I know that this was the house that Corrie died in, but was it owned by either of them? I know that they had plans of moving into another residence together, a plan that was to happen on a date shortly after her death correct? I just am wondering how indicative this is of Scott's sentencing or just coincidence? I would like to believe the first, but I am skeptical.

Anyhow, I am also wondering, do Realtors or whomever rents homes, are they legally obligated to say that a death occurred in a property? I am just wondering why somebody would link to that article if not forced to by law. In addition, is that newer washer and dryer the same appliances that Scott and his pals washed sheets in right after Corrie's passing? I don't know, it just all seems so morbid.

It is always so sad to revisit this thread and see so little having happened in regards to her death. I hope her family and loved ones are finding ways to cope. It must be so frustrating to know that a killer is walking free in their midst and there is so little being done about it.

Good questions! I don't know the answers to any of them. I do think that "new washer" is there to let people know that the one in the home is not the one used to wash the sheets.
I'm happy Petro's in jail now, because people might be more inclined to come forward. Well, and also because that's where he belongs.

You do have some good questions and I will try my best to answer some of them :) No this house was not owned by either Scott or Corrie they were renting this house. And yes they were getting ready to move to another house which I do not know for sure but I think they were going to buy the one they were planning on moving into at the time of Corrie's death.

About the realtors, I don't know if they are obligated by law to let people know what happened in the home, and I don't know if the "newer washer" is the one that was used to wash the sheets after her death but I would guess so. I really doubt if they put in a brand new washer so yes it probably is the same one.

It is very frusterating to have so little happening! I am sooooo happy that Scott is in jail now where he belongs, even though no charges have been brought for the murder of Corrie yet, hopefully with him being locked up that people will start talking to put this case to rest!!

Djkbs0416 and STEADFAST: thank you for your replies. I didn't even think about the implications of people having looser lips now that Scott is incarcerated! Duh on me! However, do the people who are local to the case know if LE is still actively pursuing leads and revisiting old ones? It just seems like this needs to be the time that LE puts the pressure on people who might know something. In my opinion, the likelihood of somebody coming forward at this point just seems slim.
What do you guys think?

Your welcome :) Any clearing up for this case is good because there is so much information out there, true and untrue...As for the case, I can assure you that it is still very active. Yes we are hoping very much that with SP in jail that people will come forward and open up to what they know. Now is the best time because the threat is locked up!! :)

I'm getting really anxious for the 20th so that we will know how long Scott Petro will be put away for! Hopefully a long time. He is a danger to society and with him behind bars (where he belongs) the world is a safer place. The truth has GOT to come out about Corrie so that SP can be locked up for the rest of his life, now is the time to come out with what you know and start talking!!! PLEASE!!!

...
this is just speculation on my part
about the method of death...........if its already been discussed and looked into.......let me know and i will delete so not to make this thread unnecessary long..........but what about a person, that was an expert or training in the martial arts.......someone whom could have selected certain areas of the body and caused her death......these types of injurys would have not been seen, im assuming, until the autopsy was conducted......has this angle been examined......thank you
ALL MOO, NOTHING FACTUAL JUST SPECULATION.

First off let me tell you that your input and speculation is appreciated. We know that Corrie was brutally beaten and her cause of death was blunt force trauma. It wasn't anything like that with specified parts of her body and martial arts, the fact of the matter is, Corrie was brutally beaten to death by someone who just continued to beat her until he took her life. I don't know for sure why her injuries were not noticeable in the first palce besides without blood flow the bruises did not form.

