But WHY was the window open? It was cold that night! Driving with window open - now I am very uneasy.

I'm wondering if she tried to open it up to get out, knowing she was in trouble. That would be my first instinct, anyway. Poor lady, what a horrible way to die.

So does this mean since the days that have passed, they haven’t done a land search in the area?

I’m not certain. I haven’t read anywhere that states they have done a land search up to this point. Possibly since they found her car in the slough they’ve only focused in the water. Mere speculation though.

Search crews have found the body of a missing woman

Sheriff Chad Kaiser says they found the body of Sonia Heinle around six this Thursday evening in the slough close to where her car was found, submerged on Wednesday. The vehicle was empty and a window was down.

The sheriff says he's relieved they found Heinle and are able to give the family some closure.

IMO she tried to save herself but it was probably just too cold or she couldn't get to solid ground
