Gein went on to say the police know about the letters.

"They said that they have copies of all the letters that are coming and outgoing and that they know they're legit letters," she said. "So they don't doubt it and neither do we."

Police told WBTV it's possible the letters are real, but that they don't have them.

I know this to be a fact because anyone who is incarcerated can easily be sent mail by anybody. In NCDOC for instance you can search any inmate and find out what prison they are located in and then send mail to that inmate at the prison address with their inmate locator number and the mail will make it to them. I also am very well aware of the fact that ALL mail is reviewed and censored if necessary with any regular inmate much less a high profile case. Trust me, they are aware of EVERYTHING that goes in and out.

1) She is a cancer survivor (twice)
2) She is from Australia
3) She was a precious gift from GOD

5) SHE IS A CHILD!

IMO these letters are authentic. It all fits too well. Childish, selfish, sociopathic...it's all there. Not one shred of humanity put forth for Zahra. None. These letters are transparent and would be comical if it weren't for the fact that this woman destroyed a priceless, innocent life.

I hope she fires her attorneys and starts talking to all the press like she wants to. I hope she decides to testify. THAT will ensure a speedy conviction and the worst possible penalty for her crimes. Here's your rope "Elesa". Run with it.

Why wouldn't Eric Gein have 'bled this turnip' for as long as he could? It could have been a real cash cow for him to continue with these letters as long as possible, at least until her lawyer's discovered and put a stop to it. But then, maybe they did.

Strike while the iron is hot. This case is getting worldwide coverage right now and quite a bit of it too. Once it starts to "loose steam" - his "product" will loose value. Its all about the business.

I agree, I find it creepy at a minimum that anyone would want it.
But I don't have the celebrity worship gene that seems so rampant in our society either. Have never asked anyone for an autograph, a photo, and have no idea what I would do with one if some gave me one. The fact that these people are celebrities is a sad statement in and of itself, but the bar for "celebrity" has been sliding for a LONG time.

Now that he has put them up for sale hopefully LE will take them as evidence. They probably won't, and they probably already have certified copies for their own use, but it would be funny for him to think he has a buyer and then have them taken.

I don't understand the celebrity stuff either. I just have to keep telling myself the difference between FAMOUS and INFAMOUS. My definition of celebrity is very different than the mainstream FWIW.

Could AB and EB have been staying in the vehicle because of the power being off or because of what ever happened in the house?

oooooooo GOOD POINT!!! Never thought of that. Could they (EB and AB) have been staying in the truck while they "covered up" inside with all the cleaning and painting and stuff? Wonder if LE was able to tell there was no sign of Zahra's DNA anywhere on anything found in that Tahoe - especially the toothbrushes?

I am a few pages behind, but maybe this person is baiting her. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize how self absorbed she is, and how even a fleeting promise of fame & potentially $$ would bring out the "flirty" and manipulative personality. So creepy.

WHAT ABOUT Zahra?! Why wasn't she thinking about what she planned to be? Why wasn't her mom rushing around town to find the perfect pieces for her costume? Why wasn't EB planning a party for Z and her friends??

Yes, that speaks volumes about EB. BUT...What about her father? I just don't get that EB is totally responsible for this. Zahra wasn't her child.

Her own father didn't make sure she even went to school! How long had she had her prothesis leg? Surely she'd have outgrown it. When was the last time Zahra's father took her to the dentist? He couldn't even afford to feed her - just look at all the bad checks to grocery stores. And on and on it goes.

Still catching up and following current posts too.

IMHO I'm not sure how the owner of a letter would prove provenance. I'm not sure an envelope that has been opened (although it is addressed to a recipient) can prove the letter that is being offered for sale came in that particular envelope.

This is big business so to speak in that large amounts of money is paid by collectors of these kinds of items. (not EB's letter, but other items).

I don't know this particular dealer. Does he have a sterling irreproachable professional reputation?

I have no clue if these are indeed letters. FWIW, I could have written that letter...

No I take that back, I could have written a better letter and just based on info I have read in MSM articles and this crime board.

Causby seems to be the owner of the business and the property where the equipment was. Coffey, AB's boss, seems to be an employee of Causby's ("Real Tree Service"). Coffey is said to own the house (and property) where the Bakers were living.

That's my understanding.

Well, that would make more sense to me than the house being owned by Coffey and the property the house sits on being owned by Causby.

I think it's odd that the AOL story said it was an "exclusive", and only showed and quoted a few tiny excerpts, then almost immediately WCNC put up a pdf of all the pages and said they obtained the letters from Gein. What's with that?
