40-year-old Mark Davies is missing. The last time friends or family members heard from him was when he was in Kathryn. Friends say his disappearance is suspicious. Davies is always with his dog, Hank, but he left home without the dog. Davies drives a black 1999 GMC Yukon with North Dakota plates 327 CCM.

Valley City Police Chief Phil Hatcher says ground and air searches have been conducted and so far there’s been no sign of Davies or his Black 1999 GMC Yukon. He says members of the Valley City Fire Department have searched the Clausen Springs area.

According to a news release by the Barnes County Sheriff’s office about 9am on September 26th a vehicle was located one mile north of Kathryn in the Sheyenne River. It appears the vehicle was traveling south on County Road 21. This vehicle left the roadway and entered the Sheyenne River. The vehicle that was recovered was registered to Mark Davies. The body was located inside his vehicle. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
