I have been reading this thread since it first started. My heart aches for Corrie, all of her family, and friends.
I think in order to help our sleuthing here on WS perhaps we should make a post/list of what we know to be FACTS that we can share without getting anyone in trouble. That way maybe we could start looking at other possible scenarios, if there are any.

Corrie Wood. I just found this site for her.
In reading everything over,
and going by what most police say, a beating death is usually personal.
The boyfriend leaps out as the most likely suspect.
I am sure LE are following him closely.
He had been in prison, seems to be known as violent. Even if he was trying to turn his life around, he could have been so angry at Corrie, he decided
to go over there and get his stuff out early that morning. Harsh words said, next, there's a fight. He is shocked he did it, leaves, comes back, finds her still alive, calls for help. She dies in the hospital.
No one knows where he was on that Sunday.
He is not allowed to go to the funeral.

Questions: dna? what was she beaten with?
did he have blood on him? if had cell phone, did the pings show where he was when talking with the person who took Corrie home?
are there security cameras anywhere nearby that would capture someone
on the street or in a car?
has he been to her graveside?
Also, it sounds like a very small town. Maybe the state police could be called in, if there is no killer caught in six months?
Prayers for justice.

All good questions and a good theory as well. I would add in again, I strongly believe due to evidence I have found, that she is the one carrying everything, the business, the cars, everything they have is thanks to her....By her leaving him or a split (same thing really) -- Is it possible that she called him "worthless" or something along those lines which caused him to react in anger?? I know I say the same theory over and over...
Donna, I will say it again, I would love some answers to your questions!!!!
BTW, the state police had taken over and now this case is on the crimestoppers website.

So glad you took time to read my theory.
And I am glad to know the state police have taken over the case. I will check out the crimestoppers website.

I wish I could answer all of your questions but really only one thing jumped out at me, Corrie was not still alive when Scott called for help and she did not die in the hospital. Corrie had been gone for awhile already when help arrived.

The mothers parents have been taking care of him for quite some time. From my understanding they were having a hard time letting him go. Corrie was appointed by the court to oversee the first week or so (?) that they had Wyatt... and then they had to go back to court several times... she told me that she had to go to Lincoln on the 30th but I don't know if it was to go to court again.

Yes I had also heard all of this: that Wyatt was staying with his grandparents, also that Corrie had gone to court over this too. I just wish there was some more information out there to get ahold of, I know quite a bit of information but there hasn't been really anything new for a little while, have you heard anything new??

Another day goes by without Justice for Corrie!!!

This one seems so simple, what the heck is taking so long!!!!!

I am curious, no harm intended.. is it maybe possible the female that drove Corrie home was seeing Scott on the side?

  • #152
No offense to anyone but based on his past record, I wouldn't be hanging out with someone his age/nor think he was a "good" person.. 2 charges for identiy theft and terroists.. sorry people are what they are, his last charge I would consider fairly recent..So, what concern as a grown man did he have for his son??

I too, was thinking about a possible love triangle - good angle and theory. I guess with this case anything is possible.

I have not heard anything new. I am starting to wonder if the Grant Police botched this one up so bad that the evidence was ruined and the Nebraska State Patrol have nothing to go off of but what people are telling them. THERE IS A MURDERER ON THE LOOSE IN GRANT NE!!! What is it going to take, this person to kill again before someone comes clean? I hope whomever did this to Corrie is just being eaten from the inside out! I feel the investigators need to release some kind of update, or take someone in for disturbing the crime sceen. Someone at this point needs to take responsiblity for what has happened.

I totally agree with you!! I have the same bad feeling as you that the crime scene was so botched that they are having trouble!! It just makes me sick to think that they are having trouble figuring this out, and what if they don't get it?? That was hard for me to even say because I am just not willing to axcept that!! Corrie was murdered and someone is responsible and all I want is for that person to be punished for what they did!! We can't change the past and bring her back so the only closure we have left for this is for the responsible one to pay and pay big time!!!

Hi djk and rbd,

Do either one of you know the female that drove Corrie home that night? If so do you have any reason to suspect the female and Scott had a thing on the side?

My own thoughts, Corrie and Scott do not seem like one's likely to be together?!?! I read on another blog a poster who claimed to be the one to drive Corrie home, something about the post struck me as odd, uncaring, etc.. Did this female even know Corrie or was it as a favor driving her home? I thought I read somewhere it was a friend of Scott's.

Also what is the town population, jeeezzzz... doesn't take a rocket scientist to get SOME things right.... God Bless her sweet daughter and family..

I think he will be arrest when LE feel they have enough to go to trial. I do believe it was Scott because I can't think why anyone else who would want to murder her. It could have started out as an argument and got way out of control and she ended up dead. For someone to be that full of rage as to beat her about the head and body....who else but a boyfriend or husband. Well, it is said that she got along fine with her ex but Scott is the one with the terrible temper. He must have just went into a rage. Corrie's family not wanting him at the service speaks real loud to me.

I wonder if they were fighting that night before she left the bar? It's been said that they were and then that they weren't...that she just wanted to go home and he didn't. Course that could have been the argument.

I still don't understand why LE didn't think she had been murdered when they first got there. If a person is beaten badly about the face and body it isn't hard to tell that they were beaten to death. LE couldn't have been that blind could they? It is really hard to believe that they left that house open for everyone to walk into and start cleaning. Bizarre.

I thought of this too, but knowing the friend so well, I can pretty positively say that there is no way she and Scott were fooling around together. She has a wonderful relationship with another man and they've been together for a very long time.

First of all, the friend that took her home was one of Corrie's best friends.

Secondly, it's a small town, less than 1500 people. We haven't had a murder in 22 years. This is the first time in a really long time they've had to deal with stuff like this.

Thirdly, read my comment about the friend and Scott. I highly doubt there is/was anything going on between them.

mmleikam,

I agree that Grant is a small town. I was born in Grant and grew up in Imperial, but there comes a point where common since has to come into play!! I know this type of thing doesn't ever happen in that neck of the woods but like I said there has to be common since in there somewhere! When this first happened the cause of death seemed to be either alcohol posioning or drug overdose so they cleared the scene...First of all, I knew Corrie and I didn't buy either one of these two causes of death, not for one second!! I knew that Corrie did not die from alcohol posioning, nor drug overdose, unless someone drugged her because she wouldn't do it to herself... There is an advantage to a small town, everyone knows everyone, some of the people responding to the scene should have know her and this should have sent off red flags to these people, I know one person in particular that responded that knew Corrie well... Corrie was already gone when they responded, when a person is already gone there is nothing that can be done so all local law enforcement should have done is call for an advanced crime unit and blocked the house so that NO ONE could get in there, just in case...it would have been better safe than sorry and in this case we are looking at sorry because they just released...BIG MISTAKE FOR GRANT POLICE!!!

I'm REALLY getting tired of hearing the excuse that Grant is a small town and this sort of thing has not happened in 22 years...I don't care, they should have used common since! And exactly, they DONT have experience with this SO WHY EVEN TRY TO ACT LIKE THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING??? Why not accept they didn't know what they are doing instead of trying and messing everything up!! call in for people who know what they were doing and just block the place off!!! This should have been solved already, instead the person responsible is walking around like nothing ever happened!! So frusterating!!
