As for when the neighbors last heard the chipper at the house - you can bet your bottom dollar LE/FBI already know and did know quite early on - once those dogs hit.

Do we know for sure there was a chipper at the house? I'm trying to keep up but it's difficult. It seems the only report of dogs hitting on two chippers, one at the work site and one at the house, was on Nancy Grace and she often gets facts confused. Has it been reported elsewhere?

Any more reports on SM???
News went quiet after the admitting to ransom note.......
what are the odds of having a fire in your back yard,
a ransom note, a child missing, wood chipper in your back yard?
a red goo glove in your back yard?
a car with gas all over it?
2 cars with blood samples?
passports in car?
No one sees the little girl next door?
SM arrested on past crimes?
Can it get any clearer? JMOO

I think there is info in the scanner thread about this, it pertains to a pile of mulch in the backyard of the residence. Just adding here, simple math; dog hits cars, dog hits yard, dog hits muncher at Dad's work.

I don't think it could get any clearer if SM's daddy was a glass maker passion.

I was watching a Chilean minor be rescued... brought tears to my eyes... and missed a lot but wanted respond to Wise Old Owl (think I know you under different... uh... circumstances... lol)

I had never thought about them "finishing" up at home. That's an interesting concept, and probably dead on. I just assumed they were lazy and started small, went big, came up with story, yadda yadda. Yeah... I added "they" now. Not sure if I should but, I did.

WSOC 11:25 EDT update; no new video as yet:

---
The scene is down a dead end dirt road off of Hartland Road, north of Morganton, where police spent more than seven hours looking for clues around a wood chipper and in mulch piles.

Then around 5:30 p.m. searchers came back out to the area. About 50 people, including the FBI, Hickory Police and Burke County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. They're focusing their investigation on a mound of debris on the property. Heavy equipment and flood lights were brought out to remove the heavy brush and debris.

Police said they will be there all night long in what they described it as a "painstaking process" of looking for evidence in the mound.

The Burke County Sheriff told Eyewitness News just before 11 p.m. that information keeps leading them to that spot, but there's no proof yet if they're in the right place.

Zahra's father was out at the scene Tuesday night, but the Sheriff also told Eyewitness News that he thinks the father isn't being "cooperative" or "sincere."

Wow, not being sincere. Haven't heard that said before by LE regarding a parent of a missing child. Sums it up correctly though. Does that mean he is like laughing or acting like it's no big deal (uncaring, cold etc...) or that he is lying and therefore not being sincere with what he is saying?

ok not to argumentative or anything but the Sheriff THINKS the father isn't being "cooperative" or "sincere"

he either IS or he ISN't cooperating- seems it would be pretty obvious. Has the Sheriff not been out at the search site?

  • #112
I can't imagine LE would be at the mulch pile location all night unless there's a darned good reason. They've got to know something. Is it even remotely possible that they got some sort of DNA match between Zahra and something they found? There's no way on earth they can do DNA that fast, right?

I think he meant "in his opinion".

Perhaps he is not "sure" if he is being co-operative because they haven't found evidence yet to show he is lying. If there is nothing at this site and the father is claiming that than he is being co-operative. KWIM

Completely OT - But THE FIRST MINER IS OUT IN CHILI!!! They are showing him now coming out of the capsule!!! YEA YEA YEA - bunch of happy happy families there right about now!

This is such great news! I've got some tears in my eyes. This is the feel good story of the decade. :)

Yeah, you know, I typed that "they" stuff before I read the "not being cooperative or sincere" comment and :furious::furious:

What a fustercluck. I can't BELIEVE people like this walk on the same Earth as me and breathe the same air. Need to get my voodoo doll...

*JMO, last one tonight!*

Sincere: "I miss my daughter, I wonder where my daughter is. Just bring my daughter home!"

Cooperating: Brings LE to place of work to investigate to make sure fire in backyard isn't related to workplace.

LE and Dad get there, dad realizes that they are going to be there a lot longer than expected. This wasn't a quick once over to look around and poke at stuff.

Dad: sweating bullets.

/cooperating
/sincerity

JMO, of course.
Pretty sure the Sheriff is reading this on dad's face, too.

From Kimsters Twitter Link....

Adam Baker, Zahra's dad, is NOT in custody nor charged w/ any crime. Police say he's NOT being cooperative & they don't think he's sincere.
