Wow, Brittany says she has beat Elisa's arse 2 times.
Maybe that's how she got the black eye in the photo I saw here last night.

Many times when you are on chemo and lose your hair it will come back a different color. And it will change from curly to straight and vice versa.

I was on a form of chemo for arthritus for a while. My hair got very very curly while I was on the drug. After being off the drug for 6 months my hair went stick straight again.

A friend of mine was toe head blonde and had straight hair. After her chemo for breast cancer when her hair grew back it was red and curly.

It is possible she was blonder because of the chemo.

There are a few family members on that facebook page. A. Fairchild made some comments about Adam doing nothing except sitting and watching the abuse happen.

Zahra Clare Baker, 10, gets a hearing aid fitted at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C, in May. She was reported missing over the weekend.

"We understand the public wants to help find Zahra. The problem is we cannot confirm with any confidence how long Zahra has been missing," he said. "Without this information, we cannot positively select the area to search for her."
Zahra's father, Adam Baker, has said it was possible his wife could be involved in the disappearance, and other relatives echoed those remarks.

When did he last see her? He doesn't know? WTH.

To relatives and former neighbors, Elisa Baker had a short fuse. In interviews and court documents, they portrayed her as nasty-tempered and willing to use a gun or her fists to settle an argument and say her disabled stepdaughter usually bore the brunt of her rage.

Baker's court-appointed attorney, Scott Reilly, said she was "scared to death" and very emotional about everything.

"She's upset about being held in jail...

..."She was always beating her," former neighbor Karen Yount said Tuesday. "I told her to stop but she wouldn't listen to anyone. That poor girl." :furious:

Caldwell County Court records show that (Brittany) Bentley filed a complaint May 13 against Elisa Baker, claiming she threatened to kill her and her young daughter in a dispute over money. She said Elisa Baker threatened them with a stun gun and a gun, and Bentley feared for their lives.

Ten days later, Yount said in her complaint that Elisa Baker made verbal threats against her child.

"She said my daughter and other girls were talking about her daughter. That wasn't true. She just started screaming and shouting and threatening to hit everybody," Yount said.

Sometimes after cancer treatment, hair comes back a different texture and color.

From that article...

According to relatives and former neighbors, Baker was nasty-tempered and willing to use a gun or her fists to settle an argument. They also said her stepdaughter usually bore the brunt of her rage.

"She was always beating her," former neighbor Karen Yount said Tuesday. "I told her to stop but she wouldn't listen to anyone. That poor girl."

I just don't get it. How can you know that someone is "always beating" a child and all you do is tell her to stop but don't go beyond that if she doesn't listen. People have to know that if someone is willing to do that sort of thing within your view, they are doing far worse behind closed doors.

I would call DSS/police every damned day til someone did something. And it they never did, I'd probably get myself arrested trying to get her away from the torture. And it would be worth it!

There's that gun again - the TASER gun? Was everyone frightened of her? moo

Sorry, I didn't state where I got this info.
It's from the "Love 4 Zahra Clare Baker" FB page.

People on there are coming down hard on all the adults in Zahra's life not reporting the abuse. Brittany is say she did report it a lot and even beat EB's arse 2 times. She's saying what more could she do???

That Brittany has spunk, I do believe she tried all she could - she is only quite young with a husband in Iraq and 2 kids, maybe she just didn't know what else to do. She did say short of kidnapping Zahra which would only land her in jail and send Zahra back to the step mother, what else could she do. I feel for this girl I really do.

I was just thinking.....

I read somewhere that Zahra's cancer traveled to her lungs. I don't recall where I read this, just read something about Lung Cancer recently.
Can anyone fill me in on this? If true, things sounded dire for her.

And I'm wondering if that recent turn of health had something to do with this. If she was killed to get it over with AND perhaps to keep her alive on paper to get monthly money for her or something?

I just wonder if they received any type of monthly gov funds for Zahra somehow?

The stepmother of a missing 10-year-old girl presumed dead showed no emotion as she made her first appearance in court on an obstruction of justice charge.

Elisa Baker appeared before Judge Gregory Hayes for about five minutes Wednesday morning. Hayes explained the charge and told Baker she could be sentenced to up to 30 months in prison if she is convicted.

...Baker's next hearing on the charge will be Nov. 3.

(Article says nothing about bail.)
