Those photos of Chance, his wife and baby are simply beautiful.
Dear Lord, please let this daddy come home to his child and to his wife.
Whatever went wrong, can be righted with patience and
G.(ood) O.(rderly) D.(irection).
Against the odds, praying this good young cowboy finds his way back home.
Praying extra hard for this one, because if he's still alive, they've got a "chance". No pun intended! PTL.

Amateur opinion and speculation (and yes, a little old time religion for good measure!)

Families get in arguments. Things are said. Sometimes, the affected parties don't speak to each other for some time, which leaves a cooling-off period.

Hoping and praying CE comes back to his family, and that any issues work themselves out.

JMVHO.

I hopeand pray there is someone in CE's life that he feels he can reach out to, who can support him if and when he comes home. It isn't hard to leave when you feel overwhelmed by life but as circumstances settle down, it can be nigh impossible to return to the situations that made you leave.

I think we are way passed cooling off periods, sad to say. I hope he is found, for his child's sake. I can't imagine growing up, not only without a father, but not even knowing what happened to him. Always wondering if your father is out there somewhere, alive, but just doesn't want to see me. That would be heartbreaking.

Welcome to WS @Midwest37 !! It sounds like you live in Gering.
He told the friend that he called for a ride that he was walking in a ditch. If the canal that runs along side Stable Club would not have been dry, do you have an opinion as to what ditch he may have been referring to?
Yes, I do live in the area. I believe the comment made to his friends on the phone, was on the call he made just shortly after he left BE’s grandparent’s home. This was prior to when he was seen on surveillance footage walking North on 10th street. So I haven’t spent much time trying to determine what ditch he would have been talking about since it wouldn’t have been related to his location at the time he went missing.

And thanks for the “welcoming me!”

Unfortunately, there's two scenarios going through my mind that's happened here:

1. a terrible drowning
2. foul play

I hope and pray that I am wrong, but it just doesn't feel right to me, that he wouldn't be in touch with his own family and friends since that night. Something stinks in Denmark, if he hasn't drowned, poor guy. I hope he is found soon. Sitting on my hands for now.

This is where I'm at. I think if he had drowned in a ditch or canal, he would have been found by now. On the other hand, foul play on a terribly stormy night where the victim is a healthy young man seems unlikely. Him walking away is still a possibility too; after too many cases here of various types, I've learned to never say never, despite what family and friends think (i.e., "he'd never walk away") because people are very good at hiding deep dark secrets.

No updates, nothing. I would hope family would be organizing search parties at this point to pickup where LE left off.

I still say that the key to this is the content of the argument and a year of stressful situations prior to that evening, an engagement, marriage, new baby, lost job and new job.
It is also stressful for families to get used to each other and he was spending a week with his in-laws. It is acknowledged that there was an argument during the golf outing and he was there without his own family as support.
How could any family member say "Yeah, he left us on purpose." family and friends will always say"He would never leave, something happened to him".
I believe a friend or two know where he is and helped him out of the area the night of the storm and are not talking.
And this is all based on hopeful optimism and MOO MOO MOO and MOO.

I’m sure we all share your hope, that against the stacked odds, that somehow Chance is still out there. Unfortunately, I think it’s far more likely he perished the night he disappeared, yet to be found.
Continued prayers for his family.

i had not heard there was an argument at the golf course. I had only read that he and his wife had a argument. Was wondering if that was true. That would explain why he didn't want to go back to her grandparents home.

If you look at the pictures of his wife holding their son, and his mother, brother, and law enforcement are doing interview, his wife is not wearing a wedding ring. Does this seem odd to anyone other than me?

I noticed it too and thought about it and decided it could be as simple as forgetting to put it back on after she washed her hands, or as serious as having taken it off in response to the argument and his taking the walk.
There is everything we do not know about the content of arguments, conversations etc. with family, that could span the whole year before this walk. I know from experience how hard it is to mesh families, especially with a new baby. Everyone has advice and judgements as to what should be done and how it should be done. Well meaning in many instances and always "given in love". Sometimes everything just piles up and then blows.

If she gained weight during the recent pregnancy the ring may not fit. I gained weight briefly post-surgery after I got married and I chose to not wear the band for a few months til I lost the weight, rather than possibly damage the ring in re-sizing it.

I check Facebook pages and Gering Police Dept. and Scotts Bluff newspaper everyday to see if there have been any credible sightings or any information and nothing but crickets. Just many very sad and bewildered folks who are spending their days and nights not knowing.

There have been some fundraising efforts and an upcoming silent auction to fund the search efforts. But nothing on news outlets.

It is curious to me that the Nebraska State Police and the FBI were never invited by Gering Police Department to become involved. Why wouldn't they look to get as much help as they can?

I don't know. That argument at the golf course has me concerned.

He must have felt awkward and uncomfortable, to leave like that, especially walking away instead of driving? Did he not own his own vehicle? That's something that is puzzling me- if he was going to leave, and he had a vehicle of his own, why not drive away? Or was he inebriated and decided to walk instead of drive? Something made him want to get out of that house and fast. No man or woman just walks away literally from his home and wants a ride to the next state from a friend and then disappears, unless he either did drown or foul play is involved.

I think that if he harmed himself, he would have been found by now. Even his phone hasn't been located, correct?
