I know that Matthew Tyler was the one who clarified that S.S. had been found but that it hadn't been updated properly or something, I'm sorry I don't know specifics. I also read that Matthew had been in contact with S.S. and LE re. him having been cleared of anything re. any connection to Jason's disappearance, either innocently or otherwise. p.s. Who is Michelle?

@MatthewTyler was just coming to tag him in this, he’s been very dedicated to Jason’s case and is the one that tracked “Samuel Sherman” down and confirmed as found, I do believe.

Yes I am. And I have lived in the area since before and still now. I know things that were reported but were never investigated. For example: Jason, Sam and a female ( possibly Michelle) were seen walking together by kids on their bikes around 56th Street and Miami around the same time both Jason and Sam went missing. The authorities never once questioned those residents in the neighborhood or the kids after their siting was reported.

Sure thing, buddy.

If you know so much about this, then surely you know that Sherman isn't his real last name. If you can tell me his real last name, then maybe I'll listen more to what you have to say. Can't help notice that you just made your account today. Did you just wake up today with an intense need to reveal hidden truths, or to stir up controversy? Who is Michelle btw?

I'm sure the poster's trolling, but as an aside, I have a vague recollection of a girl who disappeared sometime after Jason. It was when I was researching Samuel's disappearance that I found a page of missing people from Nebraska. There was a young woman but no photo and scant information to go on. I've just tried to find the page again but no luck. Don't hold me to this, though.

It could be that I'm thinking of this person:
Mattie L Burns - Nebraska Missing Person Directory

She disappeared eight months after Jason. Totally unrelated, I suspect.
Another "no picture" person with little information leads me to believe she was another Samuel Sherman type- transient. Kinda sounds like she just took off with "unnamed friend" and peaced out of Omaha. Either that or (hopefully not) unnamed friend harmed her and they were never able to identify who it actually was.

Did the police/Jason's friends and family ever do a thorough search of Fontenelle Park and Lake James Park? According to the page (Jason Jolkowski | The Cubs Fan Who Didn’t Come Home | Ep 2) with details of Jason's case created by The Unfound Podcast (who interviewed Jason's mother), after passing the park Jason would have walked straight down Bedford Ave.

I know it sounds morbid but now might be the time to use search dogs or tools to identify human remains in the parks, since it sounded it was, still is and would be difficult if not impossible for police to get a search warrant for every house on Jason's route to his high school. I'm obviously suggesting this based on my own conclusion that Jason disappeared due to foul play and that he didn't disappear at his own will.

Otherwise, this case has been heartbreaking to learn about. He sounded like a sweet kid who was gone too soon. I hope he is found soon.

Both of those parks are very public and have both had construction work done on them throughout the years. If any part of him was there, it certainly would have been found by now. Jason is likely buried on private property- perhaps under a deck or some concrete foundation.

If Jason was murdered by someone, the perp must have been an opportunistic killer (because Jason's change in schedule was last minute) and would have likely repeated killings probably within the same area, making him a serial killer. I wonder if any of the registered sex offenders in his neighborhood also went to the same church as his family.

If Jason wasn't murdered, he must have been in such a hurry to get to the high school that he didn't look carefully where he was going and fell into an uncovered construction site.

Vanished Into Thin Air: The Disappearance of Jason Jolkowski
''Investigators combed through surveillance footage from cameras at both Benson High School and the neighboring middle school, but Jason never appeared on any of the footage. It was clear that he never made it as far as the school; unfortunately, there were no other surveillance cameras in the area so it’s unknown exactly how close he might have gotten to his destination before he disappeared.

Police conducted several searches of the area where Jason was last seen, combing through the residential streets, wooded areas, and parks on foot and horseback. They used a helicopter equipped with infrared radar, but found nothing.''

Thanks for the article, @dotr
It doesn't mention if canines were used in the search efforts. Does anyone know if they were used, and, if so, did they pick up a scent?

Wonder if dogs would be able to pick up any scent of Jason now?

Missing teen's parents help other families cope - CNN.com
''Despite mounted searches, ground searches, a helicopter and the use of infrared technology, there was no sign of Jason or any clues to his whereabouts. The family is not certain whether dogs were brought to track the route between the Jolkowski home and the high school. But his mother said she believes that if police had any evidence, they would have shared it with the family.''

Jason's mom had mentioned awhile ago that dogs were never used because she didn't know about that method at the time (and I guess was never informed about that option?). At this point there probably wouldn't be any success with dogs.

I maintain that Jason's low-risk victim status, and the circumstances behind his disappearance, make a random abduction extremely unlikely.

I realize using dogs now probably wouldn't be helpful, I was simply curious if they had.

Or if a private property has changed ownership and the new owners don't have a problem with LE searching the property...

"The two were arrested Tuesday after years of investigation and a search last month using ground-penetrating radar and cadaver dogs at the elder Flores’ home that led to evidence connected to Smart’s death, authorities said. They didn’t revealed what was found."
