Found Deceased ND - Andrew Sadek, 20, Wahpeton, 1 May 2014 *alledged undercover drug informant*

  • #281
In May, Sadek and her husband John announced plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Richland County and Jason Weber, Wahpeton. Weber was named as an individual, a Richland County Sheriff’s deputy and as a task force officer of the Southeast Multi-County Agency drug task force, also known as SEMCA.

“He was bullied, I can’t think of another word, other than bullied, into becoming a CI (confidential informant),” Tammy Sadek said.

Weber’s attorney, Corey Quinton, Fargo, declined comment. He had advised Weber, who was also contacted, not to comment. Tim O’Keefe, one of the Sadeks’ attorneys, also declined to comment on the case.

The family of a North Dakota student who was found dead in 2014 in a river with a backpack full of rocks and a bullet in his head filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a sheriff's deputy who lured him into selling drugs as a confidential informant shortly before his killing.

The new suit accuses a Richland County sheriff’s deputy, Jason Weber, of scaring Andrew Sadek, who was 20 at the time, with the prospect of prison time for selling $80 worth of marijuana if he didn’t agree to undercover work, and then failing to train the college student for the dangerous job.

I am glad the judge refused the gag order request. I have 2 sons living in Fargo and Andrew's case, along with the unsolved case of Thomas Bearson, truly make me concerned. I am not sure how transparency would taint the jury pool, unless there is something that the DTF/Richland County wants to hide.
Every time I hear about a gag order request, I just think "guilty".
