Police said AFTER they found the body they had no reason to believe foul play was involved, and didn't think the public was at risk. Then they come back with homicide. They still haven't said they believe the public is at risk. So I really wouldn't think it means anything by them saying they don't have a suspect, they could be saying that on purpose, hopefully will know more soon.

I scoured the news reports after it was reported, "Police believe no foul play..." and I could not find a direct quote or a video clip showing an officer actually saying that.

My estimation is that in the jumble of gathering the news, a news reporter misspoke. Then again, I may have missed the video clip of the officer saying that.

THURSDAY 10 PM UPDATE

Homicide might have been something investigators were considering all along, and the autopsy results simply confirmed their suspicions.
The autopsy says that 18 year old Thomas Bearson died as a result of homicidal violence, meaning various types of wounds and a variety of injuries.

So the statement that they had no reason to believe foul play was involved was not true. I'm guessing the statement about they have no suspect/suspects in mind isn't true either.

I automatically file all of the police statements in the same file cabinet I have where they declare: "There is no evidence the child was abducted." "There is no evidence that she left the scene unwillingly.", "There is no evidence that she is dead."

Most of these statements are legal, politically correct blab.

My immense frustration begins when they ask the public for help in finding the person, SHOE, PHONE but then don't allow the public to know more information.

My opinion is that if they let out more detail on exactly how he was killed, the people close to him might start looking at some of their friends and thinking..."Oh yeah, I remember when he showed us that knife, or that gun, or that baseball bat." Or, "Oh yeah I remember when he was drunk and told us if he ever had to kill someone he would do it like ..."

The manner in which he was killed, the location in which he was found and the distance from where he was last seen are critical to figuring this out.

I also need a volunteer willing to go to Fargo...anyone? Rocco? MagicMan08?

I found him on MySpace as Wenzel98. Also are we allowed to post twitter stuff on here? I found a twitter of a racist saying "Lolz u dead" at Tom (after they found body) and also I had noticed 2 days ago before they found the body that there was someone that was at least one racist that was friends with them. You know this because their username will end in 1488, and in some cases 88 but you can't be sure if its just 88 without more evidence. I know this sounds strange but I had noticed this and then w that tweet from the really racist profile I was like what the heck...maybe no connection there but just was wondering.

Rocco do you think there was a bar fight and then someone used the text to cover it up? Or the text was a coincidence?

Interesting updated article with quotes from Moorhead PD - but be careful when reading it. Some of the quotes might be taken out of context - for example, the Lieutenant says it is an emotional crime, but he may be referring to it as the emotions surrounding what happened - not necessarily that it is a crime based off of emotion - given the next quote is that he realizes that many people's first reaction could be anger. So take the quotes with a grain of salt and don't read too much into them.

Also, probably not a bar fight as he was only 18.

I do believe, however, that a physical fight probably caused his death. It may not have been 100% obvious until the autopsy.

A few years ago in St. Cloud, a bouncer punched a drunk bar patron who later died, and not too long ago there was a St. Cloud State student who was walking near campus and got punched, fell and hit his head, and died.

In May of this year, a Mankato State graduate was punched outside a bar and almost died. He has permanant brain damage but is making a remarkable recovery.

(Side note...be very careful about sleuthing people on twitter. I believe the TOS forbids it.)

OK, can I say then without violating TOS that I found a person on twitter with a VERY VERY racist profile, that did tweet at Tom AFTER the body was found, and said "lolz u dead" and then at least one other person noticed the tweet, called it sick, and was obviously disturbed by it. It caught my attention because the day before I was noticing some people when browsing the friends lists that seemed to have some racist connections, some I wasn't sure, at least one I was sure. Just worth noting I think, even if it has nothing to do w/ this, because maybe some people were mad at him for ideological stuff. I see the paper says they searched a "specific area of Moorhead." I still wonder how they knew to search that area? Was he meeting someone in that area? Did they find another phone that they are not telling us about that was pinging from there? A tip? Interesting.

I am not familiar or savvy when it comes to twitter. So when I look at these lists of twitters it seems like the hashtag will bring up a whole bunch of different tweets that are not related to each other. An example is when I search, #RIPTOM, many, many tweets come up that are not related to the Tom we are talking about. Is there a chance that this is the case? Could you privately message me a link to what you are looking at so I can understand?

Is it possible that this is the area they were lost in earlier? I've been wondering if JW has been so quiet because something happened (and he was semi-serious about them dying), but he hasn't said anything about it publicly either out of fear or because LE told him not to. If that were the case and TB ran into the person/people on his way home, it may have restarted and escalated. I could be wrong, it's happened once or twice before, but I just don't see JW being involved in the death. MOO

YOU are one smart cookie you know that? I just went to the tweeting twitters. This is not a mistaken tweet and it's directed not only at Tommy but also at CM. Also, this person tweeting this has connections to Minnesota and baseball...VERY, VERY interesting.

You just know the FBI has got to be all over that. They just have to be. I would be.

I also think this tweet is the important clue in the whole thing.and if someone can figure that out then we would have our killer.
I think lost could maen that they were lost in what to do as the predicament they were in and they needed more input in what to do.

According to someone I just spoke with, KFGO radio is reporting that police are questioning whether this was 'Racially motivated".

ANYONE??? else hear that? This person said it was on the radio this morning out in ND.

I wanted to bring forward the Sept 21 article with CM's information about that night. It sounds like CM texted back a response, not tweeted. Obviously we have no record of texts. I can't find the article where CM stated that they (TB and JW??) got a ride to his house but I know I read that. Again, can we assume that they texted their "lost" location to CM who sent someone to pick them up?

Mead responded, asking him to text him his address. The next day, he said he hadn't seen Bearson "since last night when he left my house."

When asked if Bearson left with anyone, Mead responded, "Not that I know of. He did mention going somewhere with some baseball players but I'm not sure."

(BBM) Excellent point, we don't know what else there is. We are all operating on the information we have and not what we don't have. We, (the general public) don't know how JW and TB got to the place on the 800 block of 14th st. in Fargo.
