At 7:45 a.m. Jan. 31, Tenley Jansen left her Central City home to go to work at Dodge Elementary School in Grand Island.

That’s the last time she saw her husband, David. At some point that day, David Jansen left the house on foot, and people are still looking for him.
Local people have put a lot of effort into the search. The day after Jansen disappeared, the Central City Police Department asked the Nebraska State Patrol to fly a helicopter over the Platte River because a walking trail “goes right behind his house to the river,” said Police Chief Mark Hogue.
Jansen, 52, is an avid hunter.
Numerous search parties have headed out looking for him at surrounding lakes and other areas. “The river area has been walked at least four or five times,” Hogue said.
Officers have checked all of the buildings in town that are heated and accessible.
But her husband being missing has been hard on her family. “I mean, it’s just shattered all our lives,” she said.

The Jansens have four children and three grandchildren.
“He has his own business that we’re keeping open,” she said. “And we’re going to keep it open.”
That business is called Quality Cut Lawn Care.

Asked to describe her husband, she said, “He’s a nice, friendly guy. Everybody loves him. Everybody misses him. I mean, we have well-wishers calling all the time. He’s missed dearly.”
Jansen left the house on foot, leaving behind his vehicle, phone and wallet.

He was wearing slippers, black sweat pants, a gray sweatshirt and a dark-colored lightweight jacket. “He was possibly carrying a red cooler,” Hogue said.

He left behind his tobacco, without which he never left home.
Tenley Jansen doesn’t know what time her husband left the house that day.

Jansen is 6-foot-1, weighs about 190 pounds and has brown hair and a brown beard.
Police have examined his cellphone. Even though he didn’t have his phone with him, they’ve checked the calls he made prior to his departure.

Wondering who's property this was on? His?

It appears this was on his own property.

CENTRAL CITY — The body of a man believed to be David Jansen was found inside a camper trailer on the Jansen family property Saturday in Central City.

The body was located in a storage unit of the camper, which was parked near the Jansen family home at 2219 14th Ave. The storage area was underneath a bed, said Tenley Jansen, David Jansen’s wife.

Odd place to find him. Did he crawl under there and get stuck or did someone put his body under the bed to hide it?

That is an extreme way to hide yourself before committing suicide. I really hope they've looked into this thoroughly.
