Boyfriend of Camisha Hollis will stand trial for child abuse charges

Hollis' boyfriend and father of her children Marvin Young was arrested on child abuse charges around the time of her disappearance, and it is now ruled that he will stand trial.

Young is accused of drugging his daughters with cough medicine the night their mother vanished.

There is no word yet on a trial date.

Camisha Hollis and Marvin Young had been together for nearly two decades, but law enforcement officials say abuse and domestic violence plagued the relationship.

In a court hearing Tuesday, a Chief Deputy Douglas County Attorney pointed to those examples as evidence that she said links Marvin Young to Hollis’ disappearance and presumed slaying in April 2018.

Martin Young plead no contest to manslaughter after a plea deal.

OMAHA, Neb. — Some closure, but still no peace for the family of an Omaha woman, as her boyfriend pleads no contest in her death.

Martha Hollis spent years searching for her daughter, Camisha Hollis.

Young is now convicted of manslaughter. The plea deal did not require him to say where he left Hollis' body.

OMAHA, Neb. (FOX 42 KPTM) — An Omaha family learned Thursday what will happen to the man prosecutors say killed their mother.

Douglas County District judge Horacio J Wheelock sentenced Marvin Young to 23 years in prison on Manslaughter, Child Abuse, and Tampering with evidence charges.

The Manslaughter charge carries the largest sentence.

Camisha Hollis, who was 34 years old when she was reported missing in April 2018, has been declared legally dead.

Camisha Hollis, who was 34 years old when she was reported missing in April 2018, has been declared legally dead.

Documents filed on Tuesday state that according to Nebraska law, she can be declared legally dead after a period of five years. The delcaration order indicates that evidence supplied by Marvin Young, who was sentenced in April 2022 to serve 23 years in prison for her homicide, was considered proof that she died “on or about” April 1, 2018.
