for about the last six months.

Coffey owns the house, rented by the Bakers. Adam Baker worked for Coffey at a tree-trimming business that has a storage lot in Burke County – a site authorities have repeatedly searched for signs of Zahra.

So behind I am not sure what we were supposed to "get", but for the record, I would have gone to the site and pressed the "Print Screen" button in the upper Right hand corner of my keyboard - possibly just to the left of my Number Pad. Nothing happens when you go to a website and press ""Print Screen".... but when you then go to Word and hit "paste".... a picture appears of the screen shot you just took. I personally, then right click on it and select "Format Picture" and then I select "Layour" and then "Behind" so that I can move and manipulate the picture.

or if you are using firefox as a browser, you can add FireShot to your option, and then all you have to do is right click and hit FireShot, and it will save the whole webpage, the visible part of your screen, or the part you zoom in on as a jpg.

Firefox has a few add ons that make it a right click option

The yellow 2 page letter is also for sale for $1,250.00. It appears to be post marked either 10/20 or 10/29. I looked around that site......seems he's trying to make a quick buck on these. They were the highest priced items on the site that I could find on a quick glance.

So $2,500 for 5 pages of writing.....if she wasn't already mad before....she's sure to be PO'd now. $2,500 would have made a good dent in her bond money fund.

LOL, the scammer got scammed!

I think like Casey Anthony she will think she is a celebrity.
She is obsessed with claiming she knows famous people.
I think she will get off on it personally.

It is easy to draw that line when you don't see the value in what that "profiteer" is offering.

Nancy Grace profits primarily from the suffering of others.
Presents it under the umbrella of news and debate, but it is really entertainment at the end of the day.

Ann Rule and every other true crime author profits from the suffering of others. Presents it under the umbrella of nonfiction, educational, and entertainment.

What this person does just lacks the umbrella of anything other than morbid curiousity in my opinion.

Of course if the letters are truly authored by her, and I think they are, they are actually more informative than 98% of the Nancy Grace transcripts and MSM news articles that have been riddled with inaccurate statements.

Not attacking your post of course, I don't even disagree with it, what he does make my skin crawl.... but I also know the "new documentaries" and "true crime" books I support make many other people's skin crawl for many of the same reasons.

While I don't watch NG unless only avenue for news, even rehash and heavily slanted, for a case I am following. I do see your point on Ann Rule and others. I am guilty of owning true crime accounts.

Totally not offended, realize my post just got you really clear in your thought on this and my post was the impetus.

I UNFORTUNATELY work from an iPad so I have no idea how to do screenshots and have been unable to read anything from adobe. Kind of stinks as far as not being able to participate and keep up with all of the links I need. Sorry I've been useless and reduced to lurking. Grrrrrr......Steve Jobs!!! NEVER thought I'd say that ;). Lol

O/T

Why can't you read the pdf documents? You should be able to on the iPad.

(Also, there are some tutorials on YouTube on how to do screenshots on the iPad. Search "print screen ipad".)

So, Causby is only a FOREMAN for the business BUT he owns property that probably rents it to the business to store equipment.

Coffey OWNS the business AND the house that they lived at.

How many takers do ya think he's gonna get for this letter, especially at that price, and when the crime hasn't been solved? My bet? EB and Ed Gien/Damien $0. LE? PRICELESS!

Yes, I can imagine her thinking how awesome it is when she finds out how much her letters are worth.

Oh yeah, and she does seem to have the same mentality as CA. IMO.

I guess I am more bothered by the fact that people want to pay extra for something written by, made by, or belonging to a murderer, as if the person were a celebrity. That's paying for the glamor factor, rather than simply the information contained in something like a true crime book.

Well, I s'pose I'm happy that EB doesn't profit but I am disturbed by anyone that profits primarily from the UNNECESSARY suffering of others. Gives me a case of the ickies. And yet so glad to have this insight into a sick mind IF the letters are legit, which IMOO "feel" right but that means nothing just speculation.

I do hope the person who gained the money donates it to something involved in the case. Even if it's just ordering food and refreshments for LE while they are hiking through the woods.

I guess what makes me happy is not only is she not getting money (hopefully) but it's possible that EB was used for personal gain. Instead of the other way around.

Now she is locked in a room cold and alone wishing she had someone to love and care about her. I wonder how many nights Zahra sat locked in her room feeling the same way. A little bit of justice perhaps? :)
