They got preliminary DNA back from Chelsea King in like a day. I would think something of significance has been found for searchlights to be brought in and now said they're staying all night - all that overtime in this economy - yep, they found something.

YEP. Either that or someone up high has put his *ss in a sling, convinced they are on the right track enough to justify the expenditure! I think they got something.

Besides being totally overwhelmed and with heavy heart over Zahra's sad story, I'm so far behind on these threads that I'm going backwards....you all or moving so fast and furious but I understand completely. I've heard & had enough ~thuds~...thanks to everyone for all the information being brought to the table here at ws.

I ask because there is something that bothers me about them...wondering if I'm alone in my feelings.

Are these pics more recent? I remember a comment way earlier from someone claiming to know the family who said Zahra looked nothing like the pics being released to the public of her. If these two pics are more recent than that person was correct.

Tarabull, I'll jump in...she doesn't look like the same happy little girl as in previous pictures and something doesn't look right about the right eye as you're facing her. (would be her left eye)

Off Topic..I'm sorry we are all here for this horrible crime but I'm seeing old friends post who I haven't seen in a long time! I'm glad to see everyone but so sad about the circumstances that are bringing us together.

Maybe I am being naive, but is it possible that LE is 'breaking' him by forcing him back to the scene of the crime?
He raised that little girl for at least 5 years on his own...he surely must have SOME emotion...even if it is feeling 'cornered' by what LE knows??

I think people have been reading way too much into musical/subcultural choices in this thread. A few times it has been mentioned that the SM's musical tastes are 'inappropriate' for her age, or that the gloominess of the goth aesthetic might somehow be an indication of someone fascinated by death (implying perhaps that it means they are more open to killing others). I'm sorry, but this is really not worthy of the sleuthing that goes on here. Every day, fans of classical, country, hard-rock, punk, opera, funk, jazz, r&b, and gospel music commit countless horrific crimes. In those cases, as with this, the music is not the reason for their crimes. (Even in those few cases where musical/subcultural fanaticism has been linked to a crime, it usually conceals a deeper pathology.) Trying to make some sort of a connection between one's musical tastes and the crime s/he has committed does a disservice to the victim by pointing fingers at irrelevant factors rather than at the truth of the matter.

(Oh, and I believe it is 'Rob Zombie', not 'White Zombie'.)

Gosh my musical taste runs the gambit from Broadway, Country, Pop, Classic Rock, Alternative and Metal to name a few.

One of my Favorite songs is "Fade to Black" by Metallica but it sure doesn't mean I'm ready to check out of life. (and I'm....well older than 42 lol)

OTOH it took a month or so give or take to get the DNA results back for Sylar Newton.

Hope it won't take that long in this instance!

No, I totally agree with you.... My fave band for at least a decade is Tool. Now, you wouldn't get that of me, maybe... I listen to Ray LaMontagne, Damien Rice, Amy Winehouse, George Jones, Mozart, etc.... You can get the picture. I like a variety of musical tastes. Yes, I love Tool, and I have tattoos, and I'm a mom (38) with girls of 5. One shouldn't equate musical tastes with being a criminal.

However.... I think this woman (stepmom) maybe didn't like the music per se but used it as shock factor to get attention. I dunno, just a hunch, and I know people who live in NC and love Metallica. lol They are wonderful people...

I agree with you 100%, just never commented earlier as I was working and didn't have the time to make such a post.

I have not seen those before. She looks different than other photos, thinner, no smile. Could they (whoever has the camera) be taking them for a passport photo? I just thought with the sheet hung for a backdrop and the 3 passports found in the vehicle according to the search warrant that might be it.

No. had not seen those pics of Zahra. Where did you get those if I can ask?

Image/attachment #2 was very disturbing when taken into close up range. Perhaps just the graininess of the photo but her eyes, they are haunting.

Yes, ITA those pictures are haunting and telling. Why the "white sheet" backdrop? Its next to the kitchen so could be the fridge. Almost looks like a horrible attempt at a passport picture?

That poor child. My heart hurts when I look at her in these. You can truly see the pain, desparation, fear, loneliness, longing for love in this beautiful girl. Oh how I would have loved to have her come live with me and my beautiful DD - who would have loved to be the big sister. God surely had a very special place for this one.
