Look at her... she just looked Auzzie. Look at her freckles. How beautiful. What a difference from earlier when I saw those horrible photos of her. In those, I clearly see a bruised eye/face on the right side (not camera right, her right). I'm really saddened and angry right now, and those "passport photos" did it. Disgusting. Anger. Yeah... I'm time-outing myself and will meet up with you guys tomorrow... Yes, I will lurk as I work, but my heart will be with you.

That's a good idea! I asked Fifth Essence earlier tonight if they had a chart for Zahra yet, kinda on purpose as I wanted the people watching this thread to become members and seek out that area as well, but I didn't get an answer... not that I know of anyway. I've been in an out.

Still, she hopes for the best for the little girl who beat cancer, the girl whose disappearance was still a mystery Tuesday evening, the girl that nobody in the neighborhood ever knew.

Records show Baker attended Hudson Elementary School in Caldwell County in March 2009, finishing third grade. She moved to Granite Falls Elementary School through March 2010 then finished fourth grade back at Hudson.

The school system says she was enrolled for fifth grade at Hudson but never showed up. Her parents told the school that she was being home schooled but The North Carolina Division of Non Public Schools says there is no record of Adam or Elisa Baker currently operating a home school.

I hate to think and post this, but I keep getting Stephanie and Nathan Sloop vibes with this case. I have this sinking feeling it is going to be much worse than we imagine when we finally get conclusive answers....

All I can think is they were abusing this girl for months and did not allow her to start school because of the evidence of physical abuse. I keep feeling, like Stephanie Sloop, this child needed medical attention due to the abuse and the SM and dad didn't want to get in trouble with the authorities... and just like poor Ethans case the abuse continued until she passed, then the need to come up with the abduction story.

Thinking about what this child likely endured makes me want to uke:

Family,friends, and relatives said Monday that Zahra was an exceedingly polite girl, brave in the face of bone cancer and adorable with her Australian accent.

She and her father were living in Australia when Adam Baker met his wife-to-be online about two years ago.

I'm not sure even in the light of what has happened that SM meant it as a slur against Zahra. Perhaps because in this picture Zahra is dressed in all black she is a dark child? I cut up about my youngest being "dark" because she prefers dark, black or abby dawn clothing LOL KWIM? JMHO I could be wrong.

I so agree Cubby. I had to take a break from this forum after Ethan. That one got to me more than any other. It also reminds me of Robert Maxwell. But Ethan!!! I still see that baby in my dreams..I agree about the physical abuse and hope and pray there wasn't other types of abuse.

I have been trying real hard to keep up with this thread tonight, but my speed reading must not be working anymore, So I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, When it comes to operating a wood chipper, the person who is feeding the wood into the chipper is covered with sawdust, now I realize that a human body is much heavier but I can tell you the small particles of blow back would be evident all over that person's clothing, could that have been what was burning in the mulch pile, I hope like heck that LE was able to either get the complete clothing or if not at least some pieces because I would imagine there would be all kinds of stuff embedded in those clothes.

But this woman proudly declared herself a "Goth" and said she was proud of it. IMO, that's not relegated simply to music, but more of an overall lifestyle. A lifestyle suited to someone MUCH, MUCH younger.

I don't think that 'lifestyle' is a particularly illuminating concept. Goths eat, sleep, work, just like opera and gospel fans. 'Goth' refers to some aesthetic and cultural choices -- mainly pertaining to music, clothing, imagery. None of these things leads to a person being an abusive, negligent, or murderous parent. I'm not sure who is the authority on judging when these things are age-appropriate or not. Do we criticize a child who likes (mature) classical music? Or, say, do we criticize Neil Young (no spring chicken) for being a fan of model trains? (By the way -- Rob Zombie (aka 'White Zombie' in 2 messages posted today) -- was born in 1965, making him older than the SM.) We're not talking about a child molester using Bratz or Hanna Montana fandom to develop rapport with victims, here. If the argument is that the SM spent too much time listening to goth music or putting together goth outfits (and neglected her step-daughter because of it -- an argument I haven't heard yet), I would have to wonder if people would question her tastes the same way if she was a rabid golfer, preternaturally concerned with delivering a small white ball into a distant hole.

I think people are highly selective of which subcultures they feel justified in criticizing on these grounds. This isn't a new form of prejudice, either. Of all of the things a person could criticize about the SM here, age-inappropriate music and dress seem like two highly irrelevant and insignificant ones.
