Wow Steadfast! That certainly is strange, a 38 year old woman and they still don't know the cause of death? I looked and I can't see that one has been released yet?

It sounds like there is the possibility that there might be an arrest in Corrie's case soon. I hope that is what the person that has info but can't tell us yet what it is was talking about. I don't care if I have to wait...I just hope there is an arrest coming soon.

I've read the cache of some deleted comments on a web site that the deceased woman in Imperial and her boyfriend were not friends with Corrie or Scott, but also comments that at least one of them was dealing drugs in Grant. So who knows what's true?

Krutsinger was already deceased when the EMS crew arrived so Browning was summoned to the scene.
With the cause of death unknown, Browning knew an autopsy would be imminent and a thorough investigation would needed to be completed at the home.
While Browning said he had confidence in his department to handle such an investigation, he opted to call in the state patrol for assistance . . . Also a factor in Browning's decision was the recent death of Corrie Wood of Grant, formerly of Imperial. An autopsy in that case later showed her death was the result of blunt force trauma triggering a homicide investigation. The state patrol was called in to assist in that investigation as well.
While the Imperial scene was secured almost immediately, the scene of the Wood death was not secured between the time of death and the autopsy.

I this unexplained death on Oct 30 in Imperial related in any way? I mean, were either this woman or her boyfriend friends of Scott's or Corrie's?

On another note -- it seems strange to me that a newspaper would publish that someone found his wife with another man. I mean, did they really have to publish WHY he assaulted his wife? I guess it seems odd since they're publishing nothing about Corrie's case and then they're giving the juicy details of this case.

Thanks for posting this Steadfast. I hadnt read this story. Very interesting to say the least. On the bright side of things, it appears that perhaps Corrie's unfortunate death has helped to educate local law enforcement to some degree.

As for your question about why such juicey details would be published, all I can say is that from my experience that is typical of many small town Nebraska newspapers. In a small community everyone already knows the details, so the paper saying why the fight occurred is not news to anyone. Again, just from my expereince of small town Nebraska, but again I am not familiar with Grant and Imperial.

I have to agree about the LE learning from Corrie's tragedy. There was another article written, I don't believe this same one. Where they stated "suicide and blunt force trauma" have been ruled out. I guess they knew what to look for right away. I am uncertain if there are any connections between the two. From all I have been reading and found looks like drugs are not the uncommon in these areas.

Just wondering how many DUIs one person can get without some long jail time there? This is crazy that he's putting so many more people in danger. He ought to know that he's being watched by LE and they're going to bust him at any opportunity. Not too smart, but neither is killing your girlfriend.

Yeah, I knew it was true that he had gotten another DUI but I am so glad there is proof now...Thank you NSC I can't believe that he is so dangerous and reckless and they just keep letting him back out! Scott Petro is a danger to society!! Any person who continues to go out and drive after they have gotten drunk needs to be put away before they kill someone (else)!!

Now that the DUI is cleared up.....moving on.... to continue to help bring information to light. :behindbar I don't think he is still in custody, he was not there at around noon today. So, he must have bonded out. Hopefully if he is out he doesn't go out and drive again. Another person dodged the Scott bullet.

There are a few of us constantly coming up with new info. Might mean something - might mean nothing. I wanted to thank those that also have been stuff on the side that we have sent to them. Awesome job!!!

Last, dont call me a tease....:woohoo: but things we have done are coming to FRUIT and everyone that has helped contribute to this thread should be VERY proud of themselves for helping out, because everything you have done - has helped. Just keep hanging on...it won't be to much longer

My theory at this time?
Sometime after Corrie got home, she and SP continued their argument on the phone. Then he showed up and they continued arguing and he hit her a few times. Then he took off, not knowing she would die, but she did die. She may not have even known that she had a fatal injury before she went to sleep.

I believe a similar situation occured. Adding:

Scott returned to party with friends which created some sort of cover for where he was during that time.

Still not sure if more than one person was involved...or knew what happened...

But was there anyone around who did have bruising or scratches the next day? Someone had to have done it.

Just some things to consider:

• Her death wasn't originally deemed suspicious, so how closely was Scott looked at that morning, and what day was he questioned after they determined her death was a homicide, to look for that?
• Scott has tattoos on his fingers on both hands
• Scott works in construction so probably could explain any bruising or cuts
• Corrie was no match for him and possibly had been drinking, so how much could she have fought back?

Hey. Here's mine.

Theory/Speculation:

IMO, I think Scott and Corrie had a fight at the Cactus, a fight so bad that Scott wanted Corrie to move out. Red drove Corrie home while Scott stayed at the Cactus. Scott later left the Cactus, drove home, they argued, he was enraged and he killed her right then and there with blows to the head and body. Corrie was no match for his 225 lbs. I think he then put her into their bed and drove somewhere like the new house about 1 mile away (which looks on google earth to be in a remote area with only 1 house somewhat nearby).

He had several hours there to think things through. He returned home shortly before 10AM and “found” Corrie dead, and called 911. I think he possibly told LE he had first gone home in the early morning hours but was locked out of the house on the chance a neighbor saw him. I also think he told LE a story that AM, they decided Corrie’s death wasn’t suspicious, maybe event felt bad for him, released the scene and went on their way.

I don’t think he has told anyone what really happened; he thinks he just needs to sit tight, bide his time and he’ll get away with it.

The County Attorney is to blame for things like that. They can just keep backing it up to First Offense. I read an article one time where a person in Cailfornia had been charged 23 times and was only up to Second Offense.

I also believe that Scott and Corrie had a fight at the bar that night. Red brought Corrie home leaving Scott at the bar since there was a fight he was probably drinking heavily and getting angrier by the second. I think that at some point after the bar closed I think that Scott returned to the house and the fight with Corrie continued and became physical. Everyone has already pointed out that Corrie was much smaller and had been drinking so she would not have been able to defend herself well.

I do not think that Scott went to the house with the intention of killing Corrie but more to "teach her a lesson" like so many abusers try to do. I must add I hate men that try to have power over a woman by using physical violence it's pathetic! Anyhow, I believe that he killed Corrie and not knowing what to do he put her in bed and left. He then came back and "found" her the next morning.

I also believe that there are at least 3 others who have more info than they are letting on about this case as well thus their changing stories and acts of covering up what happened by disrupting the crime scene.
