They are both disturbing, like she doesnt want them taken and what is with that white sheer draped behind her? A passport pic? But who takes a passport pic like that? Certainly isnt a happy kid there, or even pretending to be. The video of her getting her new hearing aides is priceless, she looks so happy and excited... These look like shes on an auction block.

I am so F'n SAD AND P'OD!!!!

Believe me darlin' I so want it to be a feeble attempt at a home passport photo.

However, I don't think this type of pic has been accepted for such since at the very least, 9/11.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

OMG...a woodchipper??!!

Please tell me they're not serious.

Just got back from work and trying to catch up on the new threads.

*nods* It is looking that way... such a horrific turn of events...

Since the Aussie biomom were on their tails, maybe they were getting ready to flee.

Zahra looks so much like my 10 yo niece, it is heart-wrenching to see pictures
And the odd fact that 3 passports were found in the gas-drenched SUV. Strange thread that just keeps popping up huh? Maybe they were going to change their identities - including Zahra because bio mom was getting too close?

Yes I agree - getting real tuckered out here too - but me thinks sleep tonight is going to be quite uncomfortable.

Could it be for home schooling? What sort of docs do you need to give the Government when you do that?

Does anyone know what she actually looked like recently, length of hair etc?

Members of WS are savvy, and some of the most informed people in comparison to the general public that does not follow crimes and missing persons cases.

I, for one, don't believe that any WSer here is under the naive impression that someone's Myspace page choice of decor means anything remotely to the alleged crimes that are said to have occured.

WSer's are as a whole- incrediably curious though and if we see something we stop, look, ask what-why-how-who-before we process the info and then decide to keep it in the collective conscious as we continue to look at crimes.

Personally I don't think a self identifier as "goth" means squat in relation to Zahra what happened to her or where she is but that's just my little ol' humble opinion :)

such a good comment. i cringe when people imply that someone's character is based on their exterior.

Like I said earlier Zahra's hearing impairment gives her a special place in my heart (and makes this so very hard)
Talking about the video of her getting her hearing aides just makes me smile, because I have seen that look of joy on her face before. going from silent to sound is an emotional thing especially since she had hearing until she got sick-
(I haven't seen it anywhere but I am assuming when they say her hearing loss was because of the cancer that it was the antibiotics they gave her that did the damage)

Ok i need to go text my daughter and tell her \lm/ !

Who keeps passports in their car? That is very strange and I hadn't heard that before.

I wonder how on their tails the bio mum was?

Some people have speculated whether Zahra’s father, Adam Baker, was involved in his daughter’s murder. Baker’s boss, Fred Causby, doesn’t think so.
Causby owns Real Tree Services and operates the company on property at 2830 Hartland Road, about two miles due west of Foothills Regional Airport north of Morganton. He hired Baker as a laborer about six months ago.
“He started in March or April,” Causby said. “He’s just a hard-working individual.”
Causby gave his permission for law enforcement to search his property with a K-9 unit on Saturday. He said they were looking for Zahra’s remains on his industrial wood chipper and a 4-foot-high pile of wood chips.
Causby said the dog alerted on the chipper and the pile, but two days of intense searching by a combined force of Hickory police, Burke County deputies, SBI agents and FBI agents failed to turn up any evidence.
Sources in Hickory said investigators returned to the scene Tuesday night.

I'm of the opinion we can't look at pictures of individuals and see if they are happy or unhappy, if there are other persons in that pic what the relationship might have been between the two---etc. Happy adored children can take pics that make them look miserable, abused children can look happy in pics...that kind of thing IMHO.

But yes, this child's eyes have the 1000 yard stare of a chronically and critically abused child. Kind of a PTSD stare, if you will.

Strange photo setting. Wonder what is up with this?

Just a thought: If this was for a passport photo she could be looking so upset because she is leaving her home and everyone/thing she has known to come to the states. That would be scary at any age.

I'm thinking passport photo also.

I wonder if SM would threaten Zahra with sending her back to Australia?

"If you don't behave.......back to Australia."
"If you ever tell anyone about this..........."

The "passport" pic - her hair. From the middle top down HER left side (our right) - that's a butcher job. Looks to me and this is JMHO but that is another example of this evil woman's anger/hate/lashing - doesn't it look like someone just grabbed handfuls of hair and cut; grab the next one and cut; and so on? Plus her left cheek and eye do look like she's been hit recently.

I think people have been reading way too much into musical/subcultural choices in this thread. A few times it has been mentioned that the SM's musical tastes are 'inappropriate' for her age, or that the gloominess of the goth aesthetic might somehow be an indication of someone fascinated by death (implying perhaps that it means they are more open to killing others). I'm sorry, but this is really not worthy of the sleuthing that goes on here. Every day, fans of classical, country, hard-rock, punk, opera, funk, jazz, r&b, and gospel music commit countless horrific crimes. In those cases, as with this, the music is not the reason for their crimes. (Even in those few cases where musical/subcultural fanaticism has been linked to a crime, it usually conceals a deeper pathology.) Trying to make some sort of a connection between one's musical tastes and the crime s/he has committed does a disservice to the victim by pointing fingers at irrelevant factors rather than at the truth of the matter.

(Oh, and I believe it is 'Rob Zombie', not 'White Zombie'.)

I would never, ever judge someone based on their taste in music (though I am sometimes surprised). But this woman proudly declared herself a "Goth" and said she was proud of it. IMO, that's not relegated simply to music, but more of an overall lifestyle. A lifestyle suited to someone MUCH, MUCH younger.

That's JMO.

Don't forget you can press control then plus on your keyboard to make things bigger if you need to. To get it back to normal just press control then minus on the top row of keys.

Thank You darnudes!!! I didn't know that. Thanks again.

the 1000 yard stare. So aptly describing the feel of gazing into this child's eyes.

That picture is haunting for sure. I have noticed that she does do this closed mouth smile thing in a lot of pictures which also reminds me of Kiesha Abrahams.

You're more than welcome. When I found out you could do this I use it all the time now.

tlcox I don't openly discuss experiences I've had in our open forums but yes I've seen that look before and it wasn't on a child.

That's why when I saw the look, I stopped and sat for a moment before I responded.

It hit me "1000 yard stare".
