Here is the pic. from earlier. I think the man in the white tee (I pasted the dad's pic. next to him) is the person we were speculating to be AB. Not a good pic but the closest they zoomed in. Just sharing, nothing new or conclusive.

handcuffedfather.png

If you go with 5 men standing there (3 in top row and two in bottom row), I was thinking the guy in the top row first one on left is the dad bc of his actions in the video.

He is standing with his feet apart, doubles over and grabs his forehead, his hands stay right in front of him and when he lifts one the other appears to go up with it like they are handcuffed. JMO

ok not to argumentative or anything but the Sheriff THINKS the father isn't being "cooperative" or "sincere"

he either IS or he ISN't cooperating- seems it would be pretty obvious. Has the Sheriff not been out at the search site?

Unless cooperating means going with and hanging out with LE at crime scene, not laywering up and not leaving or refusing to give the appearance of cooperation

ETA in that instance, copperating does not necessarily mean sincere. follow?

ET further A they may suspect he is not being fully forthcoming but he may be playing at being cooperative but dumb If You Know What I Mean

I can't imagine LE would be at the mulch pile location all night unless there's a darned good reason. They've got to know something. Is it even remotely possible that they got some sort of DNA match between Zahra and something they found? There's no way on earth they can do DNA that fast, right?
They got preliminary DNA back from Chelsea King in like a day. I would think something of significance has been found for searchlights to be brought in and now said they're staying all night - all that overtime in this economy - yep, they found something.

Hickory police ... charged the girl's stepmother with felony obstruction of justice, after they say Elisa Baker admitted writing a fake ransom note to throw off the investigation into Zahra Clare Baker's disappearance.
Trouble in the family had previously been reported to the Caldwell County Department of Social Services, according to a neighbor and relative of the Bakers, after witnesses saw Zahra with a black eye and other bruises.

There were signs of trouble from the beginning, relatives and neighbors said. "They kept Zahra locked in the bedroom all day, every day," Baird, 52, told the Observer.
Elisa Baker was also using drugs, specifically pain medication, Baird said. A search warrant says police discovered drug paraphernalia at their Hickory home, but doesn't specify what kind.

"I just think this was something for a long time that we knew was going to happen, everybody that was close to the family," ...
Bentley, who is married to Elisa Baker's nephew, said she would have Zahra over for weekends and the girl would get mad when it was time to return home. Zahra "was locked in her room, allowed five minutes out a day to eat, that was it," Bentley said.

taken from here (it's a decently long article for a newspaper, but lots of info.) it's a pretty infuriating article to be frank.

Gothic people are often thought to think more about death and gloomy things than most people. Their musical taste is often a good indication of their attitude about life, just like her song on myspace (White Zombie, Living Dead Girl).

I think people have been reading way too much into musical/subcultural choices in this thread. A few times it has been mentioned that the SM's musical tastes are 'inappropriate' for her age, or that the gloominess of the goth aesthetic might somehow be an indication of someone fascinated by death (implying perhaps that it means they are more open to killing others). I'm sorry, but this is really not worthy of the sleuthing that goes on here. Every day, fans of classical, country, hard-rock, punk, opera, funk, jazz, r&b, and gospel music commit countless horrific crimes. In those cases, as with this, the music is not the reason for their crimes. (Even in those few cases where musical/subcultural fanaticism has been linked to a crime, it usually conceals a deeper pathology.) Trying to make some sort of a connection between one's musical tastes and the crime s/he has committed does a disservice to the victim by pointing fingers at irrelevant factors rather than at the truth of the matter.

(Oh, and I believe it is 'Rob Zombie', not 'White Zombie'.)

From Kimsters Twitter Link....

Adam Baker, Zahra's dad, is NOT in custody nor charged w/ any crime. Police say he's NOT being cooperative & they don't think he's sincere.

I cannot imagine what the searchers are going through as they know what they are looking for and why. They know so much more than we do,enough to bring the sheriff to tears. I'm sure many of them have children and must be so emotional for them.
My prayers and support go out to them!!!

Police treating missing girl case as homicide

From the article...

The girl's father, Adam Baker, has not been charged in the case, though the chief said previously he hasn't been ruled out as a suspect. Police say he's cooperating in the case.
Adam Baker has said it was possible his wife could be involved in the disappearance, and other relatives echoed those remarks.
"I just think this was something for a long time that we knew was going to happen, everybody that was close to the family," relative Brittany Bentley said on CBS' "Early Show" on Tuesday.
Bentley, who is married to Elisa Baker's nephew, said she would have Zahra over for weekends and the girl would get mad when it was time to return home.
Zahra "was locked in her room, allowed five minutes out a day to eat, that was it," Bentley said. "She was beat almost every time I was over there for just the smallest things. Elisa would get mad, she would take it out on Zahra, things the kid didn't deserve. She just had a horrible home life."
Neighbors also feared the worst.

Besides being totally overwhelmed and with heavy heart over Zahra's sad story, I'm so far behind on these threads that I'm going backwards....you all or moving so fast and furious but I understand completely. I've heard & had enough ~thuds~...thanks to everyone for all the information being brought to the table here at ws.

I apologize in advance, but wonder if I might just interrupt and ask if any/many of you have seen these pics of this sweet girl yet?

I ask because there is something that bothers me about them...wondering if I'm alone in my feelings.

Regardless, I'm working my way thru this heartbreaker. Just when we think we've heard it all...

There is no doubt now that this is a major part of the crime scene. Plus, I am sure they want to collect as much evidence as possible since the crime scene is outdoors to prevent the environment from destroying, washing away evidence (rain, etc.)

Thank You!

I was totally focused on guy at bottom, white tee, blue jeans, broad shouldered, maybe not too tall but "thick" if you follow me?

TY for pointing out who everyone else was focused on. I must be getting tired. It is frustrating. I am mentally pooped but too keyed up to think about bed.

All of these people knew about this poor little girl being abused? OMG!

In my opinion there is no way the father didn't know about this!

from the same article bellyup posted...

"...Next-door neighbor Charles Bost, who says Zahra's father and stepmother, Adam and Elisa Baker, chatted with him in the yard once or twice and mentioned their dog. But, he says, in the month and a half the Baker's lived here, they never mentioned a daughter. "I didn't even know that she existed. I mean I've never seen her and I never heard him mention her or anything like that,” Bost said.

When I took my shower earlier I was thinking about Zahra and this case- while I am/was giving Dad the benefit of the doubt, (and will neither be surprised or upset if he isn't involved) if the working theory of the wood chipper is true there really was a very little window time for SM to accomplish this grizzly task while Dad was at work.