...for responding back...
I will, go back and read all on this thread, since I'm off work for couple of weeks..........but for now, without having access to the LE files.........and the autopsy results, to see EXACTLY her injuries, and determined cause of death.......
I was looking online about blunt trauma and here IS the link

http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/blunt+trauma

These type of injuries, are more inline, from what read there, with a serious fall, vehicle crash etc........severe internal injuries that causes death........
Since she was found in bed, without any apparent physical signs of being beating to death until the autopsy, they came to the conclusion she was beaten to death.......which i am not disputing at all.....BUT, it leads me to my question, i wonder, if it could have been possible, on that night.......she died elsewhere, and was brought back to the house and put into bed, to make it look like she died in her sleep....i do think, just an assumption, she died somewhere else, and was brought back home........but without official LE report, its all speculation on my part again...........I just wonder, if on that night, someone was driving a vehicle, and she was killed, and instead of reporting the crash to LE on that night......someone with them came up with the idea, to just take her back home and put her in bed, then call LE when they did..................
In a nutshell, i wonder if LE checked the theory, speculation someone was driving intoxicated on that night, had a crash, she was killed, they panic/or perhaps someway, not an accident, but dilberate, did not want to get in trouble for the crash etc, took her back home and put her in bed??
Did anyone, your aware of, have a crash that night, tht wasnt noticed, until after the fact??...someone perhaps reported a hit and run, while there vehicle was parked somewhere??, like a cover up....to not be charged with vehiclur homicde??
thanks for letting me speculate, I am hoping, to perhaps open a new path for LE to travel on, .......but unsure without files, if they have already travel this path.

If you know of any specific questions, that LE has not been able to answer, to charge and arrest someone in this crime......Tell me, if you can, a or those questions.

MrTT,

There has been just about every speculation you can think of on this case. We have definitely thought about her being killed in a car accident and brought back home and put in bed but nothing ever came together with that as far as physical evidence for an auto accident. Also the speculation of her being beat to death somewhere besides her home has been thought about as well and may very well be possible, and then she was just brought home and put in bed to make it seem like she had just passed away in her sleep. The very first thought of her death was that she did just pass away in her sleep, when I first heard thats what they were saying, that is until the autopsy came back and showed her cause of death being blunt force trauma then we knew it was murder. I think that LE has thought about all of these possibilities as well and I know that they are still actively working Corrie's case and I just hope and pray every day that they will get somewhere positive on this so that we can get a conviction and put the responsible murderer in prision forever and get justice for Corrie.

PC, thanks for link.

I'm hoping...

========

Although some of the evidence has already been tested, Sheriff Brueggeman said the State Patrol is still conducting evidence testing, and upon completion of the testing, all reports will be forwarded to the Perkins County Attorney’s Office.

As recently as Feb. 17, Sheriff Brueggeman and Perkins County Attorney Richard H. Roberts met with investigators from the Nebraska State Patrol to discuss the status of the criminal investigation.

"The case is still active and the investigation is ongoing,” said Brueggeman. “It’s not a cold case.”

Once the evidence testing is completed, the same agencies mentioned above will regroup to review the case and make a determination on whether charges can be filed and an arrest warrant issued.

I guess this is why there has been no arrest........still waiting for all testing to be completed then turned over.................i understand its the waiting for the results that is most frustrating..........in the begining, the police said 3-6 months.....and another said possibly a long time...............so, until all DNA results are in, were still waiting?

Tomorrow (May 20th) is the big day for Scott's hearing to find out just how long he will have to go back to prison for. Lets hope for the longest time possible! Lets hope that the judge will look at his record and especially look into his recent record and realize how much of a danger to society Scott Petro really is. The longer the better!!!

The landlord is letting people know what happened in the house because he doesn't want people to find out after moving in. The listing on his rental site has a link to an article about Corrie's death. He is also telling people when they call inquiring about the house. Well, he told me anyway, so I assume he's telling everyone.

  • #235
Thanks MM, that is a good idea for him to tell people what happened and I didn't know that there was a link to Corrie's article on the rental site. Thanks.

This is so hard to remain patient because everything is so silent!! No new news about Corrie and still no word about how long SP is going to get for his violation!!! BLAH!

  • #238
Just wanted to bring Corrie's thread up to date it is really far back there! I don't want anyone to forget about her!! :)

  • #239
This was one of the first cases I read here at WS. If I understand the latest ... Petro was put back in prison or jail on a parole violation. Was the revocation a way to get him off the streets while they find a way to file actual charges?

Okay, Im back! Been busy moving! I need to review some things I have been sent by "sources" and some other interesting things I might feel more comfy posting now that SP is behind bars where in my opinion, he belongs!!!
