Its what they do if they like you. They just move you to another station. Most of the time though the one that reports it is moved. It is a deterrent to reporting sexual assaults

Holy cow. The allegations go back to high school. And he had been prosecuted but got a diversion. Which itself doesn't make sense that he was allowed to enlist with that still hanging over him. And how many (3+) criminal allegations against him since he had been in the Navy and still wasn't in confinement? That just is not acceptable.

NAVAL STATION NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A military judge has ruled that evidence from the search of sailor Jermiah Copeland’s cell phone can be used in his upcoming court-martial for the murder of fellow sailor Petty Officer Angelina Resendiz of Brownsville.

Judge Frank Hutchinson revealed during a motions hearing Thursday that he found Copeland consented to the search of his cell phone when he was questioned by investigators about the disappearance of Resendiz in June 2025.

A month long trial has been set for June.

Resendiz’s mother, Esmeralda Cantu-Castle, ran as a Democrat for State House District 37 and is headed to a runoff against Oziel “Ozzie” Ochoa Jr. in May.

In September, a trial counsel at Naval Station Norfolk presented accounts from four women who have accused Copeland of sexual assault.

In a separate allegation outlined in Navy documents, Copeland is accused of raping a sailor in a bar bathroom in Norway in November 2024 while the Truman was stationed overseas. He is also charged with recording and sharing the alleged assault.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Copeland was transferred back to Naval Station Norfolk in January 2025.

Additional allegations followed. In April 2025, Copeland allegedly strangled another woman on base. Then, on May 25, 2025, Copeland is accused of raping a civilian woman in his barracks — just days before Angelina Resendiz’s death.

I am a vet as well as an ex milspouse and IMO the people who just transferred him should be charged a well. Im sure after this guy was let off so many times he thought he could do it as well.

As a civilian, I was shocked to hear the charges & nothing was done.
Also his supervisor seeing her in his bed bothers me a lot.

I'm not sure I have met a female service member that has not been groomed or sexually assaulted while in the service. Its sad but its kinda the Epstein secret of the military. Just because your child enlist in the military doesnt mean they are grown up.
